Put your Sun and Moon, so we can see how our different views of happiness corresponds to our Astrological natures.

For me, the secret to happiness is finding something in life that we love to do. I'm sitting in some of those law school classes that seem to drag on forever! Time crawls! But when I'm doing something I truly love, I lose all sense of time, and it just flies on by! Even better, to get paid to do what you love, that transcends work in the traditional sense. I have a Capricorn Sun and Moon. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, otherwise known as Father Time. Capricorn is associated with work.

The secret to happiness is being true to myself. Following my goals and passions. Not letting the little things in life drag me down.

To de-stress: I love nature and spending time with my dog on hikes or volunteering at animal shelters. Going on long runs helps as well.

My chart:
Pisces- Sun, Moon conjunct
Aries - Mars, Venus
Leo - Ascendant

Sun in Pisces

MOON in Cap

ASC in Cap

The Secret of happiness is clearing all your traumas which will bring you back to your original state which is one of happiness and joy. Anything external can't give you happiness, it has to come from within. Positive Thinking without doing the work of clearing out the lifetimes of trauma and negative Subconscious garbage is like putting whipped cream on a turd. Our original State is one of happiness and Joy and Serenity and we as humans have fallen. Now we have to get back up again.

Alfred in Batman Begins covers this perfectly

"Why do we fall sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up."

I agree with Randall.. Strive to eventually make 100% of your life filled with things you love doing (for me that is art & music).

...And love ^_^

Sag Sun in 5th
Aries Moon in 9th

This is coming from my personal conclusion to nihilism. As a Sag sun and 9th house moon, I reaally need to know the answer to 'why,' and when I found that it doesn't necessarily exist, that I could answer it for myself, I became truly 'happy'

For me, it is impossible to be truly happy in this world, in this dimension. Everything that I want, that I'd like to do, to have, is not very possible, and I feel like I am always only settling and forcing myself to be content with what limited little we humans have.

I seem to live in a near-perpetual state of disappointment with life, and am still trying my best to come to terms with what is, and what I want, which cannot be - at least here. Even when I do, it doesn't stop the ache that's just a few feet underneath my acceptance.

However, I think that what would make me happy, is to be able to live limitlessly in every way possible. Boundlessness.

I agree with you, a career you love is key to happiness. My sun in virgo rules my 10th house and falls in the 11th, I like a career that is intellectually stimulating and involves helping/serving others.

My moon rules my 9th and I am restless. I have a need to expand my horizons.

Further Neptune rules my 5th and squares my Sun opposite Moon so I need romance and fun in my life.

In a nutshell to be happy:

1. I need a career that involves helping others and is intellectually stimulating (sun in virgo in the 11th house ruling the 10th house).

2. I need new experiences that expand my horizons periodically or else I start to feel stuck and trapped. It could be moving from Miami to Colorado like I did, trying new food, going sky diving (*still haven't), checking out a new hiking trail, or meeting a new love that expands my horizons or world views, or it can be as simple as discovering a cool new TV show, if I could afford it traveling abroad more (e.g.Japan, South Africa) etc...(moon ruling my 9th house square neptune)

3. Romance and Fun which ties into number 2 I feel. I have moon square neptune, neptune rules my 5th house).

Given that I have so many needs it can get tricky figuring out how to get all those needs met...

Great thread idea! I feel the moon is key because it tells us our emotional needs. The sun is what we are here to become so is a driving force that cannot be ignored. I would add the ascendant perhaps since it creates our chart ruler.

Venus.

Anything that gives us pleasure will make us happy. I believe Venus is the planet that rules pleasure in the horoscope.

Physical pleasures aside, anything that stimulates the higher mind gives me pleasure. I remember my first philosophy class, can't recall the exact topic (I think therefore I am - Rene Descartes), but I walked out of the first class with quite a rush.

A world that is good, great, grand. A place where I have the freedom to come and go without hindrance or obligation, along much intellectual stimulation on offer. That makes me happy.

Venus in Taurus, 9th house.

Cool thread!

Sun in Sagittarius, Moon in Scorpio.

For me happiness is about connectedness. Connecting deeply with myself, with nature, with other people. It's about the dissolution of the ego, letting go of petty concerns, and dropping into the moment with full embrace, allowing the deepest connection and intimacy possible. I believe through this intimacy we find freedom and transcend ourselves to become one with nature. To achieve this I employ a combination of vulnerability and focus. Still figuring it out! I believe happiness is rooted in freedom and freedom is rooted in intimacy and intimacy comes from acceptance and acceptance is rooted in gratitude!!

Still figuring it out though. Great thread!

