Not really sure if this is the right place to ask.

I have a ton of personal planets in feminine signs. Even Mars in Libra, I consider more feminine than masculine (although I also see why Libra would be masculine). However, I see my energy as more masculine. I am quite direct and think very linear. I don't like complicated things. I am impatient, etc.

I have tapped into this feminine energy before. But I usually feel weaker in a way, and also more delusional and emotional. This is the only reason why I am not very comfortable with my feminine energy.

I was just wondering if there's a way to balance my two energies without abandoning the other?

Someone has said to me before that Leo sun is difficult for women because it's pure masculine energy (which is very true). But I am pretty sure there are other Leo sun women who are very deeply in touch with their femininity.

Feminine energy in a woman comes from her venus, moon and mercury according to esoteric/ancient astrology. Let me know the placements of these planets in your chart (sign & house) and this could reveal to me why you feel this way about feminity.

I think that you already do tap into your femininity, except your ideas about what are masculine and what are feminine are probably clouded.

Emotions can be used as conduits to clarity and insight - which then lead to truth and empathy.

Empathy is how we experience and feel what another feels, without projecting our self onto the other. It's the difference between pity (projection, seeing ourself) and truly seeing and feeling a person or situation as it really is. Without empathy, or even, with low empathy, we cannot be objective or see anything clearly.

Again, it depends on what you are feeling, when you are feeling emotional.
Generally, those emotions are gateways to higher feeling and intuition. It involves strength and courage to be able to wade through those waters. There is strength in vulnerability. So first off, you probably need to unlearn whatever it is you have been conditioned to think of men and women. The best thing I can think of, is to network with people, tell them all your thoughts, opinions, what you believe about men and women. It really depends on what you consider strength.

What do you consider strong?

You see that there is an imbalance, which is good. Self awareness is key.

In Jungian psychology, men project their anima, and women project their animus.
In men, the anima can also be seen as their inner woman. Every man is expressing his inner woman, and it is considered manly. This has nothing to do with him doing his makeup or painting his nails, or painting or sewing or nurturing children. The irony is that he is spending his life expressing his femininity, or learning how to. What we deem feminine, and what we deem masculine, is not so cut and dry.
Women are expressing their inner animus, their inner man, always.

In astrology, there is a similar concept to Jungian psychology.

It is that in astrology, men express and emulate their Venus, which is what they are attracted to, what they like in a woman. They try to embody that, in a similar fashion to the Jungian anima theory.

Likewise, with women, they emulate their Mars sign.

But with all that said, I think you are thinking of it too hard. This is something that is primordial in us all. We're meant to feel it, and it comes naturally, like breathing. But if you are afraid of feeling, and do not sit well with emotion, perhaps that is part of what you need to learn to be okay with.

My Moon is in Cancer (1st house ruled by Gemini) and I have a Mercury-Venus conjunction in Virgo (3rd house ruled by Leo). My Moon is even sextile both planets. This is why I find it odd I have difficulty connecting with my feminine energy.

Could you tell me the exact degree of venus and mercury? Since in virgo there are 3 mansion of the moons.

If your venus is at the far end or beginning of virgo yes it will cause trouble to your venus since it is debilitated there. The 3rd house is a very mental house which adds too much mental energy to venus. This causes you to find it difficult to appreciate beauty in yourself or other things, it makes you critical and could even make a woman ashamed of her femininity or they might perceive themselves being a woman as a task and an inferior thing (since virgo is the sign of service and employee). Venus needs to feel appreciated unconditionally and be in a harmonious environment, which is why it is debilitated in virgo. Venus in third with mercury though, makes you really mental and logical when it comes to your choices and decisions in choosing clothes or furniture, you tend to focus on what is the current trend but neglect your personal choice since you actually have difficulty appreciating or admiring something and understanding the aesthetic of it.

Is it true in your preteens and teens you felt like you were under appreciated or had bad women role models? It is what most girls with afflicted venus feel. Did your mother did not let you be creative when you were little and made you feel like being a girl/woman means to be an ‘employee’ or someone under appreciated? Since venus also represents what values the mother passed on the her children. The mother is the person in a person life that represents femininity aka venus. So her behaviour and habits is represented by your venus.

