How does one deal with the energy of planets that are in retrograde in their natal chart?How might they work to improve it so that they can manifest/exhibit the energy properly?

Determine if an issue is in my control or outside of my control.

If in my control, work on the issue.

For example, if it's public speaking, take a course.

If outside of my control, it's possible progressions will improve the blend of influence.

Otherwise, I might pray about it.

Retrograde planets represent internal energy as opposed to external. These planets need more attention and represent a karmic challenge but a great reward if you overcome its lesson. Usually the lesson is being unable to express yourself outwardly to others and the energy is only experienced inside of yourself. Retrograde planets also represent a karmic bond you have with someone and a promise because you are separated from them in your life. It feels isolating but just accept it. Check and see when the retrograde planet goes direct by progression to see when the challenge was overcome.

Retrogrades are just INNER oriented. I think they can make for a deeper person, so I don't think they are bad, per se.

Check your progressions to see when the retrograde goes direct and that year you'll be able to get a better handle on using that planet in an outwardly manner.
