I want to hear your opinions on this matter based on your experience.Aries philosophers, inventors and music composers for example: René Descartes, Thomas Jefferson, Averroes (Ibn Rushd), Thomas Hobbes, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Joseph Haydn. Leo: Napoléon Bonaparte, Henry Ford, Helena Blavatsky, Carl Jung, Alexander Fleming, Karl Popper, Claude Debussy, Alfred Hitchcock. Sagittarius: Ludwig van Beethoven, William Blake, Friedrich Engels, Winston Churchill, Walt Disney, Baruch Spinoza, Noam Chomsky.

Sagittarius ! It Rules the 9th house, philosophy and higher learning.But Aries is a more practical thinker and are fast thinkers. Leo is extremely intelligent bc of they are creative thinkers. So I guess each have their strengths intellectually. IP: Logged |

I've known quite a few Aries in my life. More than a few were quite intelligent. Many were quick (and some, quick witted). But I wouldn't call them great thinkers. They're doers. They are more likely to just know what is needed and do it.Leo is quite imaginative. They can see the possibilities. Antidotally, I think Star Trek (TOS) fans are more likely to have Leo (or Aries second) placements than other signs. But again, not "great thinkers". I don't know enough Sag to quite have the opinion, but given the three choices presented, I'll lean towards Sag. IP: Logged |

In my opinion, Sagittarius. Of all the three signs, it is most common for Sagittarius to travel to foreign countries. I believe it takes a fair amount of depth to take interest in cultures that largely have people with different perspectives than you do. To rule the 9th house, it is important to have an open mind as without one higher learning becomes much more difficult.IP: Logged |

When Sag is able to remove religious or political dogma from their thought processes, they can be pretty profound.Otherwise their "depth" is affected by bias and moral judgment. Too idealistic and lacking realism or practicality. For example Sag may believe the killing of a person is wrong. But be limited in considering situations where killing is necessary and is perhaps the only choice. For many, the eternal flames of damnation affect their reasoning and may sway them into "right is right" and "wrong is wrong" approach to thinking. And this can make them come across ridiculously out of touch with life. Aries are to me not "deep" thinkers, but they are able to get to the heart of the matter without going through the fluff. So they are not likely to rely heavily on religious convictions but what will yield the most effective result etc. And I think that this makes them more in touch with the pulse of life than Sag ime I find their direct approach to matters at times inappropriate. But they don't waste too much time pondering on the many variations and outcomes. Aries will for instance say stuff like "Any person who doesn't do anything and everything to protect their family, is weak". But Aries will not consider carefully if this " protection" includes vigilantism? And what if the protection of that one family puts many others in harms way? Or to what extent do we say the actions of that person go from being heroic to barbaric? I have yet to meet an intellectual Leo tbh. Not to say that they are "dumb" or anything. But most I know are usually fixated on what is going on around their inner circle to devote any attention on matters that require deep thinking. When issues that require engagement are raised i.e abortion, democracy, human rights etc, the Leo I know always says "wake me up when this is over"

You are right on about Sag, it depends on the Sag, some Sag are very free spirited and hate religion and see it as an institution that is about controlling human behavior and sexuality and they don't like that. But yes your observations about them are often true even for the ones that are not religious but it depends on the rest of the chart. Like for example you are more like my Sag uncle who like you has venus in scorpio, he resents religion, he always had a strong desire nature and rejected religion bc it tried to make him feel shame over it, early on in his early upbringing he rebelled agains't religion, it was instinctual for him. Is funny you say that about Leo, I have been heavy in politics for a long time and have been in both sides of the spectrum and I feel now that I have explored all sides and views I just want to be left out of it although I use to be extremely passionate about politics and engaged in activism for a while there. Now I am like your Leo friends with a keep me out of it mindset and wake me up when is over, I am just over it IP: Logged |

Leo is very zealous, your Leo friends may like you a lot but have different views from you so don't want to discuss politics with you to avoid hurting the connection and so just say "wake me up when is over."Politics these days is emotionally charged. IP: Logged |

I would say it surely depends on other influences but in general terms I know deep thinkers in each sign. Aries Sun with Water ascendant, I've met 3 people and they were always looking for answers digging into their psyche, super super smart people.I've met Sag sun with air ascendants and even though they are looking for answers and higher knowledge, they are more practical, they are not in good terms with religious or anything like that and they don't really care about it. My closest girl friends have Leo Sun with Earth Ascendant and they are pretty smart but not really digging that much into anything else. This is just a few examples I have on people I actually know. I guess you right about my Leo friend. It could be that he just wants to avoid tension.But I wish that we could go beyond talking about the norm. I love my Aqua friend for that as nothing is off limits. Nothing! So I can get used to that and expect it from most people. But Leo steers clear of anything that is too personal or "controversial". You would get along great with my partner hahah sun in libra with uranus/mars on the DC, oh he will tell you how he feels and he wont' care if you agree or not and loves debating and having discussions and will not resort to personal attacks. Like I have venus and mars in leo with my chart ruler been jupiter conjunct uranus (uranus is my 3H ruler), most of my life I am that person not afraid to be and think differently, always speaking up and not caring what others thought of me but I got tired of been so different and unique in my thinking and always having to show the world this side of me. I wonder if bc jupiter/uranus fall in my 12th is why, now this last year or so I came to the conclusion that I can keep my uniqueness to myself and show it to selective people and not have to constantly have to show my Uranus to everyone hahahahaLike I have finally realized that yes I have always known who I am and accepted myself as I am and love that I am different but I don't have to show it to the whole world, it can be a part of me that I show to some that I want to. It doesn't mean I am not been authentic bc I know who I am but I don't have to share this part of me with the whole world all the time, is ok to keep things to myself. Is like bc it falls in the 12th, constantly showing others the real me can be draining. Accepting that I don't have to show off my freak flag all the time and that some people are not really worthy to see this side of me and been ok with that has been liberating. IP: Logged |

if i were to discuss thinkers, would search for mercury position, aspect, house, und sign. said that, the list presented there can be found in any sun sign you search for phylosophers. on another note, i do not see FIRE as deep... never heard of deep thinking associated to fire. fire add speed, but not depth. for depth you need either water, saturn (for focus) or pluto (for intensity) i am surprised the question about depth was associated to fire signs...
