I’m asking because after weeks of issues at one of my jobs my manager and I mutually agreed to end my employment there.
I’m in a city by myself with no close friends or family and I’m keen to move home to a beach town where family and friends are close and the lifestyle is way my conducive to how I want to be living.
Also the apartment I’m living in is being sold by the owner, I have no ties and no reason to stay here. I’m so unhappy here and have no support network.
Would making such a big decision right now really be that bad?
Even my housemate is terrible.
I’ve been considering making this move for a while but now more than ever it feels like the right time. Transitting mercury is conjunct my NN in the 2nd house rn.

Mercury Retrograde, imo, slows down brain activity and allows you to focus on an issue and go deep.

This is the perfect window to think things through. Weigh the pros and cons.

Take action after Mercury goes direct.

I am pretty sure I have. One thing I did that comes to mind, is I moved to run away from issues. Of course, they followed me wherever I went until I was forced to look inside.

I’ll try to hold off until it goes direct if I can. I’ve been thinking about this for a while and it just feels like everything has aligned to push me to make the move now.
I’m just hoping it won’t become a new nightmare!

also it is jupiter retrograde, which is causing more introspection as well and giving you the opportunity to right wrong choices

I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

If it makes you feel better, I bought a house a few years ago during a mercury retrograde. To this day, I have absolutely zero regrets. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I should disclose that I read the contract several times before signing (it was quite long at 50+ pages). It's perfectly fine to make big decisions during mercury retro but you need to make sure you double check everything.

What you need to do right now is move where there is a job. Don't move back home simply because you find it comforting. You should only move back home if you need some time to figure out your next move or if there is a job that really intrigues you.

In order to grow in life, you need to take risks. This is an opportunity for you to think about what you really want to do. Your actions should have a sense of purpose behind them.

Have you completed trade school or college? If not, then now is the time to think about building a lucrative skill. If this is the case, then moving back home and living with your parents will help you save some money while you complete school.

Does your current city have more job opportunities than your hometown? If so, then you may want to stick around or find another city with more job opportunities. If you really hate the city in which you are currently living, then by all means move. You should not, however, move because you are lonely. Get out there and meet people. Do some networking. A new friend can potentially find a great job for you.

Thank you for the reply!

Well I still have another job is this city; they seem happy with me too, I can just feel my time here is done. I came here to complete my degree at the best university for design in the country and have accomplished that, as well as gaining a ton of experience in industry which will set me apart from other candidates back home.

And there is a job opportunity I am being considered for near home which would be ideal in terms of location and career progression.

It's always been the place I said I'd move to when it was time to start my label and I feel the universe is speeding things up A LOT for me right now and telling me to go and do it.

Everything is aligning perfectly to support this decision and it's something I've been considering for a long time it's just that now I feel is really the moment to strike.

Realistically I probably wont be able to move until the retrograde is over anyway but I am having to get the ball rolling now in terms of exiting my current living situation etc.

And yes that does make me feel better!!

Yep, moved to Oregon during Mercury-Rx. An astrologer gave me unsolicited advice telling me I shouldn't go. Sorry, but that $#!ts for fraidy-cats. It was already done, because I had co-created this transition and that overrides any piddling temporary astrological factors like Mercury-Rx.

Good luck on your changes, cultstatus.

Mercury-Rx doesn't really prevent anything that needs to get done. It just requires you be attentive to the details and check your list twice, be sensitive to changing information and adapt. It might still throw a bit of a kink in things, but that's life. You'll be fine.

Interestingly as soon as I made my intention to move known to family and my housemate that very day one of my best friends called to advise she was moving to my city, and then my boss wanted to discuss an opportunity for me. I guess I’m being challenged to make sure this is really what I want because had I not told people my plans this new information would have definitely influenced my decision and I possibly wouldn’t have made it.

I'm surprised not many threads on Mercury rx on here yet!

I am about to sign a lease with my fiance tomorrow for a rental place we found. We have looked everywhere and this place has everything we need. I personally want to look for more places but the landlord is rushing to fill her suite for April.

The fact that tMercury is conjunct my Mars/Venus in 4th house and tKarma on my Asc is kinda making me nervous lol! Are we deciding on this too quickly? Should we wait and look for check out more places? I have no clue...

However, as some PP have mentioned, life will throw us curve balls and we all have to learn to catch them or dodge them or whatever to survive! Give yourself time to clear your mind and organize your thoughts!

Good luck OP!

So I just wanted to come back here and update now that we are at the tail end of mercury retrograde and the new moon is looming too.

I have planted seeds to make my move and suddenly they’re all about to bloom - I have an interview with the COO of an incredibly successful fashion company that just so happens to be located in the exact smallish beachside town I am planning on moving to.

My nightmare housemate found someone she wants to move in and take over my lease.

My other boss finally chased me up about the design research she wanted me to do a while ago. Unfortunately it’s too late as I’ve already made up my mind to move. She hasn’t actually put an offer on the table either and right now I’m chasing stability.

I even reached out to an old boss who seemed overjoyed to hear from me and who I know will be the ideal reference for the promising job opp I’m going for.

I’m actually SHOOK over how well everything is suddenly coming together.

I guess I’d say this has allowed me time to really think deeply about the ramifications of my decision and plant little seeds to test the waters and see if things would actually align. They have, and i will be moving before the end of the month!

I agree. This Mercury retrograde is giving me time to think through the details, and giving me time to tie up loose ends.
