Things here just "seem" to be a write off because of no meeting point. The operative word here being "seem". And we often ask of a quincunx " what's the use?"

If Uranus and Mercury are in the mix, this means an interest/talent or skills in dealing with complex problems. These could be psychological,technical or mathematical (Uranus).

But they have no immediate impact on your everyday existence(Merc)& seem like a 'waste' of time to indulge in(quincunx)

Consider the solar Arc progression in 30 years time i.e 6 Taurus Mercury inconjunct to 6 Sag Uranus.

Those two planets will be 6 Gem Merc and 6 Cap respectively.

So when compared to natal,Solar arc Mercury in 6 Gem will oppose natal 6 Sag Uranus. And Solar arc progressed 6 Cap Uranus will trine natal 6 Taurus Mercury. At the same time.

So the quincunx aspect of Uranus to Mercury has you perhaps having an ability to master really complex technical issues.

But you are working as a Personal Assistant. So you have no business in the tech department. So you see no use in having or developing this talent.

Years later(say 30 years later), technological innovations have taken over the company you work in and you have moved from being a PA to being a Marketing Senior Manager.

The company has an internal opening for a network administrator to assist with the growing digital Marketing landscape. And they are intent on employing someone else full term to do the job side by side with yours.

They advertise the post and unbeknownst to them,you have kept abreast with developments in the technical field and know the technical jargon used in the advertisement and you reckon you can do the job and decide to wing it at the interview.

The company decides to interview you for the post and are very surprised that you know of the requirements for the job. And because of you interest in such subjects i.e habitual reading on technological software innovations,keeping abreast with current issues related to the industry etc. makes you the best interviewed candidate.

For you this was just an interest that you thought "useless". You have always been interested in technical solutions to problems and gadget innovations. But it was never something you ever thought you could link to your career.

So you get the job and the employer doubles your Salary (solar arc progression double whammy spoken about)and benefits to do something that you thought was at one point "pointless" to you. Or just a useless past time etc.

The result could also be in reverse. Say for instance you didn't develop the quincunx aspect and such a position opens in the company. You would miss out on an opportunity that is comprised of an abandoned past time.

This aspect could be a powerful motive for working with abandoned people, marginalised people or those people who are lonesome and feel misunderstood because of who they are etc.

My Sun inconjunct Chiron affords me a talent for dealing with issues connected to family and belonging.
