Ever since I read David Anrias' "Man and the Zodiac," I have been fascinated with how signs such as Aquarius and Scorpio can be compatible (not just sun signs, of course). Anrias and a few other astrology sites have drawn from the archetypes of the eagle and the scorpion to explain the compatibility.Aquarius and Scorpio are square to each other. Are there other signs that are in hard aspects (square, opposite, and inconjunct) that show compatibility? And were those other signs have an archetype connection? IP: Logged |

Mr Anrias understands something most pop sign-based astrologers do not.Scorpio and Aquarius both occupy the same section of south declination (11-20°). So planets or points in them can be in parallel aspect, which unites them as conjunctions do. Article on this with illustrations:

That is a device of language to help people frame general relationships between signs. Only planets or specific points can hold a geometric aspect relationship like a square. It is accurate to say 0° Scorpio is square 0° Aquarius, but a sign as a whole cannot be square to another (or in any other aspect to it). ------------------

Thanks. I know that unless Scorpio and Aquarius are in a tight aspect, they are not necessarily square to each other. I should start looking into books about declinations.Out of curiosity last year, I bought the Kindle version of King Keyes "Parallels to Midheaven and Ascendant." That was waaay too advanced for me. All of the signs have connections to each other in many ways. All of them have something they have in common with an other sign. Signs that are opposites are given.. also those that are square, sextile etc. But also those that are inconjunct, like scorpio and gemini, both are interested in "information". Or signs that are neighboors, like virgo and libra. Both are all about manners but they have different motives as to why. Libra in general because manners are= charming for them and virgo because manners are=being polished and presentative. Same with clothes, libra will dress well because they wanna look pretty, virgo because they wanna look poper and presentable etc... IP: Logged | |
