Hi folks!

I met someone who uses equal house.

In terms of house changes for planets, Equal House using the Mertz drawing method would shift my sun conjunct Saturn into 1st (as opp. to 2nd)
and cluster my moon conj.pluto and a lone mars into 3rd (when before they were more spread across 2 houses moon conj Pluto was in 4 - mars always in 3rd though)

How would you describe the person in both cases? I’m only including the changed aspects.

How did you choose which system to use? Did you not identify with a Traditional chart?
Why did people feel the need to create other systems than traditional ?

I can only answer one of those questions. I chose Placidus by default. But now and then I dabble with whole sign.

Not much changes in my case. Mercury opposes Moon in the 4th(synonymous with Moon in 3rd), Mercury rules the 6th and squares Mars in 7th(synonymous with Mars in 6th conjunct Dsc).

With whole sign,Mars moves to the 7th & pushes the Venus,Pluto,Saturn into the 8th house.

Mc ruler is Saturn and moves to the 8th in whole sign. But in Placidus its in the 7th and if we look at Saturn in Scorpio, the sub-influence of the 8th is still felt.

Thanks Aries and which do you find resonates more?
Placides or Whole? Or do you like to use them in complement rather than adhere to just one ?

Same aspects, differences very subtle to show mostly when progressed aspects happen to those natal placements.

By learning the nuances and subtleties of birth chart rectification and how house systems perform in both longitude and declination.

Not sure what you mean by "traditional" chart. There are many house systems astrologers use, not just one.

Can't really speak to the specific motivations of such individual astrologers, but Placidus is often used by default because variations of it have been used since at least the 10th century, but for many of us who work with astrology in a precise manner it is the one that has held up best.

More important than house system is to ensure that your Ascendant is accurate by sign and degree.
