Does anyone relate to their 7th house rulers for relationships? My 7th house (Sag) ruler is Jupiter in Aries in the 11th and I don't think I would ever want to marry any of those types of people.

I do find Sagittarius men, Aries men, and Aquarius men attractive but looking at those men in my life and also celebrity men with those types of placements...I honestly would never want to be in a relationship with any of them. Or marry any of them! I wouldn't even think of it. Not for a second.

I couldn't be with a man in active duty/active military either. I don't need that type of drama. I couldn't be with a man who was a politician or statesman either. Still too much drama. No athletes. Sweaty. Maybe I could be with a scholar but if that's all he does I'd get bored. My mutable love planets need more action in the daily life but not drama. I'd prefer to be in a relationship with someone who was more artsy, crafty and skilled, CLEAN, and humble. Which leads me to this point:

The men (in my personal life and also celebrities) I always envision myself marrying and having kids with and starting a long lasting family with have EARTH heavy in the chart. (Sometimes water too but typically only Scorpio and Pisces). They (Earth men) are also some of the most attractive men I've ever seen, in my experience. But my 7th house ruler doesn't really seem to match up with this. Is it the same for some of you?

Maybe it's my Capricorn placements screaming at me about how Sag men, Aries men, and Aqua men can all be extremely unreliable and unhelpful in relationships at times....and earth men are likely to be the exact opposite....

Also don't quote this, I might delete later for fear of upsetting the aforementioned men

My descendant being Sag too... I have to say I'm not really into any Sag type at all. I've met quite a few (even married one - not for now though) but so far haven't met one that I'd actually stay long term with. That being said, I rather prefer where its' ruler is at. Jupiter in Leo in my third house. About two lunar Leo's... The Sag Sun, meh. The other one, with a Pisces Sun, for sure. But the part that makes it all that interesting is the integration of where my ruling planet is at and where my descendant is at. Mercury in the 11th. I love 'quirky' people. And my descendant in the 3rd, I love those I can have great communication with. Those have to be there for sure.

And about your question, I think it's the overall quality of the combined energy. Say if someone has an afflicted sun in Sag, the quality wouldn't feel Sag-like. But if say Mercury is in Sag and prominent in their chart, that Sag will come through perhaps the way you like it to be.

And honestly, I really am not into Earth-like individuals, even though my Sun is in Taurus. It's in my twelfth house which is probably why I prefer the Pisces nature rather. Honestly over the rest of the water or Earth signs. Especially Virgo lol no offense you Virgo's, they're just too robotic and critical for my likings. And I should probably remove that last sentence 😆.

my moon and north node are in my 7th house (aries) conjunct my descendent and my fiancee is an aries moon

my mars is in capricorn (4th whole sign 3rd placidus) ive hooked up with capricorns but nothing long term we either get along or they dont like me because they think im an idiot and i think theyre boring

i have an easy time getting along with aries placements though i dont seem to have any lasting relationships with any aries suns

sometimes who you end up with isnt necessarily who you picture yourself with

in vedic if you look at the nakshatra the ruler of your 7th is in (so use sidereal placements) and it's supposed to describe your spouse

in my case it really does describe my fiancee so you might find that interesting

nakshatra really changes expression of a sign

this changes nothing for me in vedic everything just moves to pisces in mine but my fiancee's stuff does too so it matches up the same

@brenda_s

i don't disagree about a lot of virgos, especially ones who have mercury there with their suns

chart changes everything

Ive been investigating the 7th house ruler for quite some time and I found out that it attracts partners in 5 major ways. I don't know YET what prompts the native to follow one of the five or switch between them, but it is usually those five ways it attracts a partner.

1st is by sign on the 7th house cusp
2nd is by the sign of the 7th house ruler
3th is by the location of the 7th house ruler
4th is by the sign of the house which naturally rules the 7th house ruler or the 7th house cusp
5th way is by an exact conjunction between the 7th house ruler and an outer planet in the native's natal chart. For example, if your 7th house ruler conjuncts Pluto in your chart by 0-1 degree, you will be drawn like a magnet to Scorpio or Plutonic partners, despite the sign of the ruler.

