Or is it only people with a heavy 12th or 9th house? I feel like I'm attracted to people who have 12th house placements.

I don't see why not? 8th is still a water house that can tap into personal spirituality- though they may be more inclined to share it or keep it deftly secret than to be open and diffuse with it like they might in the 12th.

I've got an 8th House Stellium, in Cancer.
My Pluto Leo is there too, at e.o. 8th, cusping 9th.
By progression, Pluto is now in the 9th.

H8 Vesta, Vertex-Angel, Uranus, and Jupiter Cancer; with Pluto Leo.

H11, H12, H8 are water houses

Spirituality?, definitely! has been a deep theme in my life.
AND!! I also enjoyed a good sex life too, once-upon-a-time (while I was younger, LOL).

Yes! I'm very spiritual! I don't believe in one true religion. I believe in a God, and that he just wants us to be good humans. For we are all connected. Once I saw a chart of young man.
He is very rich but he earn not much.
He is just an advocate.
He was born rich.
His father is very rich and work related to law. The young guy got too much gifts now and then from his relatives.
He has Saturn Conjunct Venus Conjunct Rahu in his 8th House. I couldn't find his DOB right now. But I remember correctly.

My Chart Quite opposite. Venus,Moon,Rahu and Mercury in 2nd but only Ketu in 8th. Still no legacy.

i don't think you need a lot of planets in a water house necessarily to be into that sort of thing

i've studied the occult for years and that sort of thing is a huge part of my life without that (i guess i do have ruler of the 8th in the 12th conjunct my ascendant and it's also ruler of the 1st/my chart ruler though)
