If your ascendant/rising is Cancer, so your first house will most likely be in Cancer and ruled by the Moon. Cancer is ruled by the Moon and is the first water sign of the zodiac. The moon in zodiac symbolizes the mother and early upbringing (home life, childhood, family). The moon also governs emotions.

Off the bat the Cancer rising person is nurturing and very maternal/paternal and they wear their hearts on their sleeves (even if they try to hide it). You would just want to hug them, even if you are not the hugging type. They just look so hugable (very much like the sun sign).

A Cancer rising person is sensitive but it’s so endearing that it can be quite cute. At its worst the Cancer rising person can be moody, needy and clingy, but they don’t take it that far until they are close with you. They usually reserve this side of themselves to the few people that they are very close to. A reason why Cancer ascendants are so reserved and shy is because they are sensitive to the energies around them. So they need time to adjust, sometimes even hang out in their shell for a little bit.

They won't reveal personal information to you unless they know you. The most you will get out of them is that they sensitive and are crybabies. Crying during a movie (even an action film), crying when sad or happy, etc. Again for most of that you will have to be close to them for them to show that side to you.If anything you can call them big softies (as oppose to cry babies). Cancer rising are usually quiet and shy (especially when they first meet someone) and are quite protective of themselves (aka feelings) and their loved ones.

Even so, they are quite sweet. The Cancer Ascendant men are the ultimate gentlemen and give nice guy/FILF vibes. The Cancer Ascendant women are quite sensual and give girl next door/MILF vibes. They will dress comfortably and look adorable.

Generally genetics, environment, and lifestyles play a more important factor in appearance than astrology. However Cancer Rising women tend to be curvy to pudgy built with round faces, big boobs and big expressive eyes. While the Cancer Rising men tend to have round faces, big expressive eyes, and are slightly pudgy (especially in the middle).

Overall the Cancer rising person is sweet, nurturing and caring.

He has a round face, feminine mannerisms, sensitive... he cooks and cleans.

My dad is a cancer rising too. My mom is a Gem sun, rising and mercury like me. My dad was definitely the more nurturing, the more emotionally volatile, he cooked and cleaned.

Astrofiend, I just checked out your website! "whiny b**ch baby astrology gene" I died. I'm always making fun of Drake and his weird a** whiny voice.

My bf is Cancer rising, sun, and mercury. He is super touchy and sensitive. He will probably make a scene if he's drunk and a stranger does anything to make him feel little. He does have mercury conjunct ascendant though, so maybe that makes his words jab a little harder...also making him slender and more sociable.

He's really cuddly, cooks/cleans, like his head scratched and arms and back rubbed. He's basically a puppy with domestic skills
