Hi LindaLanders

I was wondering if one such thing as inheriting ones parents' signs is actually a thing?

My husband:
Sun: Virgo
Moon: Taurus
Ascendant: Gemini
Mars : Leo

My son:
Sun: Gemini
Moon: Virgo
Ascendant:Taurus
Venus: Leo

I am mind blown :-O

Also how can you figure out your past life connections to someone? I am guessing IC of the composite or sun in the composite or synastry chart?

My last question is regarding what the rising sign says about the childhood? I read somewhere that Capricorn rising = bad childhood, but I can't find it... Do you know such resource?

Past life look for south node and pluto conjunctions. 4th would deal more with heriteage as would the 8th. The amounts of retrogrades symbolizes do over and repeated lessons for what ever aspects.

Google My asc is in cap and it's crazy I ws just thinking about my childhood. It wasnt bad we weren't severely impoverished but I enjoy being an adult immensely compared to being a child. I really only enjoyed video games and sports, which i still indulge in heavily today. I was always bored. My saturn is conjunct the asc as well with it one degree in the 12th. I started dealing with music and car culture later on.

Would the composite chart be the right place to look?

I remember reading it about Cap rising and thinking it holds true for my cousin growing up with a functioning drug addict father (only to the outside would) and a codependent mother who will not leave him..

I have been looking to Kapiel Raaj (KRS Channel on YouTube) For his X Rising Sun in Y th house on our Vedic charts which are quite accurate, but I'd like something
similar for Western astrology, as that is was I learned first:-D

Didnt mean to type google that was auto correct lmao. For past life yes as well as progessions to them. And yes my father is an alcoholic as well. His saturn is a cpl degrees out outside of a conjunction I believe. It may be conjunct I dont know his birth time.

Ye idk any tropical astrologers who would have anything that digs deeper than the surface with sun and asc combinations.

Themes exist very, very strongly in families. See Liv Tyler's family's charts for instance (astro.com) - A Scorpio/8th house theme jumped out to me when I saw it the other day.

I've always thought the conjunctions to the South Node in Synastry were the only definite signifiers of past life connections.

I'll take a look to the composites:-)
My husband's cousin who believes in past lives, noted that our son just looks completely overjoyed when seeing people from our families and extended families as if he just missed them so much... I also got that feeling about him :-D

My sun is in my son's 8th house and his sun is in my 12th house.. maybe it's just that. I feel the most intense kind of love for him

It's so new to me. I only ever knew my sisters' and nephews' TOB, so I could never make any correlations like that... We don't have anything that striking in common :-)

there's definitely family ties, and even the people we're attracted to reflect similar traits, at least in my experience

in vedic it's narrowed down even further with nakshatras matching most of the time

using those placements:

i'm pisces (revati) moon/north node, virgo (chitra) ascendant conjunct chitra ketu and hasta venus, leo (magha) sun, cancer (ashlesha) mercury, sag (purva ashadha) mars

fiancee is pisces moon (uttara bhadrapada)and north node (revati), capricorn (sravana) ascendant, scorpio (jyestha) sun (conjunct saturn), scorpio (anuradha) mercury, libra (swati) venus, aquarius (satabhisha) mars

older brother is scorpio (anuradha) moon, aquarius (dhanishta) ascendant, virgo (uttara phalguni) sun, virgo (hasta) venus and mercury, cancer (pushya) mars

younger brother is cancer (ashlesha) moon, scorpio (jyestha) sun/venus, sag (moola) mercury, and taurus (krittika) mars (retrograde) unknown ascendant

mother is a pisces moon (revati), virgo sun (hasta) libra (swati) mercury and venus with a libra ascendant (vishaka), gemini mars (ardra)

father is a gemini (ardra) moon/venus, cancer sun (ashlesha) cancer merury (pushya), virgo mars (uttara phalguni) unknown ascendant

niece (older brother's daughter, he's a single father i dont know her mother's birthday) is a gemini (probably punarvasu) moon, libra mercury (swati), libra sun/venus (vishaka), sag mars (purva ashada) unknown ascendant

also sometimes placements can be similar, my mother is a 12th house sun 1st house venus and so am i (my venus is conjunct ascendant and hers isnt though, but still)

My son inherited me and my husband's signs of our personal planets.

Me: Aries Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus, Taurus Mars and Virgo AC.
Husband: Scorpio Sun, Pisces Moon, Libra Venus, Virgo Mars, Sagittarius Mercury, Pisces AC.
Child: Pisces Sun, Scorpio Moon, Aries Mercury/Venus, Taurus Mars, Libra AC.

Even more interesting is our child's NN conjunct my AC and oppose my husband's AC.

There are definitely some themes going on between chartsso I wonder if there is a chance that certain patterns might be passed on.

I've noticed this with my family, especially with aspects. My mother and sister both have Taurus Sun and Moon conjuncting each other with my sister having the tightest orb at 0 degrees. Mom also has Mars in the 1st like me.

Me and my father both share the same planets in a grand trine with the kite (his kite involves the same planet that I have, but aspecting another in the rotation) and possibly in all the same water houses as mine too (it's possible one planet is off in another house with a slightly different time). I've never seen anyone in real life or online with the same planets in most of the same houses that I have in my grand trine. It shocked me when I first saw it. Dad also has Mercury in the 4th like me (one of the planets that happens to be part of the grand trine) and may have Sun on the IC like I do as well, but I'm not quite sure on that one due to him being unsure about his exact time. I should get his chart rectified someday.

My family each has something in Taurus that is prominent as well. Both my mother and sister's Taurus placements obviously, with my father also having a Taurus Moon, and me with my Taurus Mars chart ruler.
