What would indicate a fear of water or other phobias? Any first-hand examples in your experience? I have Neptune in the 8th with Pisces Midheaven and Mars in Pisces in 10th and I am not really scared of water unless it's the ocean. I have of fear of diving deep in the ocean, I would never do it and just looking at videos of deep sea diving intrigues me but also makes my head spin and stomach pop up and down like I'm on a rollercoaster. I'm also claustrophobic and arachnophobic but I don't know what would indicate that. For the arachnophobia, it is probably my Venus conjunct Pluto in the 6th (small creatures). Not sure where the claustrophobia is coming from though. I hate being in an elevator by myself and I sometimes have nightmares of being trapped in an unescapable box. Rather than all small spaces, I'm scared of small spaces that seemingly have no way to exit or scream for help...like a trapped elevator.... IP: Logged |

I have acrophobia. My fear of heights developed into a phobia a few years ago for some reason. It could be something that got worse with age, but I think acrophobia is extra crippling for me. I'm unable to use stairs like a normal adult. Since I wasn't always this terrified of heights, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my astrology chart. I do have a massive emphasis on the Earth element though, which may point to preferring to be on stable ground. It's a bit of a stretch to make this claim, however. When I'm trying to use the stairs, I become light-headed and it's like my legs won't move. It feels like sudden paralysis and the dizziness keeps me from being able to overcome it. For some reason, escalators are fine. This could have something to do with how they work. Elevators are usually okay, but if they're see-through, dear god, send help. IP: Logged |

Saturn indicates fear, what we're consciously, or unconsciously afraid of. And Capricorn often is very fearful, of a great many things, and develop an array of narratives as protective walls, either to fight against their fear, or protect themselves from it. This can cause them to develop many phobias. Capricorn stelliums - can be certain the person is quite fearful. As for the specific fear of water, something in Pisces, 12th house, or an aspect to Neptune may indicate, especially in relation to Saturn or Capricorn. Saturn as the dominant planet will also make for a fearful person - can also make them become a shut in in some stage of their life. IP: Logged |

I also have a fear of heights. I could never go bungee jumping or jump from a cliff or from a helicopter. My stomach does the drop thingy if I even think of it. If I do get that high for whatever reason I become paralyzed also. I am fine on stairs and escalators though. Sorry that you go through that, it must suck since stairs are so frequent in our day to day life. What are you exact placements that you think might indicate your fears?

I don't know if my Capricorn placements indicate my particular fears. My Saturn in Taurus in the 11th also does not seem to relate much to my particular fears either (heights, spiders, tight inescapable spaces where I'm by myself). I think it has to do with my Pluto and Neptune influence but I can't be too sure yet. Reading on it, I did forget that Neptune also indicates tight spaces/hidden spaces and locked rooms. My Neptune in the 8th seems to be the cause of the fear of deep waters and tight spaces then. Perhaps. Can't be sure. And then I think that my Venus-Pluto in 6th could be my fear of spiders? Since the 6th house is small creatures and Pluto incites fears and taboos, I guess Venus would be making the fears part of my emotional state because BOY do I hyperventilate and cry when I see even the smallest spider...I'm a mess! I don't know many other Capricorns who share my fears. I have Cancer friends who share my fear of small bugs, like Spiders, though.

A couple guesses: Chiron in 9th house. South Node in Cancer in 8th house.I think my phobia of heights could be a past life thing, which is why I mentioned my South Node. My phobia could explain Chiron's house placement. One of this site's interpretations for Saturn in 9th house is the fear of heights: https://www.leahwhitehorse.com/2010/10/27/samhain-and-saturn-the-beast-and-the-handsome-prince/ IP: Logged |

I really would wanna know.. My father has huge a mean huuge phobia for frogs and toads. He can't even look at toy frogs. His pulse will spike, he will start to sweat and he clams his eyes shut close and turns his head away unable to even move! He will get all stiff and almost near fainting! Its so so irrational. He claims he one day when a teenager was sitting under a tree, and saw a frog or toad just minding its own bussiness passing by. Thats it. He did not have any close encounter or contact at all! What he can remember anyway. He also has phobia for swimming in water if the water passes his knees. Buts thats more rational, he was almost drowning ones, in his teens. But some people will never get phobia for something even when its near killing them, where others like my dad will never put themselves in that position again. I have no idea about his birthday. We only know his birth month and he is Cancer sun, undeniable so IP: Logged |

