Say for example,

if your 8th House falls in aries which is naturally ruled by Mars and your Mars is in Scorpio. Scorpio is the natural 8th house ruler. Does that make the 8th house or your Mars somehow stronger?

Typically speaking Aries in 1st house is at "home" there. And the 8th house is at "home" in Scorpio. But both are ruled by Mars with Pluto being the added ruler of Scorpio.

Astrological wisdom suggests that Planets on the angles gain an added "advantage" or "focus" as they are on cardinal points and are thus more "potent".

Mars in 1st would be powerful because its on an angle. Mars in 10th would be powerful because its at its exalted house placement AND on the angle.

Mars in 8th is at home(true) so in matters related to 8th, it is very assertive. But that is where the assertion peaks whereas with Mars on the angles, the assertion spills over to other areas of life too ime.

So if there are other planets on the angles with someone who has Mars in 8th, those planets can overshadow the Mars in 8th i.e you won't experience the Mars in the person until and when it comes to eighth house matters.

Adding to Aries23.

Mars is more-completely embodying and acting as himself. Easier for Mars to be Mars in the situations he encounters -- every quality it can have. So yes, more-(unconsciously?/subconsciously) "natural" in his default energy; stronger-- with whatever it aspects.

Great if you can consciously use this energy.
