Something I'm generally curious about: as Chinese Astrology doesn't (to my knowledge) have any obvious explanation in Western Astrology, do any Chinese Sign traits we may see in ourselves actually come from natal placements instead?Using myself as an example, I've always had a part of me that's not felt "typical" Capricorn despite having many personal planets in Capricorn (Sun, Venus, Mercury): I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve more than be traditionally "cool" and in the past could be incredibly impatient. And whilst I do love old things (buildings, folklore, etc) and can be very nostalgic I've also more than once been accused of being an aging hipster and heading off in a hundred different directions at once. Everything seemed to click into place when I discovered my Chinese sign was a Tiger - apparently Tiger tends to "warm up" Capricorn a little and Capricorn add a bit of stability to Tiger. I've read them described as a "whirlwind of staccato remarks" who tends to forget social etiquette which does tend to describe me somewhat. However, I'm now wondering if my Sagittarius Mars and Leo Ascendant may actually be the cause of these "Tigerish" traits - Sagi Mars (which is in my 5th House) definitely seems to have similarities, however I wonder if it would be strong enough, on its own, to overcome my Capricorn stellium? My Moon's in Virgo, so yet more Earth, so I feel that's unlikely to be the cause. Has anyone had any similar thoughts or experiences or research they can share? IP: Logged |

i got a reading a while back from a guy who studied chinese astrology and asked me for a chart with more than just year in itmy year is tiger too (fire tiger) but broken down further it's monkey (fire monkey) month, pig (earth pig) day, snake (earth snake) hour, and monkey (water monkey) minute using just the year isn't at all what chinese astrology is (the way vedic isnt just moon nakshatra and western isnt just sun) and it's actually a lot more complex even more interesting is his reading was in line with western and vedic readings, they all pull up the same **** im not sure where he was able to study so deeply, but if you can find sources it's a lot deeper than you realize i found it mindblowing anyway how much depth he found in what looked like nothing to me IP: Logged |

yeah, i had no idea until that guy asked to see my chart up until then i thought it was just year it breaks down into transits in a sense too based on the elements and animals in any given year on any given day in comparison to the ones you were born with i have no feel for it though and don't know much of anything about it unfortunately lost touch with that guy too but there's lucky and unlucky days and there were other things i didnt really get that he went on about it all added up more or less to the same things my chart has anyway with a large part of my chart hinging on 2 conflicting kinds of energy libra/aries (tropical) virgo/pisces (vedic) or in the case of chinese astrology the guy focused on monkey/tiger they're "enemy" signs or something like that there's a lot of depth to it, but it's like iching for me except iching makes more sense i just dont care for all the work required to divine things from poetry i just cant grasp chinese systems well, probably cultural bias IP: Logged |

Virgo ruled by mercury and falling into a mercury house...I would think this moon is very communicative and love a good mental connection. Doesn't sound like a quiet moon. IP: Logged |

Not to discount Chinese astrology. I know very little about it. But I will add that what you just briefly described about your personality sounds like some.of it is already explained by your placements. Would you mind posting your chart? Moon in 3rd house is familiar to me(I have it too). And what you said there about being "all over the place" sounds much like that position. IP: Logged |

Your chart shows a couple of planets close to your anglesPluto is conjunct Ic/oppose Mc Chiron is conjunct Mc/ oppose Ic Saturn is square Mc/Ic Uranus is square Asc/Dsc Sun square Mc/Ic Chiron is laced all over your chart. And I think its this "hippie" energy that you speak of. Because Chiron is a strongly spiritually inclined planet that deals with wounds as well as the healing of those wounds. Sun square Chiron Mercury square Chiron Venus square Chiron Mars trine Chiron Saturn square Chiron Pluto(widely opposes) Chiron Uranus on the Asc/DSC by square wants you to go on your way & steer clear of things that are binding and/or restrictive. So you could come across to people as a "maverick" and even "unstable" Add to that the Jupiter(in its traditional domicile in Pisces) as well as its mutual reception and square to its modern ruler Neptune in Sag conjunct Mars. So there is a great deal of dreaming of a Utopia and idealism. A lot of energy(Mars) invested in concerns for humanity, the bigger picture and the direction of man(Jupiter/NEP square) Yes,Saturn is on Sun by opposition as well as Mc/Ic by square . And this should ground the nature somewhat by offering an energy that self evaluates and reflects on itself (opp) Critiquing itself as it goes (Saturn). With Sun square the Mc/Ic angle, there is a need to be authentic and true. To be an example of your own truth. And likely to be known for that authenticity (Mc/Ic) Chiron square also on the Mc/Ic says that "flaws" or "wounds" (likely painful) are character traits that you don't want to hide from the world. Sun-Chiron often speak of complete self-love. Flaws and all. And complete/holistic self-acceptance I.e "beautifully imperfect" The added Chiron on Saturn-Sun opposition and aspects of Chiron to other planets, does add an eccentricity within you that is palpable. Its not the same as Uranus's eccentric nature. Although there is meeting ground. Chiron people tend to speak in terms that other people don't understand and think "weird". They speak of "vibrational body force","body consciousness" or "body dissociative pain" etc. Things of "energy", "light", "vortex of experience", " astral projection" etc. In many ways, they go against the grain of "convention". So that's why they are also seen(like Uranus) as "cuckoo". But whilst Uranus is focus more on the cerebral and conceptual ideals, Chiron wants to get in touch with the physical and tangible. They don't detach themselves from the world because it is " broken". Dream of escaping or going elsewhere where its "evolved". Like Uranus types often do. They are interested in using alternative, ancient or even progressive methods in recycling, restoring and healing whatever chasm there is that is in existence. In your chart, the Cap qualities are there, but there is a " twist". Alanis Morisette's "Hand in pocket" comes to mind. Especially when she says; "I'm high but I'm grounded. I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed. I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby..."

Wow! Thanks Aries! That's astonishing! It sounds spookily accurate to me, but I guess I'd have to ask people who know to be sure! And Hand in Pocket is probably my favourite Alanis song. Played it many a time when I've felt life's got me down. IP: Logged |

I've been seeing a lot of posts where people say the haven't been felling very cap like with lots of cap placements. pluto is transforming what cap means. so all the prestige, hard work, reward, rigidity, status chasing is being postponed for a whileIP: Logged |

Well you have Pluto conjunct IC and Moon conjunct Pluto and your MOON trines VENUS which rules your IC so yes I would say you are intense emotionally and sensitive or as you put it wear your heart on your sleeve (moon trines your IC ruler). You probably enjoy talking a lot too in spite of having sun in cap and moon in virgo bc you have moon trine mercury.BTW your moon conjuncts my Sun in virgo by 1 degree. IP: Logged |

Dax Shepard was born a day earlier than you, I am just watching a movie with him in it right now, today is his birth day LOL, total coincidence..He is a super humble and down to earth charming Capricorn, I love his vibe, I think that moon in Virgo with moon in sag makes him really charming, chill, go with the flow and humble/down to earth. Very cool cap, I love his personality. He totally has a hippie mutable vibe going and does not appear capricorn to me... He does have mars conjunct neptune too and jupiter in pisces, totally has a hippie vibe, so chill. I feel he is sag riser like me with mars in sag in the 1st and jupiter in Pisces ruling his chart...
