Hello!I'm not 100% positive about this because it's been quite a while since I read Linda Goodman's astrology book, but I seem to remember something about her only using the Equal house system to calculate natal charts. Does anyone know, or am I way off? IP: Logged |

I think it ignores geography just to make the chart reading easier, that said the house placement in my own 'equal chart' does fit me though personally speaking.IP: Logged |

Randall reminded the forum that "Linda used Equal" at http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum34/HTML/000081.htmlEvery system will have both merits and drawbacks but, theoretically, each should produce the same result/output/report - if a full analysis, interpretation and synthesis of the chart is carried out. For example, I use Placidus (because it reveals interceptions). However, I have discovered that the issues highlighted by interceptions in Placidus charts also appear in Equal House charts - but they are shown via different astrological indicators within the two charts. In my experience, it is problematic for people whose ascendant is in the third decan of a sign. IP: Logged |

Yes, it's true. And I read in "My World Of Astrology" by Sydney Omarr the mathematical explanation for it. I remember reading that other methods are wrong, since they mix the ecliptic with longitudes upon the Earth, two different systems.

I've been finding the Equal house system to be very simple to use. My ascendant is at 28 Leo. I think the late degree throws everything off, but I still like the simplicity of Equal. Also, I've found that for me personally the planet placements are very accurate. With the Equal houses , I have Pluto in the 1st house, with most other systems it's located in the second house. The description of first house Pluto is so very perfect for me.IP: Logged |
