According to Pullen this person is Scorpio, Pluto, Water, and Fixed dominant all the way through. Do you agree with this or not and why?

I suppose it depends on how one regards Pullen's method. I personally see a connection in my own chart, among others. Although, that's my own opinion, of course.

From what I have gauged over the years, strong Scorpio placements are VERY apparent in an one's personality, especially with that fixed “my way or the highway” mentality. Stellium in the 8th house, plus the chart ruler located in the 8th. Also Mars conjuncting Pluto and the South Node in Scorpio. Yup, that should do it.

Not to mention the Taurus Ascendant, Moon/IC in Leo, and Jupiter/MC in Aquarius. Fixed all the way.

Do you personally see Scorpionic/fixed traits in this person?

Scorpio: No. As to signs, Capricorn is clearly dominant and the final signature is Fixed Earth (assuming the Asc sign is actually Taurus).

Pluto: No. It is important to distinguish between a chart that has a strongly featured planet and a person's actual stronger planets overall. Mars conjunct Pluto in Scorpio does not make Pluto the dominant planet. Pluto increases the strength of Mars in this conjunction as it is the personal planet. Outer planets strengthen inner ones by aspect. Outer planets are strengthened by their chart position (direction/house) and number of aspects.

Sun is stronger due to its aspects in extreme declination with Venus, Uranus, Neptune. Saturn is clearly stronger due to its angular position in the 7th house and in at least a wide contra-parallel to Asc, as seen in the Shadbala graph from recreating an approximate chart:

Water: No. As to element, already covered above. Sun, Venus, Neptune, Asc, North Node are in earth signs.

Fixed quality: yes, already covered. Part of Fixed Earth signature.

No.

They're an earth dominant, first and foremost. I mean, obviously, their Capricorn stellium plays out in a very emotional, intuitive sense in the 8th house, but it's still an earth stellium. And then there's their Taurus ASC. I would say that this person is more likely to come off as practical, hardworking, nonsense type of personality. But maybe in a more quiet, subtle way than your typical Cap.

I see their Pluto/Scorpio influences. It just looks like they have a lot of other influences at play here, too. Their Cap & Taurus influences are not underrepresented in their chart.

Thanks for the responses. I agree that this is definitely a Capricorn/Earth dominant chart and not Scorpio/Pluto dominant. With this my belief that Pullen is a poor/flawed system is reinforced.

I think Shadbala does not take outer planets' influence into consideration though, does it?

Yes astro.com has a weird algorytm it seems as it gives outer planets highers score, or thats what I have found when I look a friend and family charts.

But this site that some in this forum mentioned imo has such a great algorytm finding the dominants. https://www.horoscopeyourself.com/personal-horoscope/

The site looks old yes, but the info you get there is so great, also as said, the algrytms they use seems to me to be the real deal but I'm no pro^^

Every website I've seen uses different methods to determine natal dominants, regardless of whether or not they use the same house system. For example, I believe astrotheme's dominants calculator seems far more accurate, though you have to pay for the service. You can also see their celebrity dominants compared to astro's and see it is a bit more accurate. Astrotheme says they take more criteria into account for their chart readings other than just general things. I wanna know exactly what it is though because...lol.

For free dominants, I would recommend 12andus.

I can actually see both earth and water dominant in your friend's chart. Most of their planets are in water houses and then pluto home in scorpio near an angle. The water house stellium also belonging to Pluto. Also, I'm wondering, is this a noon chart or this chart has the actual birth time?

Nope 12Andus was one of the worse I have seen! It chooses dominants based only on asc ruler, it is not able to do more adwanced calculations then that. So sorry but that sites algorytm sucks worse then astro.coms algorytm :/

But their astrology reports with birtchart answers etc I really like so its a site I use for their reports

https://www.horoscopeyourself.com/personal-horoscope/ Seems to have a very good algorym where it also lists all your planets % wise. Check that one out and compare them if you like Maybe I just had better luck?

In the end I suspect a pro astrologer is better at seing patterns wholly and dominant planets etc but one wish there would be programs as good as an astrologer indeed