I will explain the 4th Way with an example with my sister. Her 7th house is in Capricorn. Saturn, the 7th house ruler, is in Pisces. Pisces naturally rules the 12th house of the zodiac. Her 12th house is in Cancer.
She fell in love with 2 Cancer men in her life, only two love partners in her life she had, and she married the second Cancer man, and married for life.
So, she attracted her partners by the 4th way.

Another example is Ben Affleck.
He attracts partners by the 3th Way:

He has Capricorn on his 7th house.
Saturn, his 7th house ruler is located in his 12th house in his natal chart. All his recent love partners - Jennifer Lopes, Jennifer Garner and the blonde he partnered with after garner Lindsay Shookus, all three of them were lured into his 12th house on top of his Saturn ( in Gemini). Garner and Shookus are both Sun and Venus in Gemini, lured into his 12th house by his Saturn, Jen Lopez had Venus in Gemini on top of his Saturn.

Having to say that, Capricorncheriscty

look and see if you attract your partners by the 4th or the 5th way.

Your 7th house ruler is in Jupiter. Jupiter naturally rules the 9th house of the Zodiac. What sign do you have on your 9th house?

I just checked that-

My ex-BFF has Jupiter as her 7th house ruler. Her Jupiter is in Pisces. Pisces naturally rules the 12th house of the Zodiac. In her natal chart, her 12th house is in Leo. She married the love of her life - a Leo man.

^that makes more sense to me. Mercury rules my DC and my 6th house is ruled by Venus in Leo and my partners chart ruler is Venus and conjuncts my Venus, his Venus is also in mutual reception to his sun. I tend to end up with venusian guys.

Add in vedic my DC is ruled by Venus. In vedic my AC is in scorpio at 29 degrees.

My partner's DC is ruled by Pluto, his 8th is ruled by Jupiter in Virgo which conjuncts my Sun and Jupiter rules my chart.

Fascinating.

My 4th house is Virgo ruled by Mercury in Capricorn in the 8th. I do love virgo men beyond crazy and I do love Capricorn and Scorpio men lol.

5th house ruler is Venus in Sagittarius in 6th and again, could never be with a Sagittarius long term. Losing my mind just thinking of it! But Venus in 6th, I do like Taurus and Virgo men of course. Libra men seem iffy to me (flighty and a bit rude/fake) but I do like them very much.

My 9th house is Aquarius and its ruler is home in the 9th and in the 11th and I, again, could never be with an Aquarius or Sagittarius man long term...

Brenda that's interesting. I think maybe I prefer the essence of the 7th house ruler, than the actual signs. So, my Jupiter is in Aries in the 11th and I know I couldn't be with any of those three signs. But I would definitely like someone who portrayed those essences, without actually being the sign if that makes sense.

I would like him to be educated, scholarly even. Someone of worldly knowledge and open-minded. Someone who is very brave and not afraid of standing up for himself. Someone who is willing to protect me! Someone who can be quirky and flawed with me without caring about others opinions.

And the thing is, not every Sagittarius will be open minded and scholarly. Not every Aries is brave and combative. Not every Aquarius is quirky and flawed. So it makes sense that I prefer the actual essence of those signs rather than the actual signs in people themselves. I think.

Actually one of the guys I was most serious about had Mars-Uranus in 9th house (reflecting my Jupiter in Aries in 11th)!

The ruler of my Descendant is my Venus in Taurus. I like people with Taurean qualities but no seriously Taurean-influenced people. We'd clash, because they would be too much like me. For some weird reason, I like a little possessiveness in my partners. I'm definitely a fan of Taurean loyalty as well and I want a stable relationship with someone and truly feel like it's strong enough to last.

I have Venus in 6th house. I'm able to be attracted and interested in Virgos, but I prefer Virgo energy to be limited to Sun in Virgo and/or Mercury in Virgo. However, Mercury in Virgo is better off between 0 and 20 degrees. Basically, being square to my Gemini Moon would be a pain for us both. All this being said, someone with a different Mercury sign is likely to be easier to talk to. It's interesting that my Venus is trine Jupiter in Virgo, because I'm dating a Virgo Sun.

