"Sunspot Observatory was closed and evacuated Sept. 6 due to an undisclosed security risk. Officials aren't saying why it was closed and that's led to media coverage and plenty of speculation.

“Last Thursday, we got a phone call in the morning from AURA who told us to say that they were temporarily evacuating the site and asked us to evacuate our people,” Sunspot Solar Observatory Director R.T. James McAteer said. “So, I called our people up and asked them to leave in a very sensible and calm manner and locked everything up. We’ve been out of there since Thursday morning.”

The Sunspot Solar Observatory is run by a consortium of universities that provide funding to operate the telescope and adjoining visitor’s center, McAteer said."

Whatever happened must have freaked them out

It's common for the human mind to get frightened by the unknown, especially if you're a bunch of close-minded materialist scientists who believe nothing exists beyond this physical plane...and I think certain human beings are far more dangerous than aliens, in fact I believe it's the aliens who are afraid of us, looking at all that we have done on earth, and plan to do in space too!

I read in the Washington Post, that it was also suspected that a foreign country had hacked into cameras and things, and were spying.

I was surprised to see them go with the clickbait headline of aliens, though. Apparently, nobody knows what's going on (or they aren't allowed to speak).

Bottomline is that it was an act to 'protect'.

There was some kind of imminent danger, that if its reason were disclosed right now might cause even further danger of whatever-kind?

Interesting to muse about it.
Will be fascinating to find out what was going on, eventually.
