Can't know that from this placement alone. Motivation and willingness are the keys to being a good father. Flexibility and attentiveness are keys to being a good parent. Lots of people have that in potential, and there are lots of astrological factors that show it potentially, but good parenting comes down to daily choices.

From what I've seen, yes. It helps. Obviously the whole chart and the aspects to Mars matter blah blah blah but it seems to give the men I know a very soft edge, and makes them naturally quite nurturing. Maybe even moreso than their female partners! I see men with Cancer Mars tend to be very good "girl dads" if that makes sense. They don't seem to be as macho and are less intimidating.

I see Mars in Cancer as very macho types tending towards hyper masculinity, muscles and being "the man". And so i would agree that they would make better girl Dads than when with sons.

There is a tendency to be hard, fault finding and very critical with boys. Perhaps one thinks that they are "preparing" them for a "tough" world or something. Because the intimidation doesn't let up.

A wonderful Dad I envied and wanted to be my Dad had Mars in Sag conj Jupiter(Sun in Virgo). I was super envious of my neighbor because he had a great relationship with his father and expressed mad love for him.

I see what you mean. Maybe the knowledge of astrology jades you but I think I see right through it when a Cancer Mars tries to posture himself. You just KNOW it's not because they truly feel that way, but that they're trying to be that way...

Funny about Sag Mars. My Dad has this and is/was great, in mine and my brother's eyes. He was always involved in our lives and activities, only disciplined us when necessary, and treated us equally. He never favored my brother over me or vice versa. He may even border on a little passive because when I reflect back, he never really injected himself into our lives when it came to our own individual decision making. He very much left us to make our own mistakes and trusted us to make the right decisions ultimately (my Mother was the one to have all the opinions!). You can tell he truly enjoyed being a Dad.

He is a Cap ASC/Aries Sun/Taurus Moon/Pisces Mercury/Taurus Venus/Sag Mars.

Sounds more like a general Pisces Male sun trait. 7/10 Pisces Males always have the need to feel important unless there are other aspects in the chart.

Its the same way as saying a 7/10 Gemini Males will say lots of things unless there are other aspects such as cancer or Taurus.

I wouldn't attribute the ego to mars in cancer.

My Cancer Mars husband's father has Mars in Cancer. I can see how my husband has difficult relationship with his father, but he still doesn't want to open up to me about his relationship with him. I only know they have physical fight in the past through his ex long-time gf because it happened when they were in a relationship.

I guess his family has a lot of secrets/issues that he tries to hide from me.

I think that's why he feels awkward being a Father to our daughter. I can feel his detachment to her although sometimes he wants to get involved bathing her, changing her diapers and clothes, or hold her to sleep. The Fatherly sense isn't coming naturally I feel.

That’s unfortunate have you tried counseling?

I don't think he would love the idea as he also doesn't like to talk about our problems if I try to bring it back to the surface we are only in an argument.

But I'll try to talk to him about that. Thank you. I hope he wants to cooperate.

Had Daddy issues myself too. Is there Mars/Pluto on the Ic? Or perhaps Chiron/Saturn or Chiron/Sun?

He can't defend himself in any way.

Someone says something to the family and he'll just stand there like a sheep would, calm and quiet, waiting for the calamity to pass

I've never seen him stand for anything. Doesn't want to work, cook or do anything. Has tons of girlfriends my age after my mother passed away and is now living on my mother's money.

This is true. All Pisces males I've seen have a rap-ey vibe.

What sign is your Pluto in?

- Sun Conjunct Chiron.
- Sun/Chiron Opposite Saturn.

Not sure about the IC, I don't have his exact birth time, only the information about in the morning. But he has Mars/Pluto trine.

When his ex gf was angry finding out he wasn't faithful (well, both of them actually), she revealed his relationship with his father by comparing them (him & his father) and made a "quote term" which took me by surprised. I confronted him with all including asking him what happened between him and his father and his family situations. He didn't answer right away about his father and his family upbringing. I didn't rush him. But I made it clear that I need to know and told him a little bit about the psychology affect it might bring that I was concerned. I need to wait for several weeks until he was ready to talk by himself. (but it's more way complicated than he told me at the time)

Do you have Sun/Saturn hard aspect?

Isn't it Sun/Saturn hard aspect also may indicate "Daddy issue"? My ex also has Sun/Saturn opposition and he wasn't having good relationship with his father either, he told me his father had anger issue (not sure if there was physical abuse) and he admitted that he didn't have good relationship with his father for years that led him to leave the house and live by himself with few money. The time I met him, it was 10 years he didn't speak to him. I encouraged him to initiate talking with his Dad and that was the first time after 10 years he came back to his parents house to visit them.

I personally don't really Pisces men all the ones I know are alcoholics or in rehab. I attract them though. It's my Venus in Pisces I bet. A rap-ey vibe? As in being a rapist?

Yes. And I'm not the only one with this opinion.
Check out the Moon in Scorpio men thread, there has been good discussion on Pisces males there

Yes. Chiron can be a painful wound and when reacting with Saturn/Sun jointly. It points to authority figures. And more especially with Sun, there is Daddy involved in that hurt.

Its the search for indentity completion(when Sun/Chiron) through wanting a divine Father to "heal" these wounds so to speak. I know all about it

In my case, it manifested as an inferiority complex. Feeling like I didn't know or wasn't "taught" /guided on how to be a man. Thus making me feel "incompetent" within that regards(ofcourse its all in ones own perception of oneself i.e a wounded(Chiron) self image(Sun)).

Being a Dad can help with those wounds. And its ironic that he detaches from his daughter. Because being demonstrative of the warmth(Sun) that he failed to receive from his Dad(Saturn/chiron), could definitely change his mind about himself.

Chiron is essentially "demonstrate the healing that which you feel you need". And that is how you manage the "wounded" self perception. You see yourself as a "healer" instead of a "leper".

I have Draco Saturn trine natal Sun. Natal Chiron inconjunct Sun. Neptune conjunct Sun.
