I'm asking because it has had me seriously confused for sometime. This is going to sound dense but sometimes my brain is backwards. Please someone reply who believes 13 sign Astrology. I always hear of Ophiuchus as a Sun sign and how it changes some people's Sun from their old signs. Ok, but if we are to use 13 signs, why doesn't Ophiuchus operate at angles or with planets 'Other than the Sun? For instance wouldn't everything need recalibrated to properly use Ophiuchus?
Am I alone at wondering this? IP: Logged |

There's a difference between Sidereal and the Zodiac.13 Signs = Sidereal (Actual Constellations-- The Vedics use Sidereal also.) 12 Signs = Zodiac (traditional Western astrology, Tropical) <ref removed> IP: Logged |

Yeah everything would have to be recalibrated, the position of the planets in birth chart may also change for lots of people. I think even if 13 signs actually exist, astrologers would think twice before using it coz they'd have to change the whole system for it to fit, gather new informations......too much to lose. I think Vedic astrologers refrain from using the outer planets because of the same reason.IP: Logged |

Thank you Mirage. ☺ Yes, I've watched his vids and other Vedic ones too but Nobody has ever addressed the concept of Ophuchis rising Or other planets, angles ruled by ophuchis. IP: Logged |

Thank you, anonymidarkness. I wondered so long. I appreciate your reply. It is too bad that with computers, as we have such sophisticated ones currently, that the reconfiguration couldn't be pretty simple. I admit to being highly curious how a sidereal chart using Ophuchis might look. For myself as well many others.

Vedic doesn't put much emphasis on signs in my observation, it's mostly about houses, nakshatras and yogas, but even they would have to use 13 houses if Ophiucus is a valid sign. IP: Logged |

MoonMystic... If you regularly listen to his videos, he goes into it. Look through some of the video files. Look for the Ophiuchus vids. Scorpio - Ophiuchus - Sagittarius. If you really want to know, the information IS there. The other thing you could do is take the time to contact him. He'd appreciate the idea, or, could steer you towards the vids that contain the information you need/desire. He has the BEST info on this part of the sky (that I've seen). I also trust him, as a balanced and learned, spiritual person. You could book a reading with him also... and ask him DIRECTLY. I guess you have a Sun in Ophiuchus? (You didn't answer my question when I asked you before.) Wishing you a Happy Birthday.

The other suggestion I'd have for you is to study Galactic Center material, as this part of the sky contains it.One more would be to look up material about the THIRD Decan of Sagittarius. As your birthday advances, I'm sure there will be more and more material available in the vid-astrology offerings. Best of luck to you. IP: Logged |

I appreciate you too. You're a hard worker, always adding interesting material. I know some of the careful effort involved in putting together those asteroid-lists. You are astounding! LOL. I forgot about your Saggy Ascendant. Yes, I think it was near my own. There's been a boost in my voraciousness and interest in buckling-down to learn more, too. Also, I've found a delightful surprise of experiencing a quantum leap in understanding recently, which ITSELF is so darn rewarding. *slurp* Hey! Urania (muse of astrology) recently joined the transit-party through Sag... our first house. And maybe with Mercury in Sag joining Saturn in last Sag--- trine Uranus Aries, and a resolving Trine to NN Leo--- it got energized??? FIRE!!! Gurl???? *snap* Tsk, We Be on FIRE!!!!!!! {Your 2Decan Aquarius Sun trines my SagAsc!! *grin*} You've got Birthday Parties and Celebrations coming up. Cosmic Birthday Greetings for your Beloveds!! Astrology has a way of getting under your skin. Like words to this song ...

Sidereal does not always use the 13 signs does it though? Doesn't Vedic astrology make us of sidereal? I have never seen 13 signs being used in Vedic astrology before. "Sidereal" is simply referring to the method of calculation of the placement of the signs. In sidereal, you use sidereal time so all of the signs in a chart go back about 24 degrees...but there is no Ophiciuhus or however you spell this lol.IP: Logged |
