What sign/planets are there? How do you think this describes your public persona, who you aspire to be and who you are outside of the home? Is this where your structure comes from? quote: SUN - Do you find yourself living a majority of life in a more public sphere? Are you career oriented? Are you very conscious of your reputation?MOON - Do you have an easier time expressing your feelings on a public setting? (Like social media?) Do you feel emotionally satisfied when you work? Do you feel emotionally distressed if you aren't working on yourself or being productive for long periods of time? MERCURY - Are you very mentally oriented to this area? Do you spend a lot of time thinking and communicating about reputation and being productive? Do you find learning to be a big part of your ideal career direction? VENUS - Do you spend a lot of energy on keeping your reputation nice? Are you hyper aware of perhaps reacting out of turn in public or being seen as rude or unclean or messy, emotionally or otherwise? Do you lean towards something aesthetically pleasing to yourself in productivity? MARS - Do you have a harder time holding down an average job? Do you find authority tends to find you overbearing or sometimes even threatening? Do you prefer being a boss level or think you would do well in that position? JUPITER - Are you lucky in this area of life? Do you have a big presence or personality that you are known for? A happy energy to be around? Do you enjoy feeling like an overseer to your peer groups? SATURN - Is this an area of difficulty for you? Were/Are boundaries and rules overbearing or never left room for breathing? Do you prefer to govern yourself? Do you restrict your self expression to some degree (or find others pressuring you to) when in public or getting to know people? NEPTUNE - Is this an area of inspiration for you? Do you have many ideals and grand hopes for changing the world? Do you have an artistic leaning expression? Do people have a hard time seeing who you are clearly? Are you projected on often? URANUS - Do odd things happen out of nowhere when you're out in public? Do strangers want to converse with you? Do you find yourself inspiring other people more than yourself? Do you like feeling eccentric in some way? PLUTO - Do people often come to you and spill all their dark secrets? Do strangers? Do people see you as a walking therapist or possibly a very powerful/intimidating person? Do you find yourself very aware or wary of how you present or come across in public? VESTA - Are you always returning to this area of life to recharge yourself? Is this an area of extreme cases or bouts of self doubt? Do you find a natural inclination towards some form of routine worship (not necessarily spiritual or religious)? PALLAS - Do you have a natural affinity or understanding of how a public persona or reputation should work? Do you understand boundaries or structure and rules and how to navigate your direction in life? LILITH - Do you find a lot of rejection or projection in this area? Do people have a lot to 'say' about how you present yourself or what you do with your life? Do you find a lot of confrontation when you go out? CERES - Do you find yourself drawn to careers or just a natural affinity for caretaking of some kind? Do you find enjoyment in nurturing or beautifying where you occupy? Do others do this to you? Did you have a lot of guidance (or an extreme lack thereof) in this area of life? JUNO - Are you very partnership oriented or loyal to this aspect of life? Do you find yourself happy when you find a partner or being a partner when it has to do with structure of daily life, bosses or reputation? CHIRON - Is this an area of life you struggle to find your footing in? Are you better at guiding others or helping soothe a ruined reputation in some way? Are boundaries and self regulating or self-control difficult for you? Are you inclined to help heal those around you? Are you very aware of pain in the world on a personal level?

I have Midheaven at 10.35 Cancer. No planets in the 10th but Mars and Mercury conjunct Midheaven from the 9th, at 9.20 and 6.52 degrees respectively. So a fairly tight conjunction too... Black Moon Lilith is in the 10th at 21 degrees Cancer.Mars is my most elevated planet but I don't feel like it's expressed much. I guess because it's in its fall in Cancer. I'm certainly bold and blunt when communicating (Mercury-Mars) but most of the time I'm rather passive, happy to be a follower and rather lacking ambition or drive. I guess that's the influence of the Cancer energy. Mercury is also very elevated and rather more dominant in my chart overall since it rules both my Gemini Sun and Virgo Moon. I am very mentally oriented overall, in private as well as in public. I work as a librarian, I feel like it's my calling in life, and it feels like a very Mercury type career. Equal parts information and communication! Libraries are learning institutions too, so it fits. As for Lilith... Well, I certainly faced rejection when I was bullied in my childhood and youth. But I don't feel like that's true anymore. The way I present myself is fairly eccentric, I don't fear to dress, behave and express opinions as I like, so it's possible that people talk behind my back... but I don't meet any rejection to my face these days, and not at all in my career as of yet. Out of curiosity, which House System do you use when looking at your chart? If you don't, I would suggest trying Porphory. Your Mercury may be closer to the MC than it currently is. (Though often if it's within 6 degrees of the cusp/axis, it would be considered more in the latter house anyway.) IP: Logged |

I use Porphyry and Placidus both. Mars and Mercury are placed the same no matter which of them I use. But from age 18 to 25 I studied abroad, and the relocation chart for that city puts my Mercury exactly on the Midheaven. I do think that might have a bit of an impact, those are some very formative years...

I have sun, mercury and venus in the 10th, but I also have NN conjunct my midheaven. Maybe that's why I'm not very "career-oriented." My 10th house needs to be developed. IP: Logged |

I think will have to also look to the sign that that planet is in to get the overall picture.I for instance have Mercury in Cap conjunct the Mc. Its the fact that it is ruled by Saturn that makes me fret on spelling/grammar as well as the accuracy/legitimacy of the information conveyed. I tend to critique other people's writing when reading etc. so as such, I relate to Saturn on the Mc as well as Mercury there. Another addition is Mars squaring the Mc(the tendency to critique)And its placement in Libra(balanced)would have me detracted from biased or "sweeping" remarks.. So Venus on the Mc I relate with too. Moon opposite Mc suggests an ability to "gauge" out public approval or disapproval through intuition alone. And this aspect is perhaps the most irritating. Its like I tend to feel the anger in the air and it is palpable to me as if I am the one feeling it(heightening my mood). So here Moon/Mc also resonates. I have quite a busy Mc/Ic axis. Neptune/Jupiter/Uranus are also parralel the Mc.So I wont get into that on here Oprah Winfrey has Neptune on the Mc in Libra. She was able to get guests to open up as if in a therapy session on her show(Neptune). But her show was not considered "sensational" or "sleazy" . People found her interviewing skills(barring she is not talking to a sexual predator or abuser) "impartial"(Lib). So she added a touch of class(Venus) Tom Hanks has Gemini Mc. But he is far too emotional as as actor to come across cerebral to deliver gut-wrenching performances in his films. And that's because the Moon rules Mercury in Cancer right on the 10th house. His Sun in Cancer(ruled by Moon) is also there. So he feels familiar to people. I have personally always found Willem Dafoe super intense and committed to his craft. He cares not for celebrity but authenticity. He has Mc in Scorpio. Saturn in Scorpio is there and Mars in Leo also squares the Mc. IP: Logged |

@Aries23Degrees yes, woops! I was thinking that when I started writing the post and then totally forgot about adding the sign energy!I hadn't thought of that for Moon opp MC either (I have this placement too) and you're absolutely right. I always forget oppositions play a role in these things, damn. IP: Logged |

I have stelliums in 10th and 4th. For me, my 10th does not represent the "carrier" house or aspirations house, at all, not mine anyway. Maybe it works for others but I'm so tired of 10th house being stuck with keywords like "carrier house" and "public selfe" etc. Sounds really unimaginative, yeah I'm frustrated lol and no I can't come up with anything better...IP: Logged |

It's not meant in a literal sense. But the 'career self' and 'public self' is essentially where this house is activated. It's the us we present when we act 'professional' or like there is a wall up. This can obviously differ when there are certain planets in the house (like the moon or sun or such), but for the most part it is who we present ourselves consciously rather than our natural, subconscious expression of self (saturn vs moon). The opposition could do it! Do you have a comfortable expression of self when you're consciously expressing yourself? It may also be that you are 'lucky' in the sense that you may not need to put much thought into how you express in public, as you are just naturally comfortable with it (Jupiter) and you may be more consciously aware of how you express yourself at home (opposite Saturn, I assume, in the 4th). BML (opposite Pluto, square mars) and SN in the 10th. Oh and Pallas conjunct MC. (Also persephone)LILITH - "Do you find a lot of rejection or projection in this area? " Yes... Until i found my 'niche,' people who are more like Lilith. "Do people have a lot to 'say' about how you present yourself or what you do with your life?" I'm sure they would if they knew me. Haha. I don't generally associate with people who would be judgmental of me, but it's impossible to avoid the general public. And I definitely get the vibe that many random people see how I present myself and get offended or intimidated in some way. But it's hard to say for sure. When I was in college and high school, I felt this way for sure because I was forced to be surrounded by many types of people and interact with them, but now I have way more control over who I have to interact with so I feel much less like an outsider with a bad reputation. "Do you find a lot of confrontation when you go out?" Nope, a lot of wild n crazy times mostly. No fights, no drama. PALLAS - Do you have a natural affinity or understanding of how a public persona or reputation should work? Do you understand boundaries or structure and rules and how to navigate your direction in life?
Yes to both but these are vague... I think Pallas conjunct MC is more about being a woman in a male dominated field, which is true for me...
