Martin Luther King Jr. A Model of Capricorn Ambition

Today is Martin Luther King Jr.'s day which in the US is a holiday. His life and the effect he had on American politics, civil rights and social issues is profound and it is fitting that he is a Capricorn. For these reasons I will run through MLK's natal chart.

Martin Luther King Jr is very earthy with Capricorn sun born January 15, 1929. His Midheaven/MC is in Capricorn and is at the top of his chart. His is a true model of Capricorn ambition. Successful in his goals, he reached the top of his "career" as a social activist. He's has won the Nobel Peace Prize among numerous accolades, all while leaving a great legacy.

The Signing of the Civil Rights Act, 1961
MLK Jr also has Taurus ascendant and Jupiter which means in his life he was stubborn, earthy, and charismatic. He stood his ground and did not bug (Taurus is after all the most stubborn sign of the zodiac). His ideals and values were earthy, grounded and completely realistic (even in unrealistic times).

His Venus and Moon were in Pisces, this can explain his selflessness, sensitivity, and self-sacrificing nature. He took an atypical Capricorn life path when he devoted his life to civil rights and speaking for the underdog and the disenfranchised of society. Capricorn won't do that, but Pisces will, they must, and are called by the heavens to do so. Pisces is, after all, the most compassionate sign of the zodiac. He risked his families life and risked and ultimately sacrificed his own life for the people.

His Mercury Aquarius- which represents a unique, rebellious, stubborn and inventive thinker and speaker. Similar to Pisces Aquarius is humanitarian in nature. Here Aquarius is detached and focused on humanity and the rights of man.

His Mars in Gemini making him fast moving and communicative. He focus on putting his message out there. Gifted orator he moved people with his words, ideals, and values. He used and persuaded people (including presidents) with his wit, intelligence, and charm.

His Saturn is in Sagittarius. In his life he started out as a pastor having been brought up in a religious background. Even so, he broke out of this set in stone career path and decided to pursuit of justice and the ideals of Saturn in Sagittarius. He stretched and broke boundaries associated with race and social issues. One of his beliefs was desegregation which is very Saturn in Sagittarian in nature. It's Sagittarian because he broke down boundaries and promoted the unity of two different peoples (black and white).

His Uranus is in Aries, so he was rebellious in a fiery passionate and dynamic way. He even ironically rebelled even amongst his innate Uranus in Aries nature by promoting non-violence. This is ironic because Uranus is the planet of rebellion and Aries is ruled by the god of war, Mars. He went against all this and decided to take up a nonviolence philosophy.

Overall he was great and should be honored. Happy MLK day!
