1. Gemini Moon
This fellow or gal finds it very hard to sit still. This is through no fault of his/her own.Gemini is a very high stung energy, making it hard to stop running, literally. The Moon is one of the harder places to have Gemini. I have the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Gemini. I am very high strung but find concentrating on something intellectual to be calming. I love to read. Escaping in to a book calms me down. Trying to learn a new language does the same. The Moon is the heart and deepest emotions. It is not comfortable in cerebral Gemini. Hence, these natives appear as if they never stop moving, either physically or mentally.

2.Venus in Scorpio

This Venus is very intense when in love. He takes things very seriously, which can be very hard. He is a real romantic but is very sensitive to being betrayed. This can put him on the defensive, through no fault of his own.

3. Moon in Virgo

These natives seem to pick at everything and themselves, first and foremost. They may be very sensitive to tastes and smells. My aunt, who is a Moon in Virgo, always, wanted to be what is called a “nose”, the people who help formulate perfume. That would be a perfect job for a Moon in Virgo.

4. Pluto Conjunct Venus

These natives are soooo intense when they are in love. They cannot help it, but it really could be called a curse because it is so very intense, especially when in close orb(1-3 degrees)

5. Sun Combust Mercury

I have this on all of my lists that deal with hard aspects, but if this is the first article you have read of mine, I will add it to this. This aspect makes the person too sensitive to criticism. They find it very hard to detach and be objective when others hurt them. A combust is a one to five degree orb.

6.Mercury Conjunct Saturn

This native seems restricted/shut down when it comes to self expression. He does not want to say the wrong thing and be criticized.

7.Venus Conjunct Saturn

This native may demand perfection of herself, particularly with regard to her personal appearance. She may feel she is not good enough to be truly loved, either, unless she works for it and she never feels she can work hard enough.

8. Moon in the 12th House

This native is very sensitive. He is similar to a Pisces Moon. The harshness of the world and the meanness of people hurts him very deeply.

9. Retrograde Venus

This is the hardest retrograde planet. Somehow, love never seems to work out. If you have this, please, let us know how you experience it. I have not seen very many people with it, as it is quite rare, I think. In the people I have seen, love seems elusive.

10. Pluto in the 12th House

This could be called “Shirley Temple with a shiv”. They are not mean or sneaky, per se. However, they do seem to deeply bury primal emotions and give a vibe of “nice”, through no fault of their own.

Moon in Virgo is trippy I find. My first boyfriend had that and was he ever a clean freak. He'd get upset if you left a finger print on the coffee table. I enjoyed his cleanliness though....

My oldest's father has Venus conjunct Saturn..... and his chart has an extra bite. The Saturn Venus is in an ugly T square with Pluto and Jupiter.....(My ACS was conjunct Venus Saturn).....Pisces Moon squared by Saturn Venus. He prefers the single life and he has been in one or two relationships within the sixteen year I left him.... they were short lived relationships.....

My buddy has all of these together in a crazy tight stellium in scorpio - all three within one degree.

Communication is a real tough point for him - and he also has a Sag SN (which is also known for this as well). I have never discussed it directly with him - it's in scorpio, he'll tell me in his own time (or never ha) - but from what I know about him, I think he has issues relating to his childhood around his father as well, and that contributes to an overwhelming tie of self-esteem issues and stifled communication.

He also has asteroid Ophelia tightly in that stellium - something i think can also show issues of controlling/dominant fathers.

This particular individual is lucky to have a leo moon (well, lucky but his pride is easily smarted I guess), and sag rising - which semi-sextiles his sun-merc-saturn that does lift his charm, but in general, real communication is difficult for him.

Like all these 'difficult' aspects, they can be mitigated against and developed away from - he has NN in gemini and is developing his communication all the time - he's a couple of years away from his second nodal return and I think this will be a massive watershed for him. If he can clear his issues from his past, he'll have the self-awareness to help speed this up even further.

He sounds super interesting, S. Problems with the dad can be Chiron/Sun and/r Chiron in the 10th. Chiron in the 10th shows a dad who really hurt the child and the child feels he does not fit into society, somehow.

I know a family member with Venus in Scorpio.

A heartbreak can spin him into a deep depression for weeks! Months, even!

He is interesting on many different levels for sure. He has chiron in 6th, inconjunct pluto (out of sign). The sense I get is of a resentment of things his father did (to his mum, ostensibly) - and I also pick up a sense of him not feeling his family is proud of him (classic moon in leo, to be sure).

Instinctively, I feel that he wants to earn the approval of his father - but I have no hard basis for that.

We actually both work with another colleague who has sun-mercury combust, who also has communications issues, but in different ways.

Hers is in the sixth house (the guy has his stellium in the 11th) and definitely struggles with negative feedback at work. It's more challenging as her role is heavily based on a subjective discipline, so it can be difficult to quantify what's right and wrong with something, making feedback even harder to take.

