I have a few planets on house cusps -

Venus on ASC 1st/12th
Sun on 1st/2nd
Mercury on 2nd/3rd
Uranus (my DESC ruler) on 5th/6th

According to my birth chart time all of these planets would fall just short of the latter house by a couple degrees. If I change the time to 10/15 minutes earlier they fall in the next house. I’ve read up on each house and how it would effect the planets and can relate to both descriptions. I particularly feel both the Venus in 12th and 1st probably because it is on an angle, but i am having a hard time determining which the others feel like.

Sun in 1st or 2nd - I have Mars square sun and Taurus Mars so already have both Aries/Taurus qualities.

Mercury in 2nd or 3rd - my mercury is in Virgo, it is mercurial like Gemini but earth like Taurus.

Uranus (desc ruler) in 5th or 6th - I’ve read that this shows where you meet people you will date. Everyone I have dated I’ve met socially but tied through work, whether it be a family members co-worker, someone I met at a work party/event. I’ve never dated someone I’ve actually worked with though.

Is it possible I would have qualities of both houses? I am trying to figure out which one they are actually in but maybe that’s not possible.

That is an example of a chart with house line questions that would probably only be resolved with a rectification. Rectification isn't relevant only when there is no birth time or a vague one. A skilled rectifier (self promotion here) knows how to test the chart and narrow to a precise degree (and minute of arc) the house lines so that each planet naturally falls into their correct house.

The area where a planet is closely conjunct or parallel the next house cusp does create something seemingly like it being in both houses, but of course that's like saying a person can be in two houses at once. Of course, they can't. But a person can be in one house and speak loudly enough to be heard next door.

That is probably a poor analogy for a planet tightly conjunct the next house's cusp. It's just you cannot use wide orbs for such conjunctions. More like 1° or so, and parallels tighter -- after the house lines have been determined with certainty (which is done by focusing on the Ascendant and Midheaven/IC's precision, not necessarily each individual house cusp in question).

To further confuse things (but to show how tricky this is) a planet can be in one house in longitude and in another in declination. Houses are not what most astrologers think they are. It's tricky, but it can be worked out by someone who knows declinations (more self promotion).

No such thing as in "both houses". It's either in one or the other. Just read up the descriptions for each house.

I wasn't sure about my Venus placement, since it was so close to the cusp but when reading multiple sources, I was able to determine that I'm a 12H Venus & not an 11H Venus. In retrospect it makes total sense lol. Oddly enough, reading the retrograde description was what made my mind up in the end.

I looked for this thread because I meant to answer it but was not sure of where to start really. The first time I was still examining this.

Venus on the cusp of the of the 1st from the 12th brings a Neptune flavour to the Venus nature. And when on the cusp of the 1st,there is likely mystery/open endedness to the initial personality

I met someone with Mars in 12th conj Asc.No aggression to be found.Add to that Mars is in Cap(place of exaltation)

But what did come through was a sensitivity. That was palpable.Included herein was also the reserved nature (Cap). But no competitiveness as expected.

Mars parallel Uranus and Saturn
Mars contraparallel Venus.

And these are the only aspects to Mars in his chart.