Venus is a planet that likes being in her comfort and be creative. In the third house in virgo venus feels forced to do things according to certain rules. Venus is a right brained planet and in virgo and in third you feel forced to think about Venusian subjects in a left brained way.

Let me know if this resonates.

Good, subtle, perceptive questions. Yes, there is a way to balance masculine and feminine energies. And that is one of the core challenges of soul development! To find the full balanced expression of both unified seamlessly.

We get there intuitively with time. Some guiding thoughts that might be relevant ...

- Honor intuition as much as logic and reason. You don't need rational reasons for what you do if you are guided internally to do it. Even astrology requires a balance of intuition and reason to practice it well.

- Feel out when to follow your gut and when it is more appropriate to follow your head. You have both for a reason. The heart can synthesize the two, acting as a conduit between 'gut' and 'head.'

- Parent the inner child with Love. It is Love the inner child needs, and we can learn to be better parents to that core part of ourselves than our parents might have been.

- Feel out when it is time to recede and be receptive to the group mood and when it is time to put yourself forward or perform.

^^Perhaps the midpoints of venus/mars and sun/moon would be a good way to access that.

My Venus is at 9 degrees, exact sextile to my Moon.

I've always struggled with my femininity. As a child, I have been shamed for being soft. I now remember how feminine I was a a kid. I have draconic Venus in Pisces.

I was quite sensitive as a little girl but I was surrounded by people who did not even try to understand or empathize when I was feeling down. I even had friends who told me I was weak for crying easily, especially when I get mad.

My mom has a lot of masculine energy, especially with her Mars in Aries. Even though she was soft on the inside, she portrayed more of her masculine side. She's very ambitious and is not afraid to speak up for herself. She was submissive when it came to relationships, however. She has Venus in Cancer. Growing up, I saw her take a lot of crap from my dad, which I never understood because she always portrayed herself as a strong woman. Even my own grandmother, my dad's mom, took a lot of crap from my grandpa too.

Now that I think about it, it may be more of a defense mechanism for me. I've experienced it myself, where I would be super feminine and then the guys I attract turn out to be complete a**holes. They dismiss me and treat me like crap because I become too soft and take whatever they swing at me. I don't like people treating me that way, especially men.

Also, yes, my mom taught me that being submissive is degrading and that I have to be useful to prove my worth. She always made me focus more on my academics even though I've always loved being an artist.

I know someone with a heavy mix of Scorpio and Pisces (and he does have a strong "feminine vibe" to me, not to be confused with "gay" or "beta male") and he's straightforward and linear thinking enough (though also deep and creative as well).

My understanding is that astrological feminine energy is more about attracting things to you, nudging them your way rather than grabbing them (not to be confused with the infamous passive-aggressive way or dropping hints and expecting you to figure it out associated with females), while masculine energy is more about taking a more direct hand in it (not to be confused with the obnoxious "macho" ways of being bullying and overbearing). And it should be noted that men are perfectly capable of being schemers and subtle planners (like a good Scorpio) while women can be prima donnas and spoiled princesses (say filled with masculine Leonine energy) and yet no one says they act like the other gender.

x

That aside, I had trouble with some feminine expressions (in the social construct way) because I associated it with powerlessness and victimhood, an insidious message that even well meaning but misguided feminists promote right along with those who want females weak. This pushed me into being a tomboy when I was younger, though I wasn't consciously aware of it yet. It was only after a masculine girlfriend wanted me to become more feminine that I realized I had some strange, vague fear, and confronted it, realizing that it did not mean victimhood or passivity, and that I could still be feminine in the social construct model while still being assertive and confident.

It sounds like that you have a similar (but not identical) psychological obstacle as I did. It can be overcome.

You learn to balance the two energies by changing your perspective of the feminine. The only way to balance them is to see them as equal energies that are of equal importance. Without doing this, you will naturally see one energy as "weaker" and the "weaker" one is what will make you uncomfortable. "Weaker" means "lesser" and no one likes to feel lesser. In order to change your perspective, you have to unlearn what society says about the feminine.

I once struggled with the same thing as you. To some extent, for example, my emotions still make me uncomfortable and that's why earlier this year I felt dead inside. You see, to be happy and fulfilled, you have to be willing to experience emotions and emotions are traditionally associated with women thus they are stereotyped as more "emotional." Part of being sentient and human is possessing both emotions and reason. Without emotions, you do not feel human and you don't feel alive and happy.

