Like if a person smokes a lot of cigarettes? I know the eighth house is about addictions, alcohol and drugs. Would smoking also be an eighth house issue?

Sure, it could be.

In the country I am in now, nearly everyone is smoking. Antismoking isn't so extreme here, anyhow. Funnily enough, cancer here isn't as high as in other countries. Probably other factors to take into account for that, though. But anyhow, smoking can be a casual addiction, like drinking alcohol daily, which people here also do. It's a mild, socially acceptable addiction, just like smoking a cigarette is. But I think when it's a full on hardcore addiction, chainsmoking, pack after pack, it could be 8th house related. But also, people who suffer from anxiety smoke, drink, and do drugs as well, to help them get by.

And then we have other socially acceptable drugs, like antidepressants and valium. Some people use their vices as a way to cope with something or other. So I think it could also play a part with a need to cope with some nervous system issues, high anxiety. But I wouldn't say it is necessarily Pisces or Neptunian, as other drugs + alcohol are (which can be boundary - inhibition dissolving drugs), so we'd be erring more on the 8th house, if it is an extreme addiction.

I would say addictions are from hidden pain. Could be 8th or 12.

The 1st house(asc) is your physical bode. If u have no respect for it, you're in trouble. Do therefore the ruler of 1st is very important.

Habits relating to the physical body are the domain of the 6th house, whether healthy or not.

To clarify, the body and person generally is the 1st house.

The 6th house is what we put in that body (especially a a matter of habit) or do with it that affects health.

The 8th is intimate bodily contact with another person or entity physically or emotionally -- or the knife in surgery.

So what does it mean if someone's moon is in another person's 8th house?

Why would addictions be a 8th house matter? Never heard of that. Can you explain how that would work?

Listen to Kannon, he speaks wisely^^.

Also addictions are often pisces and neptune ruled. Neptune aspects to personal planets etc.
6th house health. 12th house mental health etc
