What is your recommendation for Sun and Jupiter to be considered Parallel or Contra-Parallel?

Typically, parallels and contra parallels use a 1 degree or smaller orb. Maybe 1.25 for luminaries but no more than that.

If you're talking natal chart, I believe it may go as far as 1.5° orb (when nearer the extremes of declination 20-23°), but I don't have any examples yet to clearly back it up.

In declination it depends on the exact positions. What are they by degrees?

Yes! I'm asking about the Natal Chart. Her Sun is at 12°41'4" Virgo, and her Jupiter is 15°57'51" Libra.

I would not count that as a contra-parallel. A bit too wide for being only about 12° separate in declination.
