Hello ! :3 I was curious if anyone had their Saturn in the 6th house, or deals with chronic illness in anyway and how their chart reflects that via health placements or not.

My aunt, and my friend, both have Leo risings with their Saturn in Aquarius in the 6th house. Both were born with back problems, my aunt, who’s older got an experimental surgery to put a rod in her spine.. and clearly ever since she has had back problems. She’s had cancer multiple times, overall just has a very weak constitution and has had trouble with work because of her health. Now she is a pet sitter despite years of disability. My friend has a very curved spine and also had a very weak constitution, she gets sick easily and as much as she focuses on all these health remedies and herbs, she is continuously sick and easily burnt out. She says she will eventually need surgery, though her health hasn’t quit effected her work so far it seems to have reaccuring issues.

I have my mars sun and mercury in the 6th house, other than my ovaries being a source of problems for me.. libra/Scorpio emphases.. I feel like I’m very quick to recover and have a really high pain tolerance. It’s interesting, I am not as diligent on health foods, I mean I eat healthy but I also enjoy myself if ya know what I mean :P and i am not as focused on fitness, and my friend is super conscious of her looks/weight always trying to stay thin, eating ultra healthy and all these herbs and pills and what not and she still will seem to be in a sense “weak”.

I also feel like the combination of Pisces and Saturn/Capricorn has a very limited threshold of tolerance.. no offense to y’all And I notice this because my mars/Pluto really doesn’t have a limit, I go to extremes and tend to live life on the edge, and don’t know when to stop and say enough! So it’s very interesting to me, because my boyfriend is a Pisces with strong Capricorn/Saturn and gives up on things that are too soon imo. My friend with the weak constitution also has Pisces placements and her prominent Saturn, and she burns out almost instantly which is surprising since she’s an Aries sun.

Certainly that could be a contributing factor.

Chronic conditions could perhaps be indicative of powerful challenging aspects to Sun/Mars? Or planets in Aries/Leo would indicate that personal expression is significantly affected? This including Asc and 5th house associations.

Christopher Reeves who became paralyzed after an accident with a horse, has Asc in Leo(Sun ruled) opposite Aqua North node(7th house "open enemies"). Can you see the awesome symbolism here?

Add to that Chiron in Saturnine Cap(Chronic) is square Sun in Libra( self expression /life force).Uranus in Cancer is in tight inconjunct aspect with natal Mars (body)suggesting a sudden(Uranus) imposition (Uranus) to one's body(Mars).

Stephen Hawking has Chiron in Leo right off the bat. So this suggests self-expression/health issues already. Add to that Sun in Saturnine(restrictive) Cap and its ruler (Saturn) is conjunct Uranus. Not good.

Uranus always opposes the life force of the Sun(Leo)in the natural Zodiac wheel as the ruler of an "open enemy"( Aqua 7th). Now together with Saturn in solar 6th and as co-ruler of the solar 7th, it certainly suggests difficulty in health/vitality/expression because of emphasis.

Whilst Leo/Sun is always symbolic of life force in a chart and self expression.Mars is symbolic of the "ego" body or the separate self "I am".

Stephen Hawking has Mars in Aries in its own place-giving it double meaning. It is both the "body" to him and how he sees himself as an ego "personified" etc. It definitely makes him forthright.

Now Pluto in Leo squares his Mars(body). Some huge momentum or unstoppable force that obstructs (square) his body.

Chiron is learning to deal and manage a condition as it is. And when in Leo, its connected to the health centre/ self expression i.e learning to still express oneself but in a way that requires a more "alternative" route etc.

I can imagine how painful it must have been for him and the courage he must have had to muster to have to have been a self sufficient and independent Mars in Aries/Venus in Aqua combo etc. and then progressively have to ask for help or assistance in doing menial tasks? Wow!

Interestingly, his North Node is conjunct his natal Moon in Virgo. And Virgo is "the help". So my thinking is that he was surrounded by "helpers" throughout his life. Add to that his utter devotion to work( it's a Virgo thing).

****Look at the Virgo N.Node themes repeated in his marriages: First wife has Venus in Pisces opp Chiron in Virgo. His 2nd wife was initially his nurse(Virgo profession) and she is a cusp Leo/Virgo(born 20 August) with N.node in Pisces opp her Virgo Venus.

From my family:

My Mom has Pluto in Virgo square Sun. She has been diabetic(6th) for a very long time. The nature of the illness has even gone to the extent of transforming her life(Pluto-Sun square). Its very manageable though.

