The moon rules feelings. It shows the signs and people we connect with. In this thread I hope to examine the moon's role in our closest associations.

The Moon Complex is made up of the signs in the house the moon resides, as well as the sign placement of the ruling planet.

Eg. I have moon in Sagittarius in the 3rd house, with Scorpio on the cusp. Pluto, 3rd house ruler, in Libra. So, my moon complex is made up of Scorpio, Sagittarius, & Libra.

Libra, Scorpio, & Sagittarius are the signs that should pop up most often in the people I connect with - either in the Sun or Moon positions. Especially in combination.

I'm not sure this works on me. The type of people I connect with is signs not that directly connected to my moon "complex".

I connect with for ex uranian, saturnian, neptunian and arian people. I have aries stellium. also moon conj mars.

Libra too, (I have south node libra).

For me I attract and connect mostly with people having the same "vibe" as me, meaning similar or same planet aspects. Like mostly all of my friends have Neptune trine to their suns or other neptune aspects to their moons-mars etc.

Gemini people, I don't have in my life right now. Or two girl friends who have gemini suns, they connect immidiately with my sense of sarcastic humor instantly. But one is married and busy.. One is always working and busy...

One classmate has been in my orb for a while though. He has gemini venus, but he is unsuffarable, he just won't shut up! He is a compulsive talker! You cant encourage him in the slightest or he will go on and on and on, about himself...

Gemini is on my 3rd house cusp, Moon is in Cancer and ruler (Moon) is in that house.

So the signs I attract should be Gemini and Cancer. But I can't say that this is the case.

I connect with any Moon position that's able to articulate feelings (3rd) or is expressive.

So far its Libra ,Virgo and Pisces. There was an Aries Moon that I had awesome conversations with. But he also had Mercury/Sun conjunct.

Yes. With nMoon in Sagittarius I connect with this Sun instantly. I also attract a lot of Scorpios, and nMoon in Scorpio...with whom I collide with. In the earlier part of my life I was surrounded by Libras. Of the lot the Libra w/ nMoon in Sagittarius I had the best relationship with.

I've also had really good connections with Scorpio-Liba, and Scorpio-Sagittarius.

Basically people with at least one luminary from my Moon Complex.

I recently met an Aquarius-Scorpio, and was telling a third person about my experience dealing with him. This third person was in disbelief with the way I described the Aqua - needy and unrelenting. I guess the Aqua doesn't show this side to everyone. No sure I wanted to go there with him.

pisces on the cusp of 9th

neptune in capricorn in the 6th

I have only come into contact with 3 other pisces moons

one is a high school friend

the other is my cousin's baby who is now 3 years old

the other is a girl I became friends with last week!

on the other hand I know a handful of capricorn, libra and aries moons

my serious relationships have also been with people with these moon signs

I also get along well with leo, sagittarius and aquarius moons

my least favorite moons are gemini, virgo, scorpio and libra

favorite moons are capricorn, aries and leo

neutral moons are taurus, cancer, sagittarius, aquarius and pisces

I'm not sure about your theory

maybe it works in your case because the 3rd house is involved and thus the associations you make with people

my 3rd cusp for instance is in late virgo, and I knew a couple of virgo moons within family (my father, my mom is a virgo sun) and some no so close friends

it contains all of libra, and I have ceres in libra right opposite my mercury, so maybe that explains why I know so many libra moons

my only sibling has moon in libra

2 men who proposed to me also had this moon (one with virgo sun, leo AC and the other with aqua sun and scorpio AC), another one had moon in aries opposing those guys' moons (he has sun in gemini and AC in scorpio), and another one was a sagittarius sun with capricorn moon and leo AC

I have draconic AC in libra, and natal AC also falls in the libra duad of leo

my 9th house also contains late degrees of pisces and all of aries....again perhaps why I like aries moons

3.Ruler of the 3rd house is Mercury. Mercury is in Cap.

Oh so Gem,Cancer and Cap are the complex.

Well, so far no Moon/Sun in Cancer/Gem have I attracted. Been with a Cap Moon though(never again lol).

