I'm currently receiving conflicting advice on the following scenario:

A transiting Venus is set to conjunct Saturn.

One astrologer has told me this is a *good* thing - as a Capricorn, Saturn plays a significant role in my chart and the two coming together should bring peace and/or love into my life.

Another says this is a *bad* thing. As Saturn rules boundaries and restrictions and Venus peace and love, they say the two coming together means I should expect a blockage and/or challenge towards what I want.

Obviously my wider chart would influence the picture, but in a wider, general sense which do you feel is more correct? The crux appears to be whether you see Venus bestowing its blessings on Saturn (who makes them reality?) or Saturn inhibiting and pouring cold water over Venus'charms.

Surely both can't be right? How would you interpret it?

I tend to see the conjunction as something good - cementing, strengthening. Blocking if it's a square.

I don't have any real examples though.

Can't know without seeing your chart overall (what else Venus's transit may be aspecting in your natal chart).

However, with transits Venus conjunct natal Saturn is far more transitory and softer than Saturn conjunct natal Venus. The latter lasts longer and represents more a learning period regarding values and commitment.

Venus transits conjunct everyone's natal Saturn every year and it is not a major transit. The context is set more by slower moving outer planets. Without any of those also in aspect to natal Saturn, you may experience little you can recognize as undesirable, just a couple days of more serious priorities and ability for some self-denial.

The only time a Venus transit is major of itself is if it is in retrograde or stationary as it transits the natal planet/point.

And maybe most importantly -- thoughtful, knowledgeable astrologers don't throw astrological factors into the category of 'good' or 'bad.' They explain the relevance of the factor, its context and its relation to the big picture/natal chart. Terms like 'good' or 'bad' only serve to set up presumptions of benefit to come or apprehension. Neither is really useful.

I see it as a good thing only if you have acted in accordance with your Sun in Cap(ruled by Saturn) i.e responsible, dignified, strong sense of ethics, keeping your nose on the grindstone and being a person who demonstrates qualities to emulate etc.

The transit of Venus on Saturn(particularly when.Asc is in Cap/Aqua or in the 1st house) can make those Saturnian qualities more appealing and " sexy" to others now.

This is not an "overnight " spontaneous thing that is detached from you of course. But your part could be in acting in a manner that "embraces" those qualities and doesn't look at them as archaic or "old fashioned".

Venus teaches us self love. And people who are the sexiest are those that are easy to love because you sense in them "self acceptance".

So Venus transiting your Sun ruler and respective house would suggest a time where.confidence surrounding the areas of life that that house rules, are given a boost of confidence.

Since the Sun is involved. You may feel better about yourself and therefore as a result of that, more attractive to others.