Like I have learned when it comes to my emotions, you cannot become comfortable with the feminine and balance it with the masucline without exposing yourself to it. It helps to re-evaluate how you view femininity, but in order to truly get in balance, you have to also experience your femininity and not be turned away from tapping into it just because of how uncomfortable it makes you. You have to study the feminine, feel the feminine, research the feminine, and you have to experience your feminine traits and find a way to view them with more positivity.

Feminine energy can be very powerful. Its is feminine energy that makes peace, cooperation and order possible.

I have noticed that Mars/Venus in aspect in a woman's chart can downplay the more "feminine" nature of Venus.

This is also the case of when Venus is in Fire signs or air signs. With the former ,it is more " in your face" whilst with air signs it rationalises feelings and looks to reason things.

When a woman is too "masculine" they are drawn to a more "feminine" person(man or woman)i.e. romantic, emotional, expressive etc.

If a man is too "macho", he is drawn to more " feminine" people i.e. emotionally expressive types.

Only a patriarchal system would have one believe that feminine energy is "weak" or makes ones delusional. Its all about balance. Because masculine energy is just as dangerous when out of control.

Here's a bit of my experience, which is a tad opposite yours. Perhaps it'll give some insight.

I consider myself pretty balanced, masc and fem wise. Though, I tend to lean a bit more on the feminine side, I think.

In my household, growing up, there were some pretty rigid ideas about what makes a man a man, and what makes a woman a woman. Very particular gender roles, and if you weren't a natural at those "roles", you were somehow less. My mother always, underhandedly, considered men incompetent and incapable of understanding anything, or incapable of being responsible adults. In her mind, women were the ones who had to know everything, do everything, be good at everything, and the men in my family did not have high expectations. As you can see, the roles were not healthy, or normal, or natural, for either men or women.

Me? Because I was not good at doing some very "basic" womanly duties, like laundry, folding, sewing, and what not, I was often chastised for not being womanly enough or girly enough. So, some years later, this translated to "oh, so I must be more like a dude...". I grew out of that, and understand that we are not defined by our aptitudes or utility in terms of strict gender roles, which can vary from family to family. I mean, c'mon, just because I'm not good at this or that, doesn't mean I'm somehow a defective female :P There's more to being a woman than ironing, and there's more to men than strict "logic" and fixing cars. If you went up to a man who was sensitive, and didn't know much about cars, I don't think you'd tell him he's not a man because of that. That does not make sense.

In your case it could be reversed, but similar.

What exactly is feminine energy? I feel that the idea of feminity and masculinity is quite skewed. Femininity has been associated with wearing makeup, feminine movements, being delicate or submissive. Masculinity the opposite. When it comes to personality being “emotional” or “sensitive”, caring, etc are feminine, being assertive, aggressive, unemotional are deemed masculine. But why? I know plenty of men who are emotional and caring, and I know plenty of women who are assertive and not so emotional. In my view, I don’t see specific personality traits as feminine or masculine. Im not sure what’s the point of that, labeling feminine and masculine. To me the difference in feminine and masculine is merely physical traits that is exclusive in men or women. Like men being taller, having facial hair, mannerisms, etc otherwise I don’t see a man being sensitive as “feminine” I just see it as a man who is sensitive.
I dont see a woman who is assertive as “masculine” I just see it as a woman who is assertive.
My sister is also a Cancer moon, she has a feminine moon but she doesn’t see herself as “girly”
From what I feel on here you don’t seem stereotypically masculine. You seem more stereotypically feminine to me lol I know it’s hard to say see I haven’t met you personally but that’s just what I gather. In what ways do you feel masculine?

