My mom has her Leo sun in the 2nd house of money, material possessions and your ego and has her Taurus moon in the 11th house of hopes and wishes (it's not just the house of friends). In my very humble opinion I personally believe that this specific sun-moon setup is why she hopes and wishes for material items and actually buys them so often. I'm a Taurus sun so material items are something I care about (my Capricorn moon also forces me to look at practicality and finances before buying an item), but not as much as my mom. She buys things she doesn't need! Has anyone else noticed this with this sun and moon combo?

I know only one with this combo (first decan Leo Sun in the 7th House, though I'm not looking up his chart so this is from memory) and while I would not call him frugal by any means, I wouldn't call him a shopaholic, either. He's a teen and a minor. One could assume his pride won't let him ask for too much when he knows he won't have all he desires handed to him on a silver platter (and being told "no" just won't sit well with his Leonine pride), but I personally think that's assuming too much. He'd like more than he has, however, and he normally jumps at the chance to get more spending money.

It COULD be that as he's popular over sports that he doesn't need to look good with frivolous shopping. Women tend to look better with such frivolous shopping so MAYBE (pure speculation here, not making assumptions) your mom buys these things because it gives her things to talk about and a feeling of accomplishment, having her sun in the 2H adding to that leaning.

I think you could be right. My mom was born July 31st so she's also got her sun in the 1st decan of Leo which is arguably the most Leo decan out of all 3 Leo decans. She's the typical super outgoing, friendly and generous Leo sun person. Since my mom has that regal Leo sun and materialistic Taurus moon I think she sees me sewing my own clothes as something that only poor people do. She doesn't realize the sense of accomplishment I feel from sewing my own unique t-shirt that nobody else will have. She feels that she needs to buy the best brand clothes and would never wear something I made with a sewing machine even though I use quality fabric and always do a good job sewing my clothes.

Also, I like your analysis of what her Leo sun in the 2nd house could mean. Maybe since the 2nd house is money, material possessions and ego she indeed DOES need expensive brand name items and frequent shopping trips to feed her big Leo ego. I'm not trying to bash my mom or Leos, but they def have big egos and def do need to get that ego stroked or have something that makes their ego feel wanted/needed.

My sister is a Leo sun (12th house) and a Taurus Moon (10th house) and she really doesn’t buy stuff unless she needs it. I have never seen her rock expensive name brand items either. But, “if you’ve got it, you got it”.

My mom is a Leo! Her shopping addiction goes under the radar for most, because she doesn’t shop out of her league.
My mom has what some would call a “poor person mentality” where you associate having nice things as having bad things.
Let me tell you it’s as equally repulsive as someone who puts on heirs about spending on and then flaunting Status brands.

My mom has been the bread winner since 2000.
She loves Walmart! She will do Salvation Army when she’s on a girl trip.
Once a year she will shop at Chistopher Banks. I don’t know much about that store other than it’s at a mall.

She does not like malls. She is embracing I went to the mall with her,and she looked down on everyone there. And called eveone at the mall a rich person. 🙄 I finally chimed in and told her that she probably makes more than half the people in this mall and that you don’t have to be a rich person to go to the mall.
It’s like in her head she saw the mall looked nice, the stores looked nice, the people looked polished and “badbadbad” was going off in her head.

Anyways, I’m more of a happy medium person. I hate Walmart, but I also hate flaunting status brands. Doesn’t mean I hate the brand, I just hate flaunting logos like “hey everyone I shop here” I have a clothing budget that I stick to though. I have no shame in taking people’s hand me downs too.

I use to shop once a month. But now I feel busy af, and have so many responsibilities. So now I feel like I go shopping every other month, or will go 4 months with out. I don’t need to go shopping once a month. I’ve stayed in the same clothing size since 2013. I have no shame in wearing old clothes if the condition is good. My closet says don’t go shopping. My bfs mom gives me clothes, sometimes my sister, and other random people. I don’t ask for this, but I don’t mind. Free clothes! Sometimes it is like why will no one let me shop? Why does everyone feel so compelled to give me their clothes?

My mom too, her weight has stayed pretty much the same forever. She is petite. What bothers me is she won’t get rid of any old clothes, but she goes shopping more than me. You wouldn’t think this because once she buys something new she wears it all the time. She still owns clothes from before I was born. So she won’t stop shopping, she won’t get rid of 50 decades of clothing and she won’t wear any of them either. Her closet is too small for this. She has clothes piled out side of closet, and her clothes in boxes and bags.
Yes I swear she will get exited about a new piece of clothing, wear that item of clothing every other day. I won’t wear something I wore a week ago. It’s like god woman, rotate a little!

She had no Taurus in her chart. Her moon is Capricorn.

Taurus Moons are popular hoarders. This is a "just in case" sign. And tends to attach security with having stuff i.e. the more stuff I have, the more secure I am.

This is in direct opposition to Scorpio Moon -whom always wants to burn things or throw things away. With them, security is cleaning out things that they don't need or those that have gone past their sell by date.

With your Mom's Sun in 2nd, her ego(Leo) is attached to having stuff(2nd). As she may see them as an extension of her ego (as wherever we have Leo is where we have our ego invested and perceived extensions of ourselves).

So we have Taurus themes doubled here. Which would emphasize her being the type to want to accumulate stuff(whether or not it is useful).

My Mom has Sun in Sag and Moon in Taurus. And she likes to stock up food a lot. So often my sister (Taurus Sun) and I will end up throwing food away that is past its expiration date.

Taurus/2nd house emphasis is hoarding energy ime. My sister herself has a lot of clothes.A lot. Seriously plenty

Interesting about Scorpio Moon wanting to burn things.

Lately as a Scorpio Moon my self. I have been beginning to purge certain things.
I began to purge gifts from coworkers I dislike. I was in a gift giving environment, people that don’t like each other feel this obligation as well. I gave gifts to coworkers I could not stand and vise versa.

Many know, I felt stuck at my job for too long. I could not get away from those people, and the little time I did get to spend at home...seeing the crap they gave me. That’s not good chi. I remember one girl made me so mad that I just went home and threw the half used bubble bath stuff she got me, in the trash!

I still have some things lingering, I plan on getting rid of the things more respectfully now, like donating body sprays to women’s shelter. Old work clothes are going to the donation bin.

Once a bridge is burned everything from that person and place must go.

Don’t get me started on ex boyfriends! 🤣

I want to get new shoes.
New title, new job I want new shoes.

I need some weather resistant, supportive buiseness casual shoes.

But I better pay for my classes and books first.

I realize I should get rid of some shoes that are dirty looking.
