Mercury retrograde gives an hyperactive mind and the person may try to express all the flying thoughts and ideas through the various forms of communication, talking being one.IP: Logged |

I know I have the ability to talk much, but for the most part I'm a pretty quiet person. I think it also depends where your Sun is at? How comfortable you feel with the idea of being listened to/brought attention to. My Moon and rising in Gemini. Mercury in Aries in the 11th square Jupiter from the 3rd. I guess that's all demolished with my 12th house Sun. But I definitely 'can' talk a lot around certain people, depending on how comfortable I feel in their presence I guess. IP: Logged |

my husband is Gemini Asc & Venus and Sun conjunct Mercury (Leo) and he literally talks 24 hours a day.IP: Logged |

I feel like this is correct because I just looked at the chart of a coworker of mine who drives me freaking insane with her non stop chatter and guess what?.. Jupiter trine mercury hahaha

Some of the biggest talkers i know have Jupiter in aspect to Sun(5th house)-Moon(Ic)-Mars(1st house) There is often a need to express themselves in a BIG way-this especially the easy aspects.I call it the "preacher" aspect and when they start, there is no stopping .Lol. They usually suggest someone who may project their communication wants to someone else/write a lot. The Sun-Jupiter square/ opposition can be "The Preacher's husband/wife" or the enthusiastic supporter of a political rally-because the politician/preacher says all the things that this person would love to be as articulate as them in saying. Robin McGraw has Mercury/Venus widely opposing Jupiter. Her Hubby is to me the archetype "preacher" I speak of -Dr. Phil McGraw. He expresses things she wpuld love to say. He also many times has stated how his wife is very influential on him(the opposition aspects often have the effect of influencing the spouse or even living vicariously through them). To double up this.effect, Jupiter/Mercury are in mutual reception i.e Mercury in Sag and Jupiter in Gem. Behind the scenes, Robin is much more talkative & expressive (even though she only sits as a spectator on Phil's show) ***I am not sure if the show is still.on though.I make reference to past shows*** Oprah Winfrey's hubby Steadman is another example.He however has the conjunction ot Sun/Mercury/Jupiter but is still not as "in your face" as Oprah. But behind the scenes, hes is much more expressive. Venus forms a contra parallel aspect to Jupiter
He is attracted to "preachers" & Oprah does have her Asc in "preaching" Sag. So there. She has also indicated that despite people thinking he is a "man-b***" to her.He is certainly a very "take charge" guy within the relationship. I don't doubt that as he has Mars/Saturn in Aries /Libra points,Mars/Venus both in 5th,Venus/Pluto trine and Venus ruling the Dsc in the sign ofAries(Ruled by Mars)

Well, my mum is very clever woman, but omg..sometimes i can't even stand her voice, bc she always talks..all the time. She doesn't even have internal monologue, just to keep one thing for herself. Luckily, she's brilliant, but still it suffocates me.
Maybe because im talkative too and she kills my desire to communicate more with her 
I have rx Me conjunct with Sun and trine Moon and Saturn.
On the other hand, Sun is ruler of house where is my Merc and trined with Jup.. so my talkativness is pointed there, WiTh huge moderation - I am trying not to overexaggerate and have mercy to other people  IP: Logged |

Went and looked at my coworkers chart again, didnt see any contacts to sun/moon or mars/saturn but I did notice that jupiter is conjunct uranus trining her mercury as well lol. Not sure how I missed that the first time. This is in her 5th and 9th houses respectively which makes sense, because shes always either talking about her faith/spirituality or talking about her relationships (current and prior ones) as far uranus goes, it definitely adds an aquarian flair to her speech as I feel she often says "shocking" things or just overshares to the point where you feel uncomfortable lolIP: Logged |

I finding that I'm just the opposite. People are always asking me to speak up when I would rather stay quiet. My retrograde Mercury is in my 8th house.

Being in the 8th house contributes to it. Plus the sign that it is and the aspects, and Mercury ruler and its aspects and sign. All modifies the energy.
In general, Merc RX is expressive and can be talkative. I am one example of them. IP: Logged |
