This is a brief article, but aimed at serious students of astrology at the intermediate level or higher.The progressed chart as calculated by the Naibod method is a fraud. It misrepresents Earth rotation, and in fact, tosses it out all together. The planetary movements in such a progression are accurate, but the lie is found in how Ascendant and house cusps are arbitrarily moved forward in tiny increments to end at an annual progressed gain of an average of 1°. This practice is probably rooted in the ancient obsession with 1° increments, as is easily taken from the Sun and applied elsewhere. The Sun is the only body in our solar system that has a movement that consistently close to 1° per day. (This forms the basis of solar arcs and primary directions.) However, secondary progressions work with the day-for-a-year metaphor that is Earth-based. The original transitory movement of the Earth’s turning (one rotation, actually 361°) in a 24-hour period is equated metaphorically with its own orbit around the Sun in a year. ... rest of the article with illustrations at:
