I was reading through one of your articles linked in one of the other threads directed towards you about "Topocentric". It got me thinking, Astro.com now has an option to use that, but now my Moon in Libra is at 16°2' instead of 16°7ish' and it changes my Venus slightly too. Is this accurate or do you already account for the Moon's gravity?IP: Logged |

Yes, use it. The topocentric position compensates for the parallax effect of viewing objects close to Earth, especially the Moon.------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

So, now looking at my chart, the Moon not only dropped back 16°02', but now the Declination as changed dramatically, it was at 5°33', now it's at 6°8'. Now that means it's no longer contra-parallel Jupiter. Can you re-evaluate my natal? I completely forgot what Moon contra-parallel Jupiter even meant for me😆 IP: Logged |

There's no need to reevaluate. Just that aspect is missing, which really had been on the edge anyway at just over 1.5° out (especially at those low declinations). Everything else is the same because the longitude position isn't much different.Using topocentric positions is something I should have been doing much earlier in my practice. I waited until I'd found proof positive for using them. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

You've told me that aspects to Luminaries could go as far as 2°? I know it's not for certain, but did something change in your practice to limit them more?IP: Logged |

Parallels between Sun and Moon might go as wide as 2° from exact. Moon and Jupiter are two other bodies that could have wider orbs than other plants, but not as wide as the luminaries in aspect to each other. That may not apply to potential contra-parallels where the distance between them isn't wide (like Moon 6° north, Jupiter 4° south = 10° separation). There are nuances here I have not yet nailed down to my satisfaction. I like to be certain and as of yet I've not come across a way of being certain where the limits are. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

Do those declination orbs apply to synastry as well?IP: Logged |

No, orbs need to be tightened a bit for synastry, closer to what is functional for transits. Orbs are set by the planet with greater weight: luminaries more, Jupiter more, others less. So luminaries could be up to 1.5° in aspect with each other, but 1° would be the top limit for most other planets. Neptune & Pluto around 0°50' (to calculated points or Neptune). ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |
