So let's break it down. First, Pluto (power principle of total consciousness) being emphasized in the 1st house deals with empowerment, deep strengthening of self, power. That can extend more into the spiritual than material, but can apply to both.
Secondly, its trine to Jupiter (expansion principle) in the 9th shows a flow of empowering growth in the larger world (9th house, 'out there').
The aspect signifies deep optimism (depending on how tight it is), ability to rebound from errors or losses; a sense there is always growth to be had and the ability to find the resources to create personal abundance.
Trines can often seem taken for granted by the native as to their real strength and potential. They can take an extra push to bring them out. A bit more focused and verbalized intention, a bit stronger effort.
Jupiter is sky god and Pluto/Hades was his underworld brother. This aspect brings the big picture and the depths of the unconscious together in harmony. That can have benefits in going far with interests that can become profitable, or at least create enough growth to pull others along with you. Turning hobbies into business, etc.
But we're really talking about having a good feel for the undercurrents of what's going on in the world. If Jupiter is Rx it will likely mean more of an internalized sense of growth of knowledge and understanding.
