I assume you mean you have a planet in your birth chart, which the new/full moon approaches with a conjunction to it. The luminaries in new/full moon scenarios are definitely active when within 5-6° and probably further out. The closer, the more active, especially on the applying side.

That prioritizes the internal over externalization, transition over staying the course -- less so when it is a simple new moon, more so when Moon eclipses Sun (solar eclipse).
