"Intelligence" is so broad. Planets can bless natives with different types of "intelligence".

I typically look at mutable houses in a chart for mentally related talents and abilities. This whether we are dealing with Saturn,Jupiter,Mars, Moon or Pluto etc.

Jupiter in 3rd(when they decide to ask,observe ,LISTEN and stop assuming that they have ALL the answers) gives an ability to explain well or articulate the small and link it to the big picture.

Pluto in 3rd(when they decide to obsess over the the details that actually matter).This alludes to Virgo Asc(3rd house cusp in Scorpio).

These folks have such deep minds that are well versed in psychological analyis of complex emotional issues (Moon/Neptune in 3rd gives the ability to be open & receptive but not necessarily to analytical aptitude)

Mercury is also associated with the critical eye of Virgo(and people often forget all about Virgo). So Sun-Mercury is also self(Sun) criticism or analysis(Mercury) And sometimes very harshly.

When we consider that Mercury has a naturally mutable nature.And we also see that it is in changeable sign of Cancer, we can deduce a lot of up/downs with self confidence(Sun) because of Mercury.

Where is your Moon( as it rules both Sun and Mercury)?

If its in Cap or Saturn aspect Moon(Moon in 10th). It can definitely result in you being all harsh & down on yourself.

If Moon aspects Mars(in Aries or 1st house), you may be extremely sensitive to criticism to a point of being argumentative/defensive(in reality,you are really battling your own mental insecurities )

If Moon aspects Neptune(in Pisces or 12th) you may have little idea of your mental abilities as rigid academic assessments may not bring them to light.

One thing you need to watch out for is the tendency to jump to conclusions/ become extremely argumentative when someone challenges your point of view.

Saturn says that you have to study harder or longer than most people. You cannot afford to take chances and leave studying or doing that assignment to the 11th hour. It will prove disastrous.

The good news is that Saturn tends to reward these trials & tribulations it brings in academics i.e you could(ironically) be sought after ,after you have "paid" your dues by being a popular Professor in an Educational instutution or a person whom others come to for academically related questions/issues etc.

My sister has the same chart(Moon /Asc in Cancer however with her). I tell her the same thing I am telling you now: you are not "stupid". You just have to be more dilligent in your studies/academic pursuits than others.

When you do this, Saturn repays you and lifts you to the status of an intellectual giant.

But you must never take shortcuts (they will always work against you or undermine you in a heavy way). You have to go the long way around.One book/course at a time.

But watch out for that Mercury/Mars power in your chart.You must avoid arguing with lecturers/teachers or advisors too with regards to marks.

Even when you are "right", you can come across too aggressive and combative that they may be inflexible in indulging you.

That would be a Pisces/Aquarius mix.

Having the skill to sense what other people are feeling and then being able to put them in the right place or just being able to sense things before they happen is another form of intelligence that is overlooked and in my opinion can be more powerful then someone who is strictly logical.

No offense I think mercury placements get to much attention.

There are other forms of intelligence intelligence..such as emotional, street smarts, musical and etc.

The real genuineness are the Da Vinci's that can mix exceptional art ability with mathematics, vary rare to find people like that.

OP, I think you define what you think intelligence means. In an academic setting, it may mean being well-versed in your field. Different people also approach intelligence in different ways, even when they say "wow, you're really intelligent."

If I was I wouldn't have mentioned how powerful people with emotional intelligence are, something I lack and the other forms of intelligence as in my previous reply and how I respect people who do have that form of intelligence. I would have otherwise boosted about what form of intelligence I have and disregard the other forms.

I already defined that intelligence comes in different forms..using academics to define how intelligent someone is is not a good benchmark.

Eisenstein was a terrible student during his undergrad ..does that imply he did not know his field of study or "not well versed in his field"??

Depending on the institution it inhibits people to be free thinking and actually knowing your field.

Most students end up just mastering on how to ace an exam without really being in depth in the subject.

I've done it others have done it the marks say that I know what I'm doing but do I actually believe that i'm well versed in my field?? not really. The education system can only take you so far..you need to make it into a passion and study what your interested both inside and outside of the classroom.
