i would imagine what you take away from meditation rather than the practice itself being what it affects if anything
it's good to meditate on more than just a spiritual level, that being said i wouldn't rule out any possibilities of you gaining spiritual insights through it
it sounds odd but there is a secular side to spiritual practices meditation included
edit: don't know if you've ever thought about "magic and spirituality" just being things science hasn't explained yet, rather than these esoteric unreachable concepts
there's order and ritual and routine and cycles etc that are all part of a lot of these concepts, they operate on laws and theories etc and so on
and meditation even has value backed by science
just like gravity existed prior to its "discovery" and math has existed along with music and vibration as natural "languages" whether or not people understand them this sort of thing has value regardless
as long as you put yourself into it you'll get something out of it
