Hello,

I have the south node in Virgo and I was thinking of becoming a nurse. However I'm kind of worried because I feel as if the health scene may not be for me.

Does anyone else work in the health field who also has South Node in Virgo? Are you happy with your career?

The same question can apply to any sign on the south node. For example If you have South Node in Sagittarius, do you feel that traveling and higher education isn't exactly something you desire?... Or does that make you happy? Or if you have South Node in Cancer, is parenting and children not exactly something you want either?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

My grandmother had a South Node in Cancer. She was a parent, but she was also very accomplished and very energetic for most of her life. She seemed to thrive more in the career department than in parenting. I also have a South Node in Cancer and I feel I am probably similar to her in that I wouldn't be the best at parenting and probably better at managing my career.

I have Southnode in sagittarius and have a masters degree and if it was up to me I would move from one place to another indefinitely so I can experience living in many different parts of the world till I die, that would be my ideal life style periodically move from one place to another. I get bored if I stay anywhere too long. My jobs tend to involve long commute or lots of driving.

My partner has Southnode in aquarius and if it was up to him I think he would love to live in space in some futuristic community. When I met him he was the manager of a small computer repair store. He needs to work for himself, is very challenging for him to work for others. He needs to do his own thing.

Virgo is not just the health industry, it can also involve research, cleaning, organizing, animals like grooming dogs or boarding, repair work of any kind, or service work of any kind....

I have mine in Libra. I'm an environmental science student so dunno if its libra related. I have 9th house Sun and Mercury in Taurus, I'm a nature and animal lover and wanna work with nature regarding things.

I also have a 10th house stellium in Gemini but not interested in communications media or whatnot thats regarding gemini. I guess one have to look at all planets and aspects to the 10th house or 6th house. Not everyone is working with their "true call" if now S.node stands for that.

My true call would be "animal care". But its not possible to have a real carrier nor find good jobs in that sector sadly. Also I'm against zoos and keeping animals in zoos so thats that lol. I would love to open a "wild animal rehability center" if it would be possible in the fauture and work with it in my retirement years

I also have SN in Virgo in the 9th H. I do work in the medical field - but I do not want to work in the medical field forever.

I have a Libra MC opposite Aries Mars - my real goal is to open a dance club and be my own boss

Where is your NN/SN located? That may help give you more guidance for your purpose along with MC and aspects.

My south node is in scorpio. I currently work as a cardiac nurse in the ICU. I would strongly advise against going into nursing. The stress is unbelievable and you will destroy your body. I strongly recommend becoming a Physical Therapist or Optometrist instead. The hours are much better and the job is a lot more laid-back.

I also agree that unless you have placements that thrive on pressure, nursing could be challenging. As anything can happen and often does.

Not to rain on your parade, just a perspective. The good news however is that the job is in demand, so u are sure to find employment. And it is also very rewarding emotionally- well according to the people whom I know are in the nursing profession.

I have South Node in Sagittarius conjunct Uranus. And I feel that its a placement that has an element of loneliness to it. Because its attracted to all that is non mainstream and eccletic.

I have been unsuccessful in stabilizing my career. I just feel like I am not passionate about anything I do or get into. And perhaps Uranus contributes to being a rolling stone? Its really tough as I get depressed about this.

Look to the 6th house cusp as well. Mine has Mars therein and a tumultuous path I have travelled when it comes to my employment history. Not content. Not happy. Not satisfied.

My south node is not in Virgo, but it is in my 6th house. Mine is actually in Leo. I'm also a triple Virgo. I became a nurse pretty early in life.

I studied art before becoming a nurse, and it felt very "selfish." I could never rationalize how I was spending my time and energy with my end goal. I don't have that problem with nursing. I know every single day that when my shift is over, I did everything I could do to help my patients as much as humanly possible. So there's that, if you're one of those people who needs to feel needed and of use. But it is also intensely stressful, challenging and emotionally charged at times. Every shift isn't like that, but when it happens, it can be too much to deal with if you aren't expecting it or haven't dealt with it before.

Overall, I like nursing and I would definitely choose it again. But I encourage anyone who wants to go into the field to do their research first.

No quoting please!

Nursing would terrify me. I'm not cut out for it. I can take care of someone/something to a certain point, but that's it.

Strangely, though, I found parts of the hospital comforting, when my mum was there. I escaped to the cafeteria, which was nicely furnished, and had large windows.