I had a similar issue as you growing up except the orher way around kind of. As a child I recall myself being sensitive, however I found it hard to express myself. When I’d cry I’d do my best to not show it to anyone. But my parents would always label me as “hard” or cold for these reasons. I found it hard to express myself, it wasn’t because I didn’t feel, just very shy and not very expressive. At first I didn’t care, I actually embraced it because I thought it was cool that I seemed different from other girls because I didn’t cry easily (in front of others anyway) I blame my dang Aquarius moon which I hate at times, because I liked being unique. But I can’t remember when it was that it finally started getting to me. People acting like I had no emotions.
My sister was a Cancer moon and she was wayyy more emotionally expressive then me. She’d cry at the drop of a hat in front of everyone where I would wait til nighttime to sleep and cry.
I felt people cared less about my feelings because I didn’t show them. I got tired of it, and hurt. So I slowly tried to express myself. Finally when I hit depression my emotional barriers kind of disappeared because when you’re super miserable it’s like you don’t even care what people think anymore. So since then I’ve gotten a bit more used to showing my tears. I used to regret when I would cry in front of others cause I showed my vulnerabilities and how they hurt me. I didn’t like to give people that satisfaction lol. So now I feel conciously more aware of portraying my emotions. However, I sometimes scared it seems ingenuine because it isn’t like me to cry in front of others. But I guess I gotta keep growing. Not be afraid to show when Im hurt. You’d be surprised how much happier life can be when we stop worrying about what others are thinking. It’s hard Im still learning. I think you can too. You just have to let down your barriers or if you don’t want to you don’t have to. You will be able to when you’re ready.

Of course, how we appear online is very different from who we really are in real life. I think you are sensing my Pisces MC, which most people do online.

I honestly felt masculine because I have been very uncomfortable expressing my emotions and being soft. I'm a 1st house moon, so I tend to deal with my problems by myself. Even though I cry when I see animals get hurt, I tend to hold my feelings in until I'm alone in private. It's like lions in the wild who hide when they're injured. I don't like showing gooey affection even to my partner. I show it in very weird ways like poking and teasing and making fun of whoever I like (like boys did in elementary). I also can be quite aggressive and impatient, despite having Mars in Libra. I'm always on the go, feeling that I always have to keep myself productive by doing things everyday to help me achieve success. I am very direct when I speak, which sometimes offends more feminine souls, men or women. I can also be quite confrontational, preferring to deal with the problem head on than trying to go around it. I've been told I'm too loud and outspoken a few times. I also feel quite worrisome. I tend to worry even about the smallest things. I have also been feeling like putting makeup on or dressing nice is too much work. It's like I just wanna get up and go. Some girls may be like this, but I don't really look good when I don't put the effort into getting ready in the morning. Not gonna lie, for the longest time, I also have looked down on women who were too feminine. I perceived them to be weaker. Now, obviously, I know this is not the case. It all made me feel uncomfortable, the whole sisterhood thing. I felt like every other girl was too complicated except me. This all happened at the expense of my creativity. I've been having trouble drawing, dancing, singing, etc. I know there's a block there somewhere, and I have been working on it since I started this thread.

I can even feel it in my own body. I am always tense around the shoulder, nape, and neck area. No matter how much I try to relax, my body just stiffens again a few minutes later.

I didn't use to be like this. I find it hard to just relax even on my days off. It's sucking me dry. I feel like I need to relax more and enjoy the moment, and that's probably why I wanna step into this feminine energy.

I've been reading this book lately about how to access this energy again and it's been working great. Little by little, I feel that I am slowly starting to regain my femininity back. I started with recognizing these false programming that have been embedded into my head and rejected them. I am slowly starting to shift my beliefs. Maybe this is why I dreamt of dying and wanting to "let go" on the day of my birthday this year.

It can be overcome.

society has a strong role to play about people not owning either their masculine or their femenine side. feminists are also to blame. and nowadays, men are being more victimized than women.. roles are becoming reversed. the fact is not hating either femenine or masculine, but rescuing the value of both sides. we need both.

That is more a superficial characterization than a real understanding of the two. The inquiry was about using feminine energy.

They are showing they are reasonably balanced, which is the whole point.

Masculine and feminine are principles, not mere gender/sex traits of biology. Both exist within us. It is possible, as implied clearly in the original post, for females to be strongly masculine in their energies, and vice versa, or for a person of a binary gender to be pretty well balanced.

The point of this is not 'what is a male or a female' but how to find balance. It is intuitive and spiritual -- not tangled up in social reorientation or gender fluidity. Persons of a non-binary sex or gender or who are in some way gender fluid are also exploring what it means to be a person of balance. These are not just identity questions.
