I relate to it more than my Venus in Cancer, and it's in exact conjunction with my Cancer Mars by a 0'18 degree orb.IP: Logged |

No, that's what I'm saying. The conjunction to Mars should have me relate to Aries Venus, but I don't. IP: Logged |

I think Aries Eagle means that the first house rules Aries. So having planets in the first house would be like having an Aries Venus. IP: Logged |

I know. I have Venus conjunct Mars in the 1st House, and I do not relate to Aries Venus. IP: Logged |

I don't think Aries Venus and first house Venus are entirely the same. Then what about to your sign traits? Why bother with signs then if house placements tell it all?I've first house Venus in Gemini but I'm different from an Aries Venus as in I don't lose interest quickly and I don't like tension. I also don't chase the ones I like. I'm pretty shy in that aspect. However, we're similar in that I also like to keep things fresh in my relationship (Geminis do too, in fact) and I don't like to play games. We have similarities but not entirely the same. Venus in 1st suggests the 1st house gives martial qualities to Venus. My close friend has this placement and it is similar to Juno in 1st house(which I have). The themes here differ somewhat from Venus in Aries-which deals more with putting your "all in" in relationships i.e "Love(Venus) is a battlefield(Aries)". Think also of Cheryl Cole's "Fight for this love". Now Venus in 1st functions a little differently: Using beauty as an identity, using your looks to navigate through life, peaceful negotiations, champion for peace, passivity as a defense, assertion through looking for compromise, wearing your beauty on your sleeve, your looks makes other people put up their guard, dressing for success, being judged for how you look, "first impressions last", "pretty" privilege, feeling like your lookd define you, fashion that empowers the self, using looks to get what you want, beauty is your power, your clothes speak volumes, spending time grooming oneself, willing to try for an agreeable position, instantly liked, great smile, great skin, model material etc. IP: Logged |

they're not, first house venus is different than aries venus and it has nothing to do with someone necessarily being forward the way aries venus is and so on a planet being in any particular house doesn't mean it loses its identity or that the house stands for what the sign stands for i admittedly don't always look at signs when i read charts but that's just because i'm lazy and there's **** you can know without bothering with signs based on houses and aspects, but that being said those things aren't what looking at a sign can tell you

Exactly!! this whole theory of one feeling like a certain sign based on houses they are placed is overriding and ignoring the influence of the signs the planets are placed in particular. Funny thing is the signs one supposedly feels like which in this particular case is Venus in Aries is also influenced by the house and aspects it is placed in, which means there is no pure Venus in Aries as such. yeah the theory falls apart when you actually look at what venus in aries means rather than venus 1st house like i said you can read a chart without signs and be right about things because houses and aspects do hold up, but you don't do that by reading venus in aries instead of reading venus 1st house etc and so on just like a venus aspect to mars won't give you venus in aries behavior either (and every aspect to mars in and of itself has its own unique expression anyway) you might get a similar quality here and there, but that's like saying multiple signs can be stubborn in certain ways that doesn't make them all the same or interchangeable (though that being said i do think that when it comes to people's tropical and sidereal charts in spite of differences balance can be found and you can get the same person, but i don't think of you just gave them any charts or any signs that would work the same... particularly if you explore vedic views of signs and nakshatras the sign differences are explained in ways that work because the signs are viewed a little different and some nakshatras blend signs etc)

^ That's what I was getting at. It's not gonna feel entirely the same, just certain aspects... e.g. a Gemini Venus in 7H will seek harmony in their partnerships like a Libra but that doesn't make them a Libra Venus... then what becomes of their Gemini traits? Dissolved? Makes no sense. @Leo-Cancer, My Venus in 1H also square Mars and still, I don't feel like an Aries Venus.

yeah, it really doesn't work and it ignores heavily aspected planets as well as sign using placidus (which i honestly don't care for or find as accurate i just use it here because other people generally prefer it here so it's easier to be on the same page) my venus is 12th house, conjunct ascendant (by 2 degrees), sextile mercury, sextile uranus, trine chiron, opposite moon, and square mars so using this theory i'd be reading it like a pisces, aries, aquarius, pick a mercury ruled sign etc and so on venus instead wouldn't work to take away sign and try to alter it based on any single aspect or the house it's in etc ability to relate to a quality here and there doesn't make someone a different sign (but like i said if they feel that way maybe the answer is in their draco or sidereal not in inventing a different system for reading charts that doesn't work well) it also doesn't work very well to paint a house too heavily with the sign it lines up with it's like saying a planet in 1st house makes someone the equivalent ascendant of whatever that planet rules i'm not a scorpio ascendant just because my pluto is 1st house (maybe it adds weight to pluto, but it's sextile my sun anyway forming a minor trine with sun and neptune) astrology works because it isnt vague and the details matter, a system like this would make it very vague and most of it meaningless hope that made sense i need coffee IP: Logged |

I have a first house Venus in Cap. But it is squared by Pluto.I have no idea what my Venus feels like, I’m definitely not cold or aloof. I certainly take delight in seducing people, just for the fun of it (sorry, I know I’m a selfish twat), although I never sleep around, I just like the power of people falling under my spell. I don’t think I feel like an Aries Venus, again it’s really hard to describe what I feel like and how my Venus feels (Neptune in the first, muddying the waters). IP: Logged |

The square to Pluto must cancel out the usual cold and aloof characteristics of Venus in Capricorn. How is the orb? ------------------ Cancer Rising 2nd House Leo Sun 3rd House Leo Mercury 6th House Sagittarius Moon & Pluto 1st House Cancer Venus & Mars 9th House Pisces Jupiter conjunct MC.