I find it interesting that Sun in 6th/Sun-Merc/Sun in Virgo/Leo 6th often becomes indistinguishable from their illness i.e The illness tends to be part in parcel of their personality & life experience as it defines who they are in some way significant to their self expression.

Nice thread

I have Saturn in the 6th house (it's retrograde, gemini, trine sun and neptune and square mars) and I suffer from chronic illness. It has to do with digestive problems. I heard that moon and mars in Virgo, both of which I have, can also lead to digestive issues. I also heard that saturn in 6th can lead not just to chronic illness but digestive issues specifically.

Since I was really young I've had things like a sensitive stomach, but it was when I was around 14 and experienced a saturn opposition that my serious issues started. After that, I was kind of able to manage it if I really watched and kept to strict diet, schedule, preplanning etc., but now in the past year it's gotten worse than ever and I don't know why. It kind of rules my life right now in that I can't even do basic things like have a job or go places with others. Nothing the doctors have tried has worked... BUT I don't want to go on about it because I'm young and I still have hope that it will go back to becoming manageable again.

I tend to be quite physically sensitive to my surroundings and easily get colds, nosebleeds, poison ivy rashes (sounds stupid but I'm so allergic and get it really badly all over even without going outside), other reactions, food sensitivity, weird sensations, etc etc. I'm slow to recover from things like surgery, and it's difficult for me to gain weight, plus other body issues I don't even want to talk about. I heard these kinds of things can also result from Neptune in 2nd (which I have). Again, my neptune is trine saturn, and also sun (that trine is 0.00 degrees); these three planets make a grand trine in my chart and since two are in places that affect the body (2nd) or health (6th)... I feel like it really impacts me or something.?

Very nicely laid out I like how you break it down makes it easier to make connections. ! Love all the info, and super interesting as far as the health patterns correlating to the sun. Which is ironic to me since the sun is seen as ones vitality and it actually seems to me that the sun prominent actually has a rather weak constitution, or just sensitive I suppose. And that makes sense with the self expression learning to show itself in alternative ways.
Also makes me think of my own chart and maybe I have chronic conditions I don't even really think about but they are essentially apart of who I am in a lot of ways. I have my sun conjunct Mars and Mercury 6H apart of the apex of a t-square involving Jupiter 3H opposing Saturn/Uranus/Neptune in the 9H and Uranus on the 8H cusp with a Virgo moon. Ha
I suppose I didn't think it was too high on my list of urgency but I've recently found out I have a thyroid imbalance that it's too hyperactive which is interesting because I have Taurus rising with Venus conjunct Pluto conjunct my descendent, my ovaries and overall stomach area has frequent issues. But the hormonal imbalance effects a lot more than I ever really knew, like my anxiety/depression/mood swings, my ovarian cysts.. There's a lot physically I deal with all the time I consider almost normal or I tolerate and it's actually chronic as I'm slowly remembering hHa. Maybe it's my sun/Mars/Mercury intercepted in the 6th house that makes me ignore it?

Oh wow! So you definitely can understand Saturn 6th house, I bet Neptune does have something to do with your overall disposition, I've seen Neptune have allergy like effects, like subtle and mysterious illnesses that pop up that are hard to diagnose or pinpoint! I also have a Virgo moon and my sun/Mars and Mercury are placed in the 6th house. My stomach is really sensitive, as is my skin and overall I'm just ultra sensitive lol. But I guess I never really thought about it being a thing until contemplating this post because I was more fixated on Saturn, but I guess I do have chronic conditions that are "normal" to me. My rising is in Taurus, with my Venus in Scorpio conjunct Pluto on my descendent, I think that, mixed with my 6th house libra makes my stomach area down SO SENSITIVE. I recently found out I have a hormonal imbalance that has brought a lot of clarity as far as my anxiety/depression and has my ovaries all kinds of messed up. I get cysts a lot and it's excruciating.. The thyroid is ruled by Taurus, and reproductive system ruled by Scorpio but I think libra rules the ovaries and lower back/kidney and it's for sure my weak spot. I feel like my ovaries will be the death of me, as I get older they become more problematic.

It's funny to me how the 6th house creates this worried hypochondriac tendency, like naturally so drawn to health and all that yet also so very prone to getting ill as well. It's like a self fulfilling prophecy, or maybe this ingrained knowing that one has to focus on taking care of the body.

If you don't mind me asking what is your ascendent axis?

My Saturn isn't in my 6th house but I have several chronic illnesses. I have Chiron in Cancer/6th house opposite Saturn in Capricorn/12th house. My Saturn is conjunct my ASC.

Sun in the 6th, mercury, Chiron, and ceres.

I was always sick as a kid, and I deal with chronic illness as an adult.