Sun Aqua, 2nd house
Moon Aries, 4th house

The secret to happiness when I can find peace within ME, these include:

1. The pleasure of home: Home is like my escapism. I always try to make it as cozy as it feels. Useful and creative tools can be easily found here as I tend to fix something on my own or creating/making something. I like being lazy, I mean, enjoying the time and things I have or do something with pajamas/lazy clothes at home as I can be too focus at work and a moment at home (solitude) is one of my secret to happiness.

2. Good and healthy food: yes, without it I don't happy. I need to make myself happy with good food as I don't eat just anything, I can be picky choosing foods. I have my own taste, street food is okay as long as it looks clean and makes me happy when eating it. LOL.

3. Maintaining positive thoughts: I thank my moon conjunct jupiter for this and some several good aspect and non-heavy sign placement. Some people I have met often BITTER. Because of this, you can hear their second thoughts in the back of their mind. Grumpy, criticism, nagging/whining, suspicious, expectations, etc, I don't understand how mind can work like that, maybe it calls feeling? Well, what is feeling? I'm just kidding. -- it's funny that some of my male friends told me that I have a male brain as if I told them how my minds work they told me "that's how men think". lol

4. Having double job: I don't know, I just like being financially secured. When I was in college I desperately wanted a job as I wanted to have my own money but my Dad didn't approve. So I made a deal with him that if I could finish my college earlier then I would take any job. He said, "yes" and I made it, my Dad couldn't say anything as I actually knew he was afraid of something. Since that I kind of always have a side job. I can say that I treat money wisely as I hate wasting it on rubbish as I work hard for it. LOL.

5. Choosing my circle of people: I may friendly with anyone but you can bet I choose very carefully my circle (based on intuition and analyzing) and those I will spend and create moment the most. I don't like wasting my time to make people like me or to be accepted socially. What you see is what you get. By choosing people, I know that my loyalty and trust won't be wasted and I'm truly happy when I can give them world. Since I have been betrayed by some friends in the past, my circle becomes smaller that is my family and current partner and some trusted childhood friends. Otherwise, I put some distance with other friends, so it's not weird if some friends told me I'm detached or hard to reach while I either still analyze the friendship or spend my time with my circle of people. LOL.

My secret of happiness is I don't have any expectations from the outside but from the inside on how to maintain the peace in ME.

Honestly I don't know how to answer that because that seems the easiest question but at the same time is the toughest one.

Anyway I like this quote

quote:
I feel like people get lost when they think of happiness as a destination. We always think that someday we'll be happy. When we get that car or that job or that person in our lives who will fix everything. But happiness is a mood and it's a condition. Not a destination. It's like being tired or hungry. It's not permanent. It comes and goes and that's OK. And if people would think that way, they'd find happiness more often"

I need to read this more 😿🙀

I agree about having something you love to do.In my opinion that is the major source of happiness!Having a passion, purpose.Oh and family of course (I love my family so much) but I think finding a purpose is the major one because, unfortunally ,until we find a passion, find our identity we may deteriorate the relationship with others, the ones we love due to our inner turmoil. :/ Work on ourselves is essencial.

Also being honest with ourselves, our values.

Love others freely, without holding anything in.SURRENDER.

Be who we are.Pretend anything is life consuming, exhausting.

Doing what I love for a living is one part of the equation. I love taking care of people, whether that's bringing them a warm blanket, a cup of coffee, giving them their much-needed medication, or arguing with their doctor on their behalf. Advocating for people. Being on their side. Being their champion. Having their back. It doesn't matter who they are...I will take care of them, period. There's happiness when you dedicate yourself to service, sacrifice, and hard work. Sun in Virgo/7th house.

The other secret to happiness is family, friends, good food, good music, and spoiling those that I care about because I can. What good is all of that financial security and hard work if I don't get to enjoy it from time to time? Gemini Moon/4th house.

No quoting please!

I think when you become a giver, which is hard to do and even harder to sustain, I think you feel deep happiness. I think knowing God loves you,as is, is the deepest happiness and this is hard to sustain too lol

Getting into a gratitude loop and being in awe of all that is above, beneath and around you.

I tell you that when I am in a state of contemplation, silence and meditating about the nature of Source, I could live in that zone forever. Its the best.

Constant adoration, constant gratefulness, constant awe. I think that is what I as a human being love to do and it makes me so happy*this word not being quite the best adjective to describe it*

Sun in Sagittarius
Moon in Leo

My 'secret' to happiness has little to do with my Sun and/or Moon.

Mine is more Saturnian in nature. Take care of your responsibilities, and the universe will respond in kind.
