Did you ever suspect that your rising sign was 'off'?Like you felt that you acted differently than your previously believed Taurus rising?? IP: Logged |

yeah but I thought it was just because I'm a Gemini and it's the total opposite of Taurus so I was just like you know what naw it's cuz I am naturally an air sign. But welp, I'm fire rising it turns out.

I was quipping that in having realised that you're an Aries Rising, your user-name is now obsolete but that it could be worse, had you had invested in a Taurus Rising tattoo. IP: Logged |

Same thing happened with me. Thought I was a Taurus and the username that u see is actually Juno. But then I found out through rectification that Aries is Ascending and since the degree of the Asc is close to Juno,I was like....whatever! The realization that the previous Asc was off was not immediate. The Asc is instinctive in nature and unless conjunct the Moon or Sun,it takes minute to minute, moment to moment "catching" yourself off to see it. I doubted the rectified placement of Aries a lot.Because it didn't "feel" right: I am not aggressive as described nor combative. But when with others, these qualities do come out. Why was I so blind and unaware? The aggression, the passion, the combative style and impatience. How does it change your house placements though?

I relate a bit. For years, I went nuts over being considered a Sagittarius Ascendant. One day, after I had recently read about inaccurate birth times, an idea hit me that my birth certificate could be wrong, especially since my birth certificate has a birth time that puts my Ascendant in a very early degree.Anyway, I know that I do not always see myself accurately, but my astrology chart only started to make sense when I considered that I could be a Scorpio Ascendant instead. Of course, there were some doubts involved in this process, but this could have just been Saturn going through my 1st house and numbing my usual qualities. I remember wondering if I could reasonably consider myself a Scorpio Ascendant when I didn't feel like I knew myself well enough to make that judgment. When I was rectifying my chart, I got the degree wrong. This isn't too surprising to me since I'm no professional at rectification. The real degree of my Ascendant turned out to be within orb for transit Saturn's first conjunction to my Ascendant, which just so happened to be around the time I had a dream talking about what I assume could have been a reference to Saturn. At the very least, it makes an interesting story and I like bringing up this experience since Saturn's conjunction to my Ascendant is basically the only answer I have to satisfy my Gemini Moon's curiosity in regards to how that dream went and how it may have progressed if I wasn't crippled by fear from the presence of a talking dinosaur. Regardless, it's nice that you know your real Ascendant now. I was relieved when I could actually relate to my chart after getting my Ascendant rectified. Finding out your chart is actually a bit different than you thought can be a nice discovery and it can really help clear things up a bit. My progressed Ascendant, however, is still in Sagittarius and it will be there for nearly another decade. It feels like it's already in Capricorn, but that may just be lingering effects of how Saturn through my 1st house impacted me. I'm definitely not as silly as before and I don't think my silliness will ever return to how it was before Saturn put me to work. @Aries23Degrees: Your post reminds me of my confusion over how I have two personal planets in Aries, Mercury and Mars. The aggression, passion, and combative nature that Aries is known for didn't feel accurate for me. Then everything changed when transit Uranus was conjunct my Mercury. It was like years of suppressed anger rose to the surface and for about two months I was dealing with non-stop anger that I somehow managed to keep under control. While the transit did have other effects on me, I'm a lot less terrified of anger now - at least, when anger is what's present and not rage. Since that day, these placements apply to me more than I thought. In fact, I've stumbled upon past things I've written before the Uranus transit occurred and there were definitely times when the aggression came out even when I couldn't pick up on it before. I'm also a lot more blunt than I viewed myself before. IP: Logged |

I just don't feel like I'm THAT combative. I am very very impatient though, and my temper is a bit explosive if pushed far enough...I thought that was myMars though. IP: Logged |

My Asc in action; In a crowd of strangers . I walk in and say "hi everyone" I tend to think of most things as a competition. I am the first to put my hands up in class ,the first to initiate a discussion, first to question an authority figure if I disagree with them. I get appointed to leadership positions quickly. I am quick to start things and don't finish as enthusiasm gets lost I burn out a lot and need "re-pumping". I tend to understate what's involved in a task. I bump my head on things a lot because I literally just " walk into it" I interrupt people a lot and can be a "buttinsky" IP: Logged |

LOL I had the same thing happen to me! I relied on my mothers memory of my birthtime. She told me I was born at 7:30am so all this time I thought I was an Aries rising! For a few years already. Until I FINALLY got a hold of my birth certificate, turns out I was actually born at 5:24am and that changed my chart a lot. Im actually an Aquarius rising. I didnt feel at all like an Aries rising. Everytime I looked up Aries rising it was completely different from me. Im inalthletic as heck! Not fast at all. Always lare everywhere I go and my family always conplains I take my time doing things. I actually felt more like a Pisces rising but having an Aquarius Rising put my Pisces planets in the 1st house which probably explains that (: haha it's amazing when you finally know your true birthtime.------------------ I appreciate the masterpiece that is you, because your existence alone is art IP: Logged |