I used to consider myself an artist - nodes square my Mars in Pisces, and my south node is conjunct Moon/Venus in Gemini. Drawing and painting relaxed me, and I was also very intuitive. I think it made me pretty psychic in ways, just because I was more relaxed/zoned out. It also made my everyday life better, for that reason. I would focus there, and then move onto something else - at the end of a marathon painting session, I would be stiff and cold, exhausted, and starving - I'd go to the kitchen, put on the kettle, and make some food. I remember eating oven chips, or ramen noodles at 5am, watching something on Nick at Nite. Then crawling into bed. But it relaxed me in the rest of my life.

A friend of mine just posted that the self-doubt that comes from being an artist, leaves her wishing she'd become a lawyer instead. I think that art helps people in ways - like losing yourself in a movie, or decorating with something that you think it pretty, or affects you in some way. I sold a painting when I was nineteen, to someone who said it looked "spiritual".

I really miss those days of losing myself in sketching, sitting around the dining room table with my mum, sister, and anyone who was visiting. Talking, practicing my drawing skills, etc.

Great thread topic 😊

Two things to add here is 1- South Node is the comfort zone and where we start out, so it might indicate a spring board for a career but that career will probably change

2- the house can add loads of information as well

That said 😁 my SN is in Aquarius in the first house. I used to be a journalist - which is as much aquarian as it is mercurial arguably. I now work in the web field.

The SN-NN conflict for me comes in writing what I've been told to, versus writing/creating what I want (Leo NN).

I think as a point of strength, we can look to combine the SN-NN strengths for a perfect career.

Eg - if doing art feels too selfish for your Pisces NN, look at using your art talent to help others through art therapy perhaps, or selling your work to raise money for charity, for example, to satisfy your Virgo SN.

For me, that might be finding a way of being able to write/create what I want, while also serving the needs of the audience (Aquarius). That way it's not completely 'self-indulgent' and is genuinely useful.

South Node in Capricorn 4º in house XI conjuncted Venus, Mercury and Ceres.

I've worked as a secretary in multinationals and great corporations and it's not my career goal at all. I hated it.

My NN is Cancer V house and also this signs goes in my VI house, natal moon (ruler of the NN) is at 29º Scorpio conjuncted MC. I don't know exactly what it could be my perfect job, I've always struggled with this, it might be my natal Uranus conjuncted Moon and MC.

I can't see myself ever doing art again. I'm too much of a perfectionist to ever feel "finished" with something. It ends up opening doors that I wish never would have been opened. I don't have that problem with nursing, however - my shift eventually comes to an end and there's no more work to be done. It's up to someone else at that point to continue the same work.

I prefer to satisfy my 12th house through service and compassion. I feel much more wholesome when I make a donation to a worthy cause or feed a homeless person or care for an abandoned animal. I don't feel like creativity is the only way to fulfill the 12th house.

Career wise, I will likely stay in healthcare and either become a provider (PA or NP) or go into research. I plan to do something entirely different later on (after I've retired from nursing) like own my business.

That's exactly what I sold my painting for. To get a stray cat and her kittens to a vet. I adopted all of them.

My aunts were/are great bakers. They made beautiful cakes. One made one for me to raffle off at school, when I was thirteen, to raise money.

Everything is valid. I've wanted to knit hats for preemie babies. Cat beds for shelter cats. They were said to help relax them.

I have my NN in Virgo in my 12 house and my SN in Pisces in my 6th house. I use to want to be a nurse and study to the point I got my PA but changed my mind a few years back , decided that I wanted to my Psychology degree to help kids who grew up like I did.

My ex-best friend has South Node in Leo and she's / was an art teacher... My sister has the South Node in Libra and she's a psychologist (but that must also because the ruler of her 10 house is in 8th house)... South Node relates to some capacities I think. Some celebrities have South Node in Leo and like to go on stage, comedians...

What about a South Node in Capricorn conjunct Venus and Mercury in house XI?.

As I said above I have worked as a secretary and I really hated it, large corporations, in the Golden Mile of the city, suitcases as dress code, really really hated it 'cause I'm a Sadge Sun with Aqua AC and you cannot force a hippy to wear a suit to put her working in those megacompanies!.

I also worked as a teacher and I loved it.

What are your thoughts about a South Node Capricorn and professions?

My NN is in Cancer house V.

Very good topic. I think the SN
may be indicative of what we naturally
can take up. The house (and it's
axis) I believe can be important too.

I'm editing my original reply out. Now that
my nodes have changed, I need to study
the 4th and 10th houses. I swapped to
whole house, it effected the nodes
(which 3&9 felt right).
