If someone, me, has a moon conjunct sn with pluto in 5h scorpio. Should they avoid investing in Stocks. The moon oppose 11h venus.

Would I build up more karma?

Stocks are an 8th house matter, I believe. Check what's in there, the house ruler and its aspects .

Would it depend on the nature of the stock investment? If it's short term, I feel it's like gambling in a way. Or maybe it's a combination of both 8h/5h

I see investments as more like a seed to plant rather than a gamble. Yeah, there's a likelihood you'll lose money, but that just shows how wisely you use your resources. Someone who loves to gamble doesn't think too much about details you would think of when investing. With gambling, it's all about thinking of the best possible outcome regardless of the risk. Investments are more of a calculated risk. That's why I don't see it as gambling.

But then again, that may just be my 2nd house sun talking.

I guess it would be more of a gamble if you were to, let's say, invest your money in some type of technology that no one else has invented and that could drastically change the way people live their lives. But even then, you still think of whether it is worth it or not.

I don't see what money has to do with the 5th house. Yes, the 5th house is gambling, but gambling is not always a money thing. It's very general. Specifically, money is the matter of the 2nd/8th house axis.

So if one has Venus conjunct Jupiter (7 degree orb) in the 8H, investing in stocks would be a great idea?

In general, yes, but you would still need to take transits into account to avoid blunders.

Can I ask for clarification? You are saying your Moon, SN, and Pluto are all in Scorpio in the 5th house? And that Venus is in Taurus in the 11th? Thus, your NN is also in Taurus in the 11th?

Page 137 of The Rulership Book by Rex Bills lists stock exchanges, stock market speculation as belonging to the 5th house, since that house covers not just gambling categorically, but all risk enterprise, including risk investment.

That is far different from buying government backed securities or bonds, or putting your money in long term investments or accounts that are backed by some kind of insurance. And far different from inheritances, trust funds, etc, that hold no risk.

The question of this thread cannot be answered here or with anything less than a birth chart that is fully verified and weighed with the timing of transits and progressions in the hands of a fully trained professional astrologer.

They're out of bound.
5H:
Moon in Libra (29°4')
SN in Scorpio (0°2')
Pluto (6°46'r)

11H:
Venus in Aries (23°7')
NN in Taurus (0°2')

Thanks Kannon, I was leaning towards 5H for stocks, esp short term. I googled and mostly found it relate back to Vedic astrology but I have been studying Tropical. Apologize for the lack of knowledge, from what I read it seems Vedic uses natal chart for indicator of luck instead of transit. Is this something that Tropical is different from Vedic?

The Rulership book is a book in English referencing western tropical astrology.
