I have read that if you have many or all of your inner and outer planets above the horizon (houses 7-12) that means that you exude friendliness and have an outgoing and extroverted personality; however, I have never really believed this since I have most planets above the horizon and am shy and introverted. What else does havingg most planets above the horizon mean? It's possible my Capricorn Moon conjunct my 7th house cusp could mean I come across as shy to others, but yet my Venus and Mercury are in outgoing and expressive Aries in the 10th house, so that setup right there should guarantee an extremely loud and talkative person with absolutely no qualms about expressing their beliefs, but yet while I am not afraid to speak my mind and do tend to pursue men first rather than wait for them, I can and do come across as shy, unassuming and quiet (maybe my 9th house Pisces Mars is at play?)

Yes, I don't resonate with this interpretation either. I have sun conjunct Mercury in the 10th, aries as well. I am not loud, unless provoked. You have a cancer asc just like me and I think that would make you a bit introverted to an extent. The cap moon would also make you more so...not exactly introverted, but quieter.

I have sun, Merc, Venus, Mars and Saturn in the upper portion of my chart. Once I set my mind on something (work, project, men...lol) I don't hold back. But I would consider myself more so one who watches and waits quietly until the time is right.

Jupiter on my dsc makes me pretty optimistic and generous...but I'm really only that way with my circle if you know what I mean. I don't think I would be cut out as a motivational speaker or anything along those lines...I can still deliver a speech to a crowd, but I don't favor the idea of doing so. Not in my comfort zone.

But yes, I have seen that reference before and reviewed the theory against many charts. It just doesn't fit.

You definitely sound just like me. I feel like I am able to be open and more myself with people I know. The extroverted tendencies aren't noticed by strangers or people I have just met. I also can manage to speak in public if I have to, but I would prefer not to as well.

Yeah, I have been told, many times, by people...they say, "what are you up to with that expression?" I really have no idea what they are talking about. I guess they can see the gears working so to speak. Cancer rising, we wear our hearts on our sleeves. but keep other thoughts just below the surface. Keeps those we don't know so well at arm's length til we are ready. 😀

I think the strongest effects people feel are aspects.

A person with Sun conjunct Mars will give off more flame and motivation than someone with Mars in Leo.

Then house placement is 2nd followed by sign placement. People tend to act out their aspects and house positions more than their actual sign placements. Like you could easily tell somebody with a Sun in 7th rather than a Libra Sun in 4th
