Saturn returns every 29 years or so, occurring in our late 20's (28-29), late 50's and late 80's.

Here are the changes I've noted in people I know near their Saturn return:

*A friend of mine finally got his life together and got a stable, well paying job and became more hardworking and disciplined than ever.

*For my sister's SR, she got married.

*A friend is currently GOING through it right now, and she's finally done with her studies and is working to get a job that pays her enough so that she can move out of her parents' house.

*Another friend had his some years back, and it was around that time he finally decided to stop partying and getting high all the time, and began to build a life for himself and work on learning new skills.

*A friend found the man of her dreams, who also her first relationship ever.

That's what comes to mind now. What about you?

I haven't had my Saturn Return yet, but based on how I am currently, I can determine potential situations that may pop up around that time.

First off, it is unlikely that I'll be able to pinpoint exactly what will happen during my Saturn Return. I can pinpoint only possibilities.

My natal Satun in Aquarius is in 3rd house.

-I want to be a writer. It's possible I'll get started on my first novel during my Saturn Return.

-With Saturn in Aquarius, I could go into something related to technology like coding or software development. This isn't as likely, but I do have the potential to learn these things.

-I could get married.

-I could learn to drive.

-I could develop a better relationship with my brother.

-I could develop problems with my teeth.

-I could get a job. My Sun in 6th house squares my Saturn.

-I could potentially experience a nasty break-up. When Saturn enters Aquarius, it will shortly after that oppose my natal Chiron and square my natal Venus.

I retrace back during those time I went through my first SR. Those were the time I did not studied Astrology. My life changed a lot after. My SR is a bit different from what I read from others. I learn to have a little more fun than being serious with my life.

My dog, of 14 years, passed away when Saturn hasn't made its way to conjunct my natal Saturn (9 degree). It was quite devastating because she was like my therapy dog. I took care of her mostly on my own so I develop an attachment towards her. Natal Saturn is in my 6th house, which is scary because it is also the house of routine and taking care of pets. When Saturn made its entrance to 6th house, I traveled 300 miles away from home along with my dog. During this time I was unemployed because my contract ended but I had some savings. I decided to be unemployed and reflect to spend the rest of my remaining year to be with my dog. I was too absorb in my studies and job during her early days.

I wanted to explore on my own with my dog. Best memories I created with her. I had no regrets. (Saturn in Sagittarius).

Way before SR, my routine was basically studies, work and my pet. I never contribute into traveling and expand my knowledge outside of my neighboring life. After my dog passed away (Saturn retrograded I believe back to my 6th house), I made several plans. Traveled several places, New York and Hong Kong/Macau without anyone holding me back (Saturn conjunct natal Saturn when I made my first travel, 0 degree). I broke my routine. I think it is important for me to break my routine once in a while and not get too absorb.

-------------

I want to add that my brother is going through his right now. A year before he was talking about moving out of our parents house. He moved out less in a month ago. I checked his chart earlier, Saturn conjunct his Saturn by less than 1 degree.

Very intetesting topic you raised. Never get tired of talking about Saturn.

Prior to getting the return, one usually has a pressing issue pending an outcome/solution or decision.

My Saturn is in the 7th conjunct to Venus. Saturn is also parallel to the 11th. Its a very sober position for relationships as well as friendships. And my return coincided with my birthday.

I remember eating alone at a restaurant and feeling deeply unhappy about the direction my life was progressing towards. And just as helpless to stop it.

For me I didn't feel like i "straightened" up. I just fell apart.

@SimplyLuna thank you for sharing that. And it sounds like you really loved your dog a lot.
But that you broke your routine was quite something to read about.

@Mkya00 those are two quite life changing events, and one is quite hard to endure.

I wish I could give you a hug.

But as courage wolf says: "So, you've hit rock bottom? SOLID FOUNDATION TO BUILD ON!" (or to that effect)

Lalafortunaea, indeed. And now my marriages is beginning to end, we are starting the process of separating. A lot of this has to do with my mid-life crisis Uranus aspect as well as other fate aspects. I met my Twin Flame (not a guess), and it has changed things.

I mention this because my father's death left clues. The day of his death my Twin Flame's name asteroid was conj. my ASC, and my name asteroid was conj. her MC.

There are other incredibly crazy family connections between both of us which made me look into this.

So, everything for a reason - even the painful stuff.

Nope. Nothing changed afterwards. My Saturn Return was very peaceful and was the only time in my life when I felt happy. When it ended, my life returned to utter hell.

I was born in my mom's Saturn return, she says that's her big change back in 1987, in 2016 we both had our Saturn Returns at the same time, going back and fort with the retro motion.

My mom this time lost her job, she was the boss and she got cut off from the company, her Saturn sits on her 8th.

I around those months of my Saturn Return was having financial instability, Saturn sits on my 2nd house and rules my 3rd house, that year I travel back and fort because I had a job in another city, earn some money but had to work like that to get it, I haven't felt stable in the money department in YEARS, I'm 30 and getting a job its been a struggle, Saturn is still there on my 2nd house and will be there till next year when moves 14 degrees Capricorn in which maybe see things differently and waiting for this Saturn in 3rd house experience.

Saturn return is basically a stage of maturation? I have a saturn in the ascendant (capricorn) very saturnine, but I do not identify with the ascendant, I am not hard worker, I have little discipline etc. I have very good aspects of Saturn with the rest of the planets, even though it costs me the discipline..

Currently I am transiting pluto conj saturn and next year I have saturn return, pluto conj asc and saturn conj asc.

I think this is a 100% transformation.

The thing I always heard - and have seen ring true - is if you're on the right path, doing what you're 'supposed' to be doing, your saturn return is an easy, affirming ride.

If (like most of us), there is 'work' for you to be done to get on your life track, then that will come in quite suddenly around saturn returns.

Going through this process will undoubtedly create perspective and maturity, and a chance to see life through a wider lens.

The other thing to remember is that any natal aspects to saturn get repeated, too - so for me, I have a venus-saturn square. I got engaged to and broke up with someone around my saturn return (and then 7 years later, broke up with someone else ha).

Mine is coming once Saturn goes into Cappy in December.

You can't count on anything 100%, because things change, or life is just plain unpredictable.

But I do have a game plan, the first time in 10 years.

I was just thinking earlier, how in the show Once Upon a Time, the protag, Emma, has her life change on her 28th birthday. Certainly in fiction a character's life can change at any moment, same is true for RL, but there seems to be some unconscious understanding.

And it also makes me think of the 27 club. Of course, people do die at other ages, and simple science won't come to any conclusions about age 27, but, I wonder if this could be somewhat explained astrologically? And if, perhaps, SR plays a part.

My SR was a good one.
i got a nice stable job and was able to work hard and advance, and get paid more. I also built my career out of it and gained a lot of experience.
it wasnt all smooth sailing, but it was a good experience..
My Saturn is in 6th house with a tight conjunction to Jupiter and a sextile to Uranus..

I wonder about anyone's story of SR in their 9th house?

And I read this:
"People who were born during the day tend to experience their Saturn returns as being a more constructive time during their lives, while people who were born at night tend to experience their Saturn returns as being more difficult."

I was a night baby... yay

@Sandra, thanks for sharing. Certainly wouldn't be smooth sailing. Saturn is a tad severe.
