Well. They seem to like to do their financial admin and volunteered to be on the work committee although it’s extra responsibility.
This person is there for a range of people, over half of their closest friends have difficult characters.

You are exactly right though, this person guaranteed a presence using the words being there. However it applies to many others too, so it feels somewhat diluted especially to a Venus Leo.

This person can only truly communicate with me on the phone or over a slow-moving series with gaps allowing for interruption. Or if I am jokey.

They recently said they don’t need love. (I had asked that after someone said it in a series.)
I suspect/hope they meant more that they are not needy and don’t beg for attention. But you did say their ‘way’ is rather different so yes maybe they dont want love in the way others would.
I guess day to day living together dilutes things anyway. And Space would be required if I ever became floral, just to balance that out?

But as I don’t need his help for problem-solving
how could I « engage » his unique kind of love ?

I would take this literally/serious. If he says he doesn't need love, he probably really doesn't need love This may be caused of his mom not being truly present with him when he was a little child, not giving him the love/recognition he needed at that time which may have resulted in him not relying on love from the opposite sex for his own survival purposes. This is not something you can change. Especially if he's just fine like this.

Funnily enough, I experienced this with someone who I had been in love with for a few years. He's a Pisces with Moon in Gemini (in the 8th house) and Venus in Aquarius.
He said from the start that he doesn't want a relationship, like ever. I didn't take it seriously and I got damaged eventually. Hard.
Anyway, everything is a learning experience no regrets.

The ruler of the 8th is in the 7th it "negates" or adds complexities. Infact the ruler of a house in a house before it has a "12th house" effect on the house its in.

These people are likely to face some sort of tumultuous feelings when it comes to relationships i.e feelings of insecurity, fear of loss of love, fear of intimacy, huge emotional disappointments("death"), extreme highs and lows of emotions, tempestuous feelings that are sweeping etc.

The push/pull dynamic you speak of is part in parcel of that. Its part of that dynamic and being in a relationship with such a person will have intense emotional reactions from you.

The objective here is actually for emotional closeness and intimacy. But its done in such a way that its self sabotaging as the native runs away from what they really want.

In that there are usually progressions, transits of faster moving planets etc. that gettge momentum started. And planets like Venus etc. add to the momentum.

So what you speak of here is a "Venus return"- where the planet transits the natal position by conjunction. And my feelings about that it is likely to amplify the issues in the house that it transits(usually briefly).

But if for instance there was already a progression the 8th, Pluto in 8th etc. then the presence of this transit in 8th gains more zest.

I never notice my Venus return. So perhaps I am ill equipped to provide answers. I would google it. But I guess theoretically it would mean that one becomes more conscious of things of an aesthetic agreeable nature.

When in Aqua, the interest may be renewed in friendships. And when in 8th, this could.suggest wanting to feel more intimacy(8th) but no so much that you feel "crowded".

It could be a time where your friendships turn more intimate or more involving. Or a certain friend starts to be seen with less platonic eyes etc.

The song "Never be the same again" by Mel C (sporty spice) comes to mind. Especially when she says "I thought that we would just be friends(Aqua). But things will never be the same again(8th)" etc.