Thanks for this piece Ami - I'd actually never heard the phrase of combust before, so I do appreciate it.

Intriguingly, having just done some top level reading about combusts, I realise the guy has sun-mercury cazimi (within 10 minutes). I realise that opinions differ on the meaning of this (some say it's hugely beneficial, others say it's the worst kind of combust), and I think it's a shame that saturn is also so close as that may filter the impact either way.

Yea, S, I can't see the Cazimi as positive. It is just too close a mixture of energies, in my opinion.

Honestly, it would take a book. But I will share some random observations...

A friend once observed... "She would drive you crazy... You'll never catch her. You only go after the ones you can't catch, never the easy ones."

I remember as a young boy, after hearing my aunt from another state going on about how much she loved me, thinking "Why? She doesn't even really know me." Is love really this random? I am on occasion equally surprised to find out that a person unknown to me loves (or hates) me and I was unaware.

Once a secretary for a long time client told me she was engaged. She then apologized and said she would have dated me if I had asked. I'd seen her for several years in a strictly professional setting and had no idea... No hint... Hey, I'm an 8th house sun, so even though my Taurus Mars is a bit slow, I'm not completely clueless to signals...

I'm not going to tell the whole story of my 30-ish year on again, off again with my ex... Just suffices to say here, married, divorced, got back together for 4 or 5 years, broke up for 10, back together for 7, apart again. Yeah... There's at least 3 chapters right there.

Love is forever. Relationships on the other hand, seem to have a best if used by date on them.

I didn't date at all in my 30's. Married my job. NN Cancer conjunct Venus, SN Capricorn conjunct Ceres. I guess that was me retreating to the comfortable SN...

It's not love that's elusive. I've been blessed all my life with wonderful people who have loved me. Especially if we're not restricting the requirement to male-female romantic relationships. It's the one true love forever (or at least lasting longer than 6 months) version that's hard to come by.

Thanks for sharing, GB. It is not your fault. Our struggles are given to us for reasons that only God knows, but I think it is so we will find Him.

Venus retrogade here, what would you like to know about our experience?
I would say that I’m demanding, maybe due to some insecurities. I need emotional connection, as well as a sensitive and empathic partner. At first I was quite an idealist but I came to realise that love is not about big passions but actually the little things.

I've noticed this for a while now.

First you write an article slagging off placements.l, "ohhh saad saddd placements..."

Then you offer them your pity, "But God has given them to us for a reason...."

What a load of bull$hit.

I have Venus conj Saturn. NOTHING is good enough for me! I can never work enough. Be perfectionist enough. Be pretty enough. Have nice clothes enough. Etc etc
BUT, I am extremely slack with others and demand next to nothing except lying which I won’t tolerate!
I have my Cap Moon opposite Venus and Saturn and that moon, especially when it comes to work ethics, is relentless, and I can be a real b*tch to work with/for :-/

I only had one relationship so far and it’s with my actual husband. We’ve known each other for more than a decade.
Before I was very idealistic. I longed and dreamed for a partner with whom I could have a deep connection. Yet my husband is the pragmatic, not so expressive type. At first this difference made me insecure because it wasn’t what I expected. My expectations were fed by the media, and so when things didn’t go as expected I thought it was a sign that we were not meant to be.
Thought I ended up learning that he loves me in his own way and it’s actually the little things that counts.

But it’s been hard sometimes. I often felt that something was lacking despite the love being present. I felt a lack of emotional connection and there is a lack of emotional understanding and support at times. So sometimes I feel alone in the relationship. My husband is not good with emotions and empathizing and he can be critical. This affects me a lot and I often react strongly emotional feeling that we might not be good together.
I guess that I have an easier time with empathizing and emotions. Yet towards him I feel like I’ve been closing myself and become less empathetic with him due to resentment.

I still try to be as honest and attempt to talk things over as possible, but despite him caring about me it feels like he can’t really understand and eventually belittles the problem.
Our composite perfectly shows our dynamics through symbolism. There are just so much unconscious dynamics at play that hurts the relthionship. It’s as if sensitivity is there but blocked by criticism and selfishness. I wish that I could show him this but he’s not into astrology.

Sometimes I feel sad that the one thing I want the most, emotional connection, is what I’m not getting. On the other hand we love each other.

Currently I’m going through Pluto square my Aries Moon, Mercury and Venus transit so you can say that I’m getting a hard time with some reflections, specially about myself. It feels as if one of the lessons I might have to reflect on is how relationships, including family, might not go as we expected and people have their baggages and imperfections too, and what I could feel or do about it. Coming to peace and acknowledging their care for me despite not always having understanding or even proper support or care. Somethig like that. Dealing with my own hurts and wanting to be with them despite the lack of connection, what expectations are ok and if I’m expecting too much or actually I should not cling onto it.