I'm really into Capricorn and Scorpio energy. It's often difficult to tell if I'd actually work out with people like this in practice, but I'm not sure what kind of people I'd actually work out with. I'm too lazy to try figuring it out. My twin flame comes across as being influenced by both these signs though.

That is interesting. I remember racking my brain, trying to figure out where exactly it starts making sense.

Dunno it just hit me when... say someone loves croissants... In their brain, they have a certain feel for what croissants should taste like. And if they taste one that doesn't match it, well do they not like croissants anymore? Not necessarily, it's just not in line with their perception of it.

Same thing, your Jupiter is probably different than my Jupiter, although it both rules our marriage house. You need to check the sign, house and planets that make aspects to it. That'll be the flavor partner you'd like.

And again, that overall flavor needs to be integrated well in that other person's chart too. Cuz if they are Martian by nature but kill people (weird example lol) it's probably not the type of 'Arian' nature you're looking for. Unless of course that would be prominent in your chart and the aspects made to your Jupiter.

But yeah really cool.

Jupiter ruling the 7th could suggest a partner that will expand your worldview considerably from the one that you have currently.

You may have a desire to explore all that life has to offer from a very broad(all encompassing) perspective. And the partner or ideal marriage candidate, brings this ability to do that at your front door.

They could be well travelled, well educated, people who are well informed, insightful, bilingual, have eclectic views, are from a foreign country but able to relate to you etc.

Suffice it to say,the partner is likely very engaging and vivacious. The type who hardly ever says "I don't know". Nor will be the type to keep their opinions to themselves .lol.

The latter will change of course if the ruler of the 7th is in the 12th. Or Jupiter is aspected by Neptune etc. In that case, they may be the type who are sensitive to other's impressions and are not likely to speak " off the cuff" most times.

In the latter case, they will "expand" your view in all things hidden or covert i.e spiritual, sexual or psychological matters etc.

7th house cusp in gemini,my mercury is also in gemini and i dont like gemini types, especially people with moon in gemini cause me stress with their constant blabla. So in my case 7 house ruler doesnt represent the type of people i like as partners.Which is weird since my venus is also in gemini and mercury is strong in my chart.

Where's Mercury located in your chart? And what planets are making aspects to it? Actually curious.

“No athletes. Sweaty.”
LOL

I see it just like you. I also haven’t dated many people of my DSC sign or my Venus/Mars sign. If any at all.
My Dsc is in Taurus. My Venus/Mars conj is in Aries. Haven’t met a Taurus or Aries Sun individual, I particularly liked.

I’m still attracted to the qualities of these signs, though!
I like men who are brave, and spontaneous, sometimes risky. I like it to be swept off my feet.
At the same time I crave stability. Someone who’s hands on,.. who gets the job done. Whose words have meaning! I find flighty, effeminate men rather unattractive.. although I’ve had some of those, too. Not my cup of tea, in the long run.

Once heard that the natural house ruler of where your Mars is at are generally the type of people you have a Martian connection with/don't particularly like. For me it certainly makes sense, never understood why Taurean's are too heavy and sensual/materialistic for me when I myself am one.

And you with you Mars in a Gemini house... Well same I guess.

Ha well alright. Although I generally also have my preferences, these are really just stereotypes. Liking a person would probably depend on how their chart is laid out. But I get it, with ya there.

I have Moon conjunct Jupiter in the 7th house (Leo) and my Sun is in the 12th house (with the majority of my other planets). I am Aqua rising and nearly all of my relationships were with Aquarians. I married an Aquarian, too, lol (all of this before I studied astrology).

My husband has a 12th house Sun as well but Pisces rising. My mother is an Aquarius Sun and Moon. I <3 Aquarians

There is a Virgo Sun/Gemini Moon lady who just got engaged to her Pisces Sun/Aqua Moon man after a brief dating period.

I noticed that her Dsc is Leo and her DSC ruler(Sun) is conjunct Saturn. So I was really thrown. I though Cap men were her style.

But then her man's Moon is conjunct Saturn. And Saturn also squares his Scorpio Mars widely. So he has those "Cap/Saturn" qualities that she is looking for.

Interestingly enough, in the Draconic chart. His Leo Moon conjuncts her Natal DSC by 1 degree close to exact.
