wfbader and his post about his ASC being between two signs made me think about this!my daughters ASC is 0 virgo. Right now she is still young but I see very little Virgo happening in her. She is not orderly, routing, regimented, or anything of the like. She does have a massive head full of hair, ala the lion's mane. So if the hospital was off by a few minutes she would be a Leo ASC. But even if the time is right, with her sign being on the cusp, would she show elements of both signs? She is pretty grounded, but she is a taurus venus and mercury. And though she is a Gem Moon, her moon is conjunct Saturn. She's wiser than she should be for her age and very steady in her demeanor. As Virgo is Mercury and Mercury is in Taurus, we would see some of this in her appearance and personality too, right? So again, more of a Taurus vibe to her Virgo ASC. It does take a ton to really rile her up. What do you all say and what is your experience here? Thanks wfbader for the inspiration!

No planets conjunct the Asc/parallel?How old is your daughter? I think the Asc sign just "is". Its just there. With Virgo/Gem Asc what I have noticed is a bright and alert individual. Watch out for a quick mental uptake i.e they tend to get puns/innuendos and sarcastic humour when young. And they usually delight in mental puzzles or word games like scrabble or hangman. With Leo Asc, I have noticed one trait that sticks out with the one I know: The desire to talk about themselves or be the centre of the conversation somehow. Virgo Asc is more receptive and listens. But they usually have something well thought out to say. They don't like interrupting and will let you finish your sentences. Fire Asc unlike earth Asc, don't let you finish what you were going to say. Often butting in with examples of "You know. When that happened to me..." or " I went though something of that nature and I..." There is always an inherent need to talk about themselves through you. These are just my findings. IP: Logged |

Hahaha! You're spot on.Girl is a Virgo asc according to your description. She's very thoughtful and waits for others to speak, loves logic puzzles and mental logic and games. She's not one to make herself the center of any conversation and shows more thoughtfulness and repose than any grown adult I know. She's 14. She has nothing conjunct her ASC, but uranus conjunct DSC. Mercury is widely parallel her ASC (2 degree difference). This makes sense, but she's a Gem Sun and Moon. She's very very cerebral, even at 14. IP: Logged |

No. The Asc is not a body, so it has no diameter (to hang partly over into the preceding sign). The only way there is a combination of signs rising is if the Asc is correctly placed late in the sign, the following sign then taking up a great portion of the 1st house. So the question is not one of whether there is a combination personality (compromise interpretation) of Asc, but of the exact accuracy of it. Hospital records are not authoritative in such cases. You may not know for many years if Leo is more in line with her personality than Virgo. A 'mane' of hair will not make such a determination certain. Will power and stubbornness are clues of Leo over pliant and rational Virgo. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology - by the declinations guy Declinations: because the planets move north and south of the celestial equator IP: Logged |

No, willpower and stubbornness don't strike me as her really. I don't think she's a Leo, other than for all her quietude and reticence, she has a side to her that loves to perform. But it's a quiet understated performance. She's confident onstage, but not showy. But I am the converse of her, and what you said is interesting. My ASC is Scorpio 28, so the majority of my first house is in Sag. Would this contribute to me having more Sag type features in my presentation of myself? I feel like a Sag sometimes, but I also have Jupiter conjunct Sun. In 8th, so here we are back to reinforcing both Pluto and Jupiter/Scorpio and Sag. IP: Logged | |
