Ok this may be dull to some but I was
hoping we might come together in this
thread to share any knowledge we
have re: Jupiter and bodily expansion.

I have thought to study Elvis Presley,
he became pretty obese in his later
life.

Personally my MC was cnj Jupiter when I was
pretty huge. I thought H1 was where to look
but others saw me as huge too so MC fit I suppose. To add it was in a water house. Sco.
Thinking water excess. Idk. I am intrigued and also looking so I may never become so unhealthy again.

Looking forward to seeing 'your' thoughts on Jupiter as a 'heavyweight' in a personal physique.

Sulkyarcher,

Yes, his ASC is under 2° cnj
my ASC. Our Jupiter's were both
in H10 Sco too, So disturbing.
Our Mercury's also were only 0°
in Cappy. I suppose ignorance and
pleasure seeking maybe.
I can happily say I lost a considerable
amount of weight @42. Which my fate
might have been Elvis style had I not
modified my lifestyle.

....Elvis....

I find it interesting his natal had a Water stellium in H8, Cancer. As well Thalia (Feasts) cnj his Jupiter.
Abundantia 24' 33
Pluto 25' 08
ceres  26' 59

Also his Abundita sextiled his MC, hence showing excess girth during some point of his lifetime.
Ceres was sextile .09 his MC. Maybe MC is how we appear on world stage and H1 is more how we appear to ourselves??

Jim Morrison is another person that comes to mind. Elizabeth Taylor was also famous for (among other things) her tight hourglass figure in youth, then famously went through dietary struggles in the 70's and later.

Maybe Jupiter in Cancer also tends to increase the size of the stomach??

Excellent thought, Sulkyarcher!
Even the chest due to the mother facet
of Cancer.

Thank you.
I completely forgot Elizabeth was a Sag ASC.
Thank you. Was Morrison too? He did grow a bit puffier in his last cpl years iir but he didn't live too old either.

-Added-

Both Jim, Elizabeth had Fire Jupiter. Albeit Liz had her Jupiter in what is the natural Scorpio house, that might hold water. *Pun intended*

I'm looking at Shelly Winters, no idea if she's Saggy in any area but my curiosity is more Jupiter than the Archer tbh. I 'Did' look @Orson Wells (he was known to be pretty slim until a later life transition). Like mine/Elvis, he had Jup in his 10th as well water (Pisces).

Strong Moon-Jupiter aspects (conjunction/parallel, square, opposition/contra-parallel) are the ones most likely to indicate someone with the potential for obesity. This is especially true if Cancer, Scorpio, or the indulgent signs (Taurus, Leo, Libra, Sag) are involved.

Asc/Venus-Jupiter as well.

@athenaia, Jim was An Asc Aqua, Moon Tau and Sun Saggy. He 'might had' lived to face the
problems later in life as Elvis did.
Definitely not the water Jupiter dynamics,
he did seem to have a watery Venus.

@Kannon,

"This is especially true if Cancer, Scorpio, or the indulgent signs (Taurus, Leo, Libra, Sag) are involved."
.. .. .. ..

Idk (me personally) of any Librans with weight issues, a few who believed they had issue but in ref to the Air signs I think in my experience of Gem, Aqua, I've seen much heavier of them (This could be my subtle
envy over Librans for having such self restraint and being more sn Air versionof Leo). Venus seems to have less control over most Taurus people I've known amd certainly as you mentioned, the moon in Taurus is a bit troublesome. I think Leos I've known were more prone to excess than Libra actually. Just in my observation.

My sun Ruler Venus is Conjunct Jupiter (and n.node) in 8th house Aries.

I love chocolate! But dark chocolate, I don't like the taste of too much sugar. Although I'm as many women are, an "emotional" eater. I like to treat myself with chocolate when I'm happy, sad, depressed, tired etc.

I like food, homy hearthy food and I'm very picky with food.

And I'm not heavy or fat thank god! I'm 160 cm long and I weigh 48kg. I have Asc in Virgo 14 degrees and a neat body with the hourglass figure virgo is known for but in a thinner frame so to speak. I train 5-6 days a week, running and going to the gym. I love taking care of my health and body (very virgo).

Also I eat gluten free food only, I stopped with gluten because it gave me lots of stomach prblems and energy loss. Also typical virgo (and moon oppo saturn) to wanna "restrict" food intake in some way or an other!

