After that expect problems. They'll start to restrict what you can and can't do because they were somehow hurt in the past in a unrelated event which has absolutely no correlation and think there helping you by making you avoid the same injury they had gone through.

Lets say you come up with a million dollar idea thats sure to work, they lost there money in something else thats unrelated.
Then they start to develop a negative opinion of every entrepreneur, even the successful ones and prevent you from becoming a successful one.

The point is there poor past decisions do not reflect there chidlrens decisions. I'd assume you would use logic and reasoning to avoid disaster they use emotions.

...But they did provide me with a warm home to go to which I am appreciative.

Thanks to them I live in a desirable downtown condo within walking distance to everything.
