I didn't learn anything I wasn't previously aware of, except for this: my mother said that at some point in the hours after I was born, she noticed that her watch stopped working--this was the 70s, so it was a quartz wristwatch. She said that in those days, she always wore a wristwatch, so she asked my father to bring her another watch from home. He did, and she put it on, but noticed sometime later that it had stopped working. She then asked my father to bring another watch from home, and the same thing happened: the third watch was functioning normally when she put it on, but soon after, it stopped working.

This all happened in the hospital immediately following my birth. She said that in those days, it was not uncommon to stay at the hospital for 1-3 days after giving birth--she stayed for three days after I was born, so this all happened in the timespan of those three days. After getting home from the hospital, she eventually took the three watches to a watch repair and the guy said it was likely that the watches had been demagnetized. He checked them out, that was indeed the case, and he was able to re-magnetize them, and they worked fine after that.

On hearing this, my first thought was that there must have been something relating to being in the hospital that caused the watches to be demagnetized--maybe interference from hospital equipment or something--but after doing some googling, I'm not so sure. After all, the watches were initially working; it was only after she wore them that they stopped working. I am wondering if there might be something that occurs to the body having to do with electromagnetic energy during or after childbirth?

Are there any planets or aspects related to magnetic energy? Have any of you experienced glitches or aberrations to energy or magnetic fields and is there anything in your chart that seems to be a hotspot for this type of thing?

The only thing I can think of astrologically is Uranus.

The question to ask is if this is a common occurrence or if the hospital story is the main one.

Other wise yes, usually Uranus (or Mercury) can have an affect on electronics and/or watches/devices.