I'm sure that if I had not have lots of saturnia energy and a virgo asc, I would be soo fat right now! I have been chubby just once in my life, at the age between 14-16. due to lack of healthy training and lots of carbs.

And I have written about this before, but I got bulemia just when transit Jupiter was Transiting my Asc years 2004-2005. Also Uranus was in my 6th house. I wanted to get sick to get away from my school I hated, and thought I could get sick if I stopped eating. This lasted only for 3-4 months though and after summer brek I changed school and started eating as normal. I hated being that thin and I was aware it was ugly, I was just looking for getting sick to be able to control the situation so to speak, so not a typical bulemia case, in my case

Interesting topic.

I have always had yo-yo weight. I've never been obese, but never considerably slim. Jupiter in 5th house Virgo.

My Mom for as long as she's had kids has been overweight, she has a Cancer MC.

My husband has a tummy, but other than that is super fit and muscular. He's a solar Cancer and has Jupiter in the 10th house.

My sister has been overweight for most of her life. She has Jupiter in the 10th.

My other sister is the only one who has been slim her entire life. She has Jupiter in the 10th also. But, she also has a Cap Asc, and Saturn in the 1st house. She has also struggled with an ED.

Jupiter aspects to Venus might also cause obesity. At least, if I had to guess. I have Venus in 6th house, plus it's in Taurus, so there's the possibility for excess with Venus in trine to Jupiter in my chart.

Yes, I've actually been considered obese before. I've lost weight though and I hope that when Uranus starts transiting my 6th house, I'm able to make some lifestyle changes I've been struggling to make for the past 10+ years.

In my case, I didn't realize I was damaging my health with how much I was eating and no one told me about it until I was in my 20's. The story of how I learned this information is a bit unrelated to the topic, though yes, I used to be obese. Now, I'm just considered overweight since I've been cutting back on my excess eating and that was enough for me to lose about 30 lbs. I'm probably around the point where I need to exercise regularly now to lose further weight. However, this is somewhere on my to-do list.

Don't be deceived though. I actually have a higher tendency to skip meals, because I end up getting so focused on what I'm doing that I forget to eat. That and my stomach doesn't always growl when I need food. I have a medication that increases my appetite. The medication in question is basically the only reason I'm ever able to stop what I'm doing to get something to eat.

So, yes, I'm overweight, but that's basically from making poor life decisions while I was growing up. Hopefully, I am still able to reverse the damage from those life decisions before I get much older.

In case you haven't heard your colon is ruled by Scorpio, but I guess some people just don't care much about that. Not titillating enough or something... Anyway congrats on your huge colon!

Jupiter in Scorpio, 1st house.
I've never been overweight, any weight effects are possibly moderated by Saturn cj. Asc. I had a restrictive eating disorder in my teens and again in my twenties, mainly due to poor self-image and a warped idea of my true worth at that time.

As for Jupiter and body parts... maybe I have a huge urethra?? Can't say I've ever compared it!!

I have Sun conj. Jupiter conj. ASC in 1st house - Aquarius.

I'm tall and a big/solid guy - large bone structure too. I have had fluctuations in weight, but as long as I don't eat stupid stuff and exercise I am fine.

Recently I've dropped a significant amount of weight by going fairly Paleo - serious reduction in processed foods and carbs. I eat a salad every day for lunch and have been reducing my meal portions. (This is in addition to exercising 4+ times per week - kung fu 3-4 days and 1 day of hiking.)

I think my astrological decan suggests I need moderate to heavy exercise, and this is pretty true.

Melinn,
you sound blessed with a Virgo rising!
that certainly does play a good strength in your natal.
Also your moon opposite Saturn, I wonder if it is a good remedy for the positive side of Saturn/Moon. Hence your strengthto workoutand not give in too much to comfort.

Thank you, etherealsaturn for the replyand adding your sister's MC. I think the ASC and MC are similar as they carry appearances. Her Cappy might have offered the angle of structure but maybe out of Balance. Your mother's MC might have shown itself as well. I am thinkingthe best sign for Jupiter is Virgo but the house is important too. Maybe 9th Virgo would be pleasant, idk. I truly appreciate your sharing!

Mkya00,
Thank you for sharing! Could your transits have aided the big drop you recently had? Your Saturn sounds like it may have been key too, you seem determined to
be restricted and rather mature, less indulgent as how Jupiter can sometimes influence the party with a strong Jupiter.
