My question with the Sun/Moon combination is this;

Would the two planets have to be within aspect in order for one to "recognize" the qualities?

So for instance if I have Aqua Sun and Virgo Moon at 18 Degrees and 17 Degrees respectively. This is an in-conjunct aspect.

Would I better recognize this in-conjunct dynamic better than someone who does not have the two within aspect?

If the degree is irrelevant however, than it topples the orb aspect focus that chart interpretation is built on.

But if the degree is relevant, than I can't take Sun/Moon seriously as they are not within aspect in my chart. So the two working in "tandem", is lost to me.

SUN IN GEMINI – MOON IN VIRGO
The Gemini sun Virgo moon combination suggests a personality that is very smart and perceptive but also modest. They love to learn and they avail themselves to experiencing things that will enrich them. Although they may have a slightly introverted bend, they can be very social and engaging. In their youth they are likely to have been quite precocious and advanced beyond their peers. It may have been more common for them to interact with adults than people their own age because of how bright and well articulated they could be.

As a Gemini sun Virgo moon, making up their minds may always be a predicament. Their moods and opinions seem to change with the wind. It is hard to know which version of them you will meet from one encounter to the next. All together, they are very sweet and polite individuals who often smile and laugh. They try to take good care of themselves and look after their health with moderate diet and exercise. They may display a similar attentiveness and concern for other people especially those among the ranks of friends and family.
The Gemini sun Virgo moon man or woman is likely to have some perfectionist tendencies and may place a lot of pressure on themselves to do well and live up to their personal expectations. Although they are generally good at rolling with the punches they may on occasion let some things get to them more than they should. They may deal with neurotic feelings of doubt and inadequacy and stress about the future. When things go wrong, they can sometimes overreact and blow situations out of proportion.

Gemini sun Virgo men and women are quite confident in their ability to think and make good smart decisions when they need to. They’re uncomfortable gloating or boasting about themselves but they have no shortage of confidence. Some might consider them arrogant and self righteous. They tend to have strong opinions and views and can argue them with a great deal of tenacity and sure-mindedness.

Sun in Gemini – As a Gemini sun, you are inquisitive and restless with an open mind for learning a variety of things. You have a cerebral nature and are likely to be very bright and able to grasp new ideas quickly. Communication is your forte even if you happen to be shy and socially awkward. Whether introverted or extroverted, Geminis are an almost always interesting and fun companion to have. Sometimes you are a bundle of nerves and can feel intense anxiety even while appearing relatively stable on the outside.

Gemini sun is typically very chatty and can make conversation on almost any topic. Geminis tend to be outgoing and comfortable in most social situations. They can be very charming and are almost always amusing, humorous and witty. They tend to have a knack for words and prove to be very clever and manipulative in how they use them. On the other hand, Gemini sun can be very narcissistic and arrogant especially in regards to their intellect. They may at times put other people off with their hubris and sometimes grandiose self image they display.

They have a proclivity for scattering their energy and dabbling in a multitude of things but only to a shallow extent. Gemini sun is inclined to become a Jack of many trades but a master of none. Gemini can also appear superficial and glib and while they are able to form many connections and associations with people, most of them may not be very deep or intimate.

Moon in Virgo – You have a strong need for security and your constant concern is to keep your intimate environment under control. You treasure and you protect all the things that make you feel comfortable. You have no exaggerated ambitions, no grandiose and boundless dreams. You only strive to organize all the elements of your everyday life, to find a place for each thing and to improve yourself.

You can relax only if your habits are not disturbed by external events. You are selective in your intimate sphere and with your attachments, you are perfectly organized and in line with the self-set rules you establish as time goes by. For you, life is a puzzle composed of human pieces, a chessboard where you move according to an obvious logic. Daily landmarks and well-known items are important to you. You have the soul of a collector.

Rather a suitable combo for a librarian, wouldn't you say!

Some parts are accurate some are not. I certainly have the Virgoan organization skills but otherwise I don't identify much with Virgo. I'm no neat perfectionist, nor am I very analytical. I don't have a whole lot of ambition though, that's true... I'm happy living an unassuming lifestyle.

And I am rather grounded and stable for a Gemini, no neurotic tendencies here!

I have a square aspect. This site interpretation is on point for me.

My point exactly. I don't have any aspect between the Sun and Moon. So would this make it "harder" to recognize their combined relationship?

My Sun is closer to Neptune/Jupiter and Mercury(parallel) than the Moon. Is the Sun/Moon combined interpretation still relevant in my case?

Iyho....the plot thickens

My thinking is that the Sun/Moon would be applicable to the square, opposition or conjunction?
