In my case, it is my Leo Mercury in the 3rd House because I think in a very precise, detailed and objective way. It's like I do not know what feelings and emotions are. As a matter of fact, I think I would slightly panic if someone were to burst into tears in front of me ... My first thought would be "How fast can I end this?"What about you? What rules your mind and thought-process? IP: Logged |

I think the Moon is the Mind, The Sun is the Soul. ------------------ “When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream.” -The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho AresIP: Logged |

The "Holy Trinity" of the character are The Ascendant, The Sun, and The Moon - in that order. Therefore, some people do not relate to their Moon Sign, at all. IP: Logged |

Me being one of them. I definitely wouldn't say I have the mind of a Gemini. In my mind? Extremely emotional, going over emotions, arguments in the past, the feelings I have for other people. Analyzing people and situations, immersing myself into a world of my own creation. Not sure what this would be. IP: Logged |

What about the ASC? My Virgo Rising seems to rule my thinking more than anything else.IP: Logged |

Mercury itself does, but Moon influences it as a stronger core influence, just as Sun does. Sign describes style, not energetic substance. That is Mercury. For me personally, Mercury is in Taurus in the 9th house, thus the poetry, the orientation to the big picture, the abstract, symbols, languages (astrology), philosophy, ideals, etc. ------------------ "Drift like a cloud and flow like water, seeing that all life is a magnificent illusion, a playing of energy, and there is absolutely nothing fundamentally to be afraid of." -- Alan Watts Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert Rectification IP: Logged |

Yeah, I agree with Kannon.I see Moon as the emotional mind i.e what you learn in as far as emotional triggers are concerned. I see Mercury as the rational mind i.e what you read, talk about and within a day. You have forgotten about. I see Sun as the ego "mind".How one evaluates oneself and how highly(or poorly) one thinks of ones own opinions. IP: Logged |

Mercury definitely is the mind for me. I think I process about 1000/sec, not even gonna lie. I think the next few words to say as I'm talking or typing. I'm always ahead. Maybe I'll take a few steps back to fix a few things, but my rational mind is very quick. I enjoy the few times it does shut up. Emotions do have an effect on my thought processes at times when they're overwhelming. But once the logic kicks in, I'm back to thinking clearly. I usually know when it's my emotions talking or my head. The things I think and say can be downright offensive, hence the edits and paraprashing. Sometimes I say things not to offend but because I notice them, but some people don't get that.I have Mercury in Virgo in the 3rd and I'm a Gemini rising. It might be different for someone who is more emotion-based, someone with heavy water in their chart. IP: Logged |

It really is a mix for me. They're both just as influential. If someone were to burst into tears in front of me, my Gemini Moon in my 4th house is going to take over. I'm going to talk you through it until you're more stable. I won't fluff an ego with lies, though. It's just my instinct to not leave someone in clear distress. If we're arguing logistics of a project or plan, my Virgo Mercury in 7th house is evident. Buried in the details of something I deem important, my brain can stay stuck in that mode for a long time. I can turn off all outside "noise" and stay focused on the subject. IP: Logged |

It's hard to say since my Moon and Mercury are both in water signs along with my Sun. I would say my 12th house Pisces Moon just a tad bit more than my 4th house Cancer Mercury, which is interesting because supposedly it is one of my weakest planets according to a system under Vedic astrology, but I know for sure I feel it A LOT since I relate heavily to the Pisces and 12th house qualities of it, fitting them to a T. I would say it's one of my most prominent planets (people tend to think I'm a Pisces for some reason). My Cancer Mercury is still very strong though, since I have my Sun and many Cancer placements in my chart overall while it's also in the 4th house. I do usually communicate with pathos over logos. I don't feel the 3rd house (ruled by Gemini) at all really despite my Sun being there. However, my Sun is located a few degrees before the 4th conjuncting my IC with no other planets in the 3rd, so that could be why. IP: Logged |

funny i have leo mercury as well and i couldn't be more different than what you've describedi don't usually notice details (details aren't exactly leo mercury trait to my knowledge though to begin with), i tend to generalize and look at the larger picture and usually it takes another person to point out the things i overlook i wouldn't say i'm precise either, because if i have the gist of something i'm good and will form ideas based on that i prefer to think while acting on things and often only fully form thoughts (whether or not i seem stubborn or confident about them is totally different) after already discussing them from my initial gut impression perspective i don't generally approach things in an objective manner and i definitely know what feelings and emotions are (they can be a big part of how i react or think about things, either my own or other people's) when people burst into tears in front of me i don't panic, i'm used to people coming to me with their emotional baggage so it's pretty standard i just try to calm them down and listen to them my moon and mercury are trine (leo/aries) btw

i'm with vedic astrologers on moon and rising being more important than sun tbh not only because i don't find my sun sign particularly relatable but because most people don't reflect their sun as strongly as other signs it's shared by everyone in such a long span of time that it's more impersonal than the other two in shaping a person ultimately it's an undertone in many cases

I think it depends on the person. I don’t find my moon sign relatable and other people around me don’t see my moon signs traits in me ------------------ I appreciate the masterpiece that is you, because your existence alone is art IP: Logged |

i know, that's why i said "many" and "most" anything can change one person's experience of a placement or the way it manifests

Also depends on what our moon's ruler is aspecting. ex: Virgo moon, what's mercury doing? same for everything else.Mercury in Pisces: what's Neptune and Jupiter aspecting? My moon's ruler is conj Saturn and Uranus. I in a big way identify with Capricorn and Aquarius.

Ha! I am the exact opposite of that lol. I literally think in feelings, not words. My mercury is at 28 aries but it's in the 12th house, trine Neptune, and opposite my pluto/moon conjunction. I feel everything, literally everything so I'm going to say it's a combination of those aspects. IP: Logged |