Medical proceduresWhen I was 4yo, they had "botched" the general anesthesia needed during procedure to surgically remove tonsils and adenoids. I had an out-of-body experience where I was floating outside my body, in back of the doctor's left shoulder. I saw the metal 'contraption' they had placed inside my mouth to hold it open. Then, at some point, I was "feeling" what they were doing to me!!!! It was as though I had been painfully punched in the nose!!! Winds up that I went into biological state of "shock" … and I hemorrhaged. A friend of mine who had been a surgical nurse reviewed the copy of the records I have of that event. She said from the notes made, they were afraid I was going to die. I've had a TERROR of anesthesia, ever since. There have been some tests that doctors wanted to run on me that 'there is just no way' I could barely even 'think' about subjecting myself to.. I TRIED to. .. but .. ??
I've watched videos with doctors who discuss patients with the fear of anesthesia, or, 'anesthesia anxiety'. They SAY that these people have "trust issues"?? (humor) After my experience??? Wellllll!! My mother has phobia for snakes. She too did not have any close contact with any snakes. But she remembers as a kid some men in her village back then in a crop field, killing a snake, (unempathic and uneducated idiots! Snakes does amazing job catching mouse and rats in crop fields!) She vitnessed it, and got phobia for some reason. Her birthday and time is known. I dunno what can indicate snake phobia? (asteroid Medusa? LOL) She has a 12th house stellium. Pluto chiron opposition. N.node in Cancer... south node in Capricorn... would those explain it? Saturn trine moon, but thats a strech? I have saturn oppo moon. For ex Chiron and saturn does lots of contacts in my chart but I have no phobias at all, just ocd tendencies. And know of saturn-moon people, with no phobias so dunno. IP: Logged |

I have a friend whoms father was so afraid of anestesia, he went through an hernia operation, fully awake! He just got local anestesia, and was awake and chatting with the doc during the procedure lol. I also read in an article about a woman with phobia like yours. She let a hypnotist hyptonize her for surgery. She was fully asleep durng the operation, with omly hypnosis!

I've read before, (and I can't quote where I've read it, because it was so long ago) that some people who've been put under total anesthesia have woken up "different". It was reported that they seemed like a completely different person in a lot of ways. They knew their name and remembered their life, but their personality changed, likes and dislikes, mannerisms etc. They just weren't the same anymore. Now, this isn't common, at least I don't think so, but it is an interesting little tid bit. I've read similar about chloroform, though it's rare. What I do know about anesthesia is that it is not at all like real sleeping. So, perhaps when our system is forced to "shut down" un an abrasive way, like anesthesia, perhaps there could be some lesser known side effects, even energetic implications. The creepy side of the internet has mentioned "spirit attachment" or "demon possession" being easier when we're under. Though that remains to be seen... It's probably not that, and just something that can happen to our brain. With all that in mind, I do wonder if the fear of anesthesia is actually a good thing, because some part of us knows something we don't. Like instinctive self preservation. IP: Logged |

Lalafortunaea. I can understand that. While you're "out" of the body, it could be imaginable (in a Twilight-Zone episode way) for someone else's ghost, present in spirit-form in nonlocal space, to decide that they will hijack body of the unsuspecting patient? Laughing .. "With all that in mind, I do wonder if the fear of anesthesia is actually a good thing, because some part of us knows something we don't. Like instinctive self preservation." LOL These could be Halloween topics!!! Melinn.. Hypnosis?! .. Now that was a talented (and INCREDIBLY trusting) patient. I mean, you have to trust the surgeon yes, but TRUST your hypnotist??? He/She must have had special genius talent at performing that skill.

I would think medical procedures phobia would have something to do with Mars and Mercury maybe? What do they do in your chart? Also where are their signs?

Interesting to note your Chiron. I have Chiron in the 6th in Sagittarius so maybe that also explains my fear of spiders and heights? But I don't know how. So, do we agree that heights is the domain of the 9th house or something else? Still confused! IP: Logged |

Hm. Arachne is opposite my Saturn (wide orb) and square my Uranus (closer). Maybe that's it. It doesn't really do much else to my chart, just some sextiles.

I don't know. Sagittarius tends to be associated with risky, adventurous behavior and it's the sign that rules the 9th house. However, I don't actually know for sure which placements would normally be associated with acrophobia. I'm unfortunately not able to find anything on this topic that's reliable.IP: Logged |

This is a wild thought, maybe the 12th house of fire? Secret enemies, fears etc. Maybe with any of the following maybe: Mars (fight or flight), Saturn, Moon (moon is water, the body runs on water, thoughts, emotions), mercury, Neptune (water related, fear based fantasy if so?) there. Idk it just made me think perhaps. Does anyone reading have this going on I wonder?IP: Logged |

hmm my brothers wife has ocd and fear for insects, but its mostly conected to ocd. Once when she saw silverfish in her bathroom, she couldnt sleep all night and went nuts cleaning the bathroom in the middle of the night! She has 12 house stellium in scorpio (venus-jup-mercury-node. She also dislikes being in the nature, because of her dislike for insects. She wont swim in lakes or the ocean, she prefers chlorine pool water over natural water, because she says she is disgusted by thinking about "fish and duck poop" in the lakes ahaha! Ok maybe not phobia, but ocd and phobia maybe are close related in a chart? Meanwhile I'm the opposite, I cant stand pool water (and human pee yikes) I only swim in natural lakas My mother has 12th house stellium in gemini/cancer. She has real phobia for snakes. She can't even look at cartoon snakes! Maybe 12th house is for phobia ralted things? Mine is empty and in Leo, I have no phobias at all! But I have mild Ocd when I'm very stressed out.