But I feel the aspects to my moon are much more telling... (square Uranus + Neptune, at apex of yod with Pluto / Chiron, trine Mars, trine Sun, contraparallel Saturn)

Basically, what you are saying is, :

1. Check your moon SIGN = that's the first sign in your MOON COMPLEX.
If the Moon is in Aquarius, this is the first sign in the MOON COMPLEX.

2. Check your Moon HOUSE. Now, find out what sign preoccupies this house, as determined by your Ascendant. This does NOT mean to check for other planets in this same house.
If your Moon is in Aquarius in the 4th house, BUT your 4th house is preoccupied by Pisces (as determined by your Ascendant, meaning your Imum Coeli is Pisces), therefore your Moon is intercepted, then the second sign in your MOON COMPLEX is Pisces.

3. Now notice the ruler(s) of the second sign in your MOON COMPLEX.
Pisces is the second sign in your moon complex. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. Your Jupiter is in Leo and your Neptune is in Sagittarius. Therefore, the final signs of your MOON COMPLEX are Leo and Sagittarius.

Final Meaning:
Aquarius, Pisces, Leo, and Sagittarius make up your Moon Complex

However, my 10th house is also Pisces and my sun is Capricorn, meaning my sun caters to my Pisces 10th house (natural ruler of Capricorn), so I think I would naturally have an affinity to Pisces regardless.

In that hypothetical situation, the answer is "yes". I guess I would go with what "feels" familiar.

I understand what you mean now. But I also think that many times it doesn't manifest as strict "Sun in Cancer" or "Moon in Gemini". It could be that the aspects are strong enough to give off that energy.

An example of this is when I started school this year. I didn't know anyone and when I walked into the lecture room and mingled with some people,guess whom the people were?

A Taurus with Moon in Aqua
A Cap/Aqua cusp person with Moon in Aries
A Libra with Moon in Virgo

And lastly a Leo with Moon in Sag.

Looks very random and unrelated at all to my Moon in 3rd house in Cancer. But upon closer inspection.

The Taurus with Moon in Aqua has the square to Sun (giving a Cancerian vibe albeit a square) and Mercury conjunct Mars(incessant chatter).

The Cap/Aqua individual with Moon in Aries also has Mars in Cancer with Mercury-Jupiter in aspect by sextile(big talker!)

The Libra had Moon in Virgo conjunct Mercury in Libra.

The Leo was the hardest to connect as I didn't see much beyond the Moon in Sag sextile Venus in Gemini aspect.

But when I looked at declinations. His Moon was parallel Jupiter, Mars in Cap parallel Moon. And he comes across as a very emotional Cancer individual.

I hope I didn't confuse things here.

Yes. The rules of attraction still applies, which for me is pMoon conjunct nAsc/nSun. My aim with this was to figure who the other person or persons are likely to be. Basically, is there a strict rule or no?

I had a similar experience earlier this year. Went into an office and quickly became friends with a Gemini-Virgo (two of my big three), that fizzled after the first week. Ultimately I was the most at ease around these people;

Gemini-Libra
Virgo-Scorpio
Libra-Sagittarius
Aries-Sagittarius
Aquarius-Sagittarius
Capricorn-Scorpio

These weren't perfect people or relationships, but I could actually get along with these people.

Funnily, there were two other lunar Scorpios;

Cancer-Scorpio
Virgo-Scorpio

Unlike the Virgo-Scorpio is the first group both of these guys had Mars in Cancer, same as the Gemini-Virgo...

But then again, it could have been aspects changing the dynamic altogether.

I find it interesting though that people we are "supposed" to be textbook attracted to. We are drawn away from.

And those whom we supposed to be drawn away from. We are attracted to.

But adding on to your theory.

My sister has Moon in 1st house

The house is Cancer/Leo

Moon is in Cancer (ruler of house)

Sun is in Taurus(other 1st house half ruler)

Sun is in the 10th house(Aries cusp).

So her Moon complex is Cancer,Leo,Aries and Taurus.

She is more of the Aries. Her Sun/Moon midpoint conjuncts Mars. So she likes guys who are calmer

The current boyfriend has Moon in Taurus
